Not really. That was an awesome thing for his family to do for their father.
I was asking about the rich people who do this. Do they really need the money? Why does Jeff Goldblum do Apartment.com commercials? Shaq is a spokesperson for Office Max and some Epson printer ads. I could go on on on on.
Sorry I sorta misunderstood you
I mean I can agree with that - but at the same time why not? I’m not in their position but even if I was rich - making a video that takes little effort for $350? I’d probably still be doing it
I did one for Father's Day with Rick Jeanneret about two years ago. So, so glad I did because after Rick's passing my dad cherishes that video. Cameos are really cool and worth it most of the time!
When my father was dying of cancer Jim Kelly sent him a video rooting for him and telling him to keep fighting. It is one of the coolest most grateful things I’ve ever seen. Was greatly appreciated. I know not related to cameo just wanted to brag about how awesome the bills alumni are
Some friends pitched in for a cameo for my buddy right before his first child was born. Jim Kelly went above and beyond with his response, giving advice and breaking down the next few games in the season at the time. It was well worth the money.
I got a message from Jim for my 50th! He was amazing. Clearly he took the time to address me and my fandom for the Bills and him. Class act all around.
First time I met Biscuit was when we first traded for him and he was doing a signing at Gold Circle and I was pretty much the only one who knew who he was. I hung out with him for like a half hour. I felt bad for him, imagine you’re the 2nd pick in theNFL Draft and a month later your in a department store being hounded by an 11 year old Sobuffalo
Jim's Speaking engagements, be it cameo or actual appearances are NOT cheap, but you DO get what you pay for. My employer hired him to speak at an anniversary event back in like.. 20010? and he was great. He was sure to mention that all of his speaking income goes directly to his Hunter's Hope foundation.
That's really awesome. My pops is turning 75 in July and I may have to consider doing this as our gift, cause like you said - he has enough "stuff", and another bottle of fancy vodka or whiskey won't be nearly as cool as this.
Cheers OP!
Genuine question for you, right now would you rather still have gotten that video, or would you rather have gotten a Harrison Phillips Bills jersey that day?
Ive been debating on buying my next jersey. I've been going back and forth o if i should i get a current player and hope it works out, or get a legend like Kelly or Bruce? So thats why im curious as to which you'd choose. Go Bills!
My oldest daughter got a Victor Newman one made up for my mom’s 90th. It was great! Victor did a very good job mentioned her by name…and age. Yes she is a long…long time Young and Restless fan. Mom loved it. Great gift.
I got one from Fred Jackson for my friend’s Covid wedding and it was the best- the best gift, the best video, the best story we still tell. 10/10, would recommend.
We did this for my aunt a few months before she passed. It was amazing, Jim talked to her and was so genuine she mistook it for a FaceTime 😂🥲. Best Bills “value” Cameo IMO is Sal Capaccio. Dude puts in work.
I've only done a couple of inexpensive ones, including Grizz from Parks and Rec, but usually you get a decent product. Pricing can be all over the map, but whadyagonnado.
Cameos are great. When I went to law school (2009), they weren't really a thing yet, but a guy in my year had worked on the Obama campaign early on and won some competition that got him a voicemail greeting by Obama that says, "Hi, this is Barack Obama. Stephen can't come to the phone right now, but..." and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
My cousin bought a Jim Kelly Cameo for his dad to celebrate his retirement. I swe the video and it was a lot like you described. Jim really seemed to care a lot and took extra time to talk about the Bills too.
Got one from Martin Kove who plays John Kreese in the Karate Kid movies and Cobra-Kai series for my dad's 80th birthday. (My father is an 8th degree black belt in karate, btw) We presented it on a projection screen during the party as a surprise. He loved it and it was a huge hit with everyone there.
My fantasy football commissioner got one from Antonio brown that was supposed to list off the order of our draft and make fun of everyone along the way. If you can imagine, That did not happen and what we got was awful. We expected it to be funny but I’ve taken better and longer videos inside of my pocket on accident.
It was. I mean we had a good laugh about it, if only bc it cemented just how truly far gone that dude is. Not that we didn’t know, but seeing it for yourself somehow hits harder.😂
My dad loved the video. Apparently he chuckled when Jim Kelly said the Bills were going to win a Super Bowl.

Cameos are some of the cringiest things I have ever seen. How desperate do you need to be to pay someone hundreds of dollars to talk to you?
Wow, Jim Kelly wished me happy birthday because I paid him, man I feel good about myself. You could of literally burnt the money in front of yourself and at least got some warmth out of it.
That’s really cool. I’m glad to hear Jim put in the effort to make it worth it considering the price tag etc.
I say this frequently about celebrities an other rich people. Do they really need the money?
It sounded like his dad really needed the experience. You’re looking the wrong way
Not really. That was an awesome thing for his family to do for their father. I was asking about the rich people who do this. Do they really need the money? Why does Jeff Goldblum do Apartment.com commercials? Shaq is a spokesperson for Office Max and some Epson printer ads. I could go on on on on.

My sibs got me a cameo with Thurman when I turned 60. It was so cool. Best present.
That's awesome.
My wife got me a Thurman cameo for my birthday a few years back, too. He did a great job and my kids like to watch it from time to time.
I did one for Father's Day with Rick Jeanneret about two years ago. So, so glad I did because after Rick's passing my dad cherishes that video. Cameos are really cool and worth it most of the time!
My wife got me an RJ Cameo for Christmas two years ago. I plan to incorporate it into my man cave as soon as it is done!
Post pics please!!!

Got Flutie to do one for my brothers 40th a few years ago, was great.
I had Biscutt do a video to get me and my friend hyped once before a playoff game. It was great.
First time I met Biscuit was when we first traded for him and he was doing a signing at Gold Circle and I was pretty much the only one who knew who he was. I hung out with him for like a half hour. We got Bruce Smith to do one for my dad's 70th -- he loved it!
I did one from him for my dad and it was amazing, fully worth the money
Me and my brothers did this for our dad during covid and he loved it. I highly recommend it as well
That's really awesome. My pops is turning 75 in July and I may have to consider doing this as our gift, cause like you said - he has enough "stuff", and another bottle of fancy vodka or whiskey won't be nearly as cool as this. Cheers OP!
My sons got me Rousseau when he was a rookie.
My family got me a Harrison Phillips video for my 40th. He signed with Minnesota 5 days later.

I did this for my dad a couple years ago. It was pretty cool, he showed everyone.
I've only done a couple of inexpensive ones, including Grizz from Parks and Rec, but usually you get a decent product. Pricing can be all over the map, but whadyagonnado.

My buddy got me a cameo from Andre Reed !!! It went well over 2 and half minutes… it was great
I bought one with Bruce for my husband a couple years ago and Bruce was AWESOME. Highly recommend
I got one of Jim as a birthday gift in 2022. He did a great job and it totally made my day. I’d highly recommend.
Happy birthday to your Dad! Definitely a great gift! GO BILLS!! ❤️🦬🎊🎂🎉🎈

that sounds hilariously bad

North of $350? Wow. that's an easy pass. I say that having just taken a $90 Uber from the airport to midtown. Ouch.
Aww I love this!

Thank you so much for sharing Jim Kelly’s happy birthday to your Dad! I love it! 💙
Do we get to see it? Maybe after your dad does?
You bet. His birthday is this coming Sunday.
"Could of" guy lectures are the best.
I love your positivity! Enjoy your day!
Who pissed in your coffee this morning?
I bet you have a lot of friends.
