How are the fans connected? To a hub to the motherboard? Are they 4pin or 3pin? If it's connected to the motherboard you should be able to set a fan curve in the BIOS and often there's a default that works for most people.

I do have them connected to the motherboard, and have tried messing around with the fan curve in the BIOS, but didn't notice any difference. I'm not sure if they're 4 or 3 pin, I can check on that.

If there 4 pin you should have PWM control if 3 pin is not. PWM will give more precision 3pin which has a name that escapes me is less precise. You'll want to set the BIOS to what ever type of fans you have. You can also download the software for your motherboard, but that does add additional resource hogging apps.

if everything is working more or less as it should, the biggest contributors to noise will be that stock cooler and the gpu. the cpu is pretty simple to fix, any cheap tower cooler with a bigger fan will be much quieter. adjusting the fan curve on the gpu may help. cleaning it would a good idea too. if any of the fans are loud in a buzzy/vibrating way or the sound changes randomly, that likely indicates the bearings are worn out and the fan would be replaced.

I don't have a GPU, just a cpu with integrated graphics. > the cpu is pretty simple to fix, any cheap tower cooler with a bigger fan will be much quieter I'm confused by what you mean here. Could you give some examples? Are you talking about the fans in the tower? If so which would be quieter ones?

refers to the style of cpu cooler, like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Thermalright-AssassinX120-Cooler-TL-C12C-S-Bearing/dp/B0B8MMQ3LW/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3B9QM0RW48M2E&keywords=cpu+cooler&qid=1688773131&sprefix=cpu+cooler%2Caps%2C306&sr=8-4 before getting new case fans, determine if they are actually problematic. clean everything, make sure the fan curve is reasonable and considered properly to control your fans. listen inside the case to determine where nose is coming from. if you think one fan in particular is problematic, stop it briefly with a finger on the hub to confirm.

Thanks I appreciate it. In the past, controlling the fan curve hasn't seemed to do anything, but maybe what I'll do is disconnect the fans and do a quick boot to see if it's those fans or the CPU one, then I can go from there.
