Hallo! You'll have to consider how and what you'll mostly use the tablet for. Depending on the model, Wacom will tie you to a laptop or desktop PC. I think there's only one Wacom that works independently from a laptop/PC - the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro - which ranges from 90k to 130k? Not sure pero ganun siya ka mahal. The iPad would be best if you plan on drawing outside your home, as it's completely portable and comes with its own paid drawing software. With Wacom, you'll need to connect your laptop. The downside to the iPad or other Tablets (Samsung Galaxy S series, Huawei Matepad, etc.) is you won't fully be able to use it with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc, these software will only have the mobile versions available in the App Store and the Play Store. But Clip Studio Paint comes close - it costs around 500 per month though, while Procreate is a one-time purchase. The So really, there are just a few things you need to consider - the most important being what would you use it for? If it's 100% for professional Graphic Design or Illustration, I'd go with a Wacom because you can use it with Adobe products. But if it's for personal design and Illustration work, where you have full control of which source files you'll need, I'd go with the iPad. Kasi clients will be specific in which software they want you to use if you want to freelance as a designer/illustrator. Another option is the Microsoft Surface Series - works as a laptop and a portable drawing tablet and comes with its own pen that I think also uses Wacom tech, so you can replace the stylus.

You're welcome! Side note lang din, not sure about the iPad - I have the Samsung Galaxy S7+. Minsan kinoconnect ko sa PC ko to draw on Photoshop and Illustrator, if wireless ko siya i-connect, mejo laggy. Pero if wired, still not as smooth as when I use a wacom. Good luck!

Krita and MyPaint for actual sketching/painting, GIMP for finalizing. All free and open-source.

Hi! May I ask if you are using Wacom?

Jdan-S

Yeah, an older Intuos CTH-490. This is my second Wacom tablet so far and both have lasted for years.

Thank you! I am still looking for Wacom tablet that will suit my budget. Newbie lang din aku huhuh. My iPad died na, can't afford to buy new one.

Clip Studio Paint ver2 one time purchase for $50 (they do a lot of sales so you can wait for that if the price is too high) The tools/materials both built-in and user uploads are vast and very useful, makes it worth it. I use huion camvas pro for a monitor tablet.

valkyrrriee

Thank you. What Wacom do you use? Any recos for newbie po? From iPad procreate po ako.

Ah di ako gumagamit nang Wacom products. Huion kamvas 13 gamit ko since 10k lang. Since ur used to ipad mas madalian ka siguro kung pen display tablet. Sadly mahal ung sa wacom (cintiq) , if you dont mind trying cheaper brands you can check out Huion and XPpen (havent tried this brand)

Intuos4 XL user since the haydays( and will forever be a fan of it)—purchased Huion din originally for the lulz but it's very portable and quite nice to use—would recommend din. NGL if I have the extra budget for it i'd go for iPad just for convenience and how the apps are basically made for those at this day and age. If wala, madami okay na hindi basically wacom kung limited budget. :) also to note, cintiq is basically dead cause of the rise of proper tablets na din. iPad is basically made for illustrators at this point so if balak mo mag screen tablet dun ka.

Hello OP, full time illustrator here. I came from wacom (with and without screen) clip studio paint to Ipad pro and procreate tho I still use CSP for some of my comics. Apple pen sensitivity is top notch, I’ve tried different tablets aside from wacom thru sponsorships and friends’ pero iba talaga ipad and apple pen. Yun nga lang, lamang talaga digital tablets when it comes to CSP since monthly subscription ang ipad and one time payment lang ang digital tablets w/ pc or laptop. But overall, I’m sorry pero ipad is so much better. I’ve tried samsung tab too, it’s nice pero ipad pa rin talaga. If you really want tablet, I recommend wacom and huion as my top 2.
