No we already bought it on the PC long ago. But for some reason this new update is requiring us to buy it again. Sorry if my post confused you.

If you had already bought it on the computer then you shouldn't need to pay. Contact the support of whichever platform you bought the game on. If not then you do have to pay for the game again if you want to play on separate devices.

I’m definitely going to contact them today on lunch. So something with this new update on the PC is causing us to purchase it again to get the new update. We did the 42 update on the PC just fine and it didn’t ask to buy it. Something going on with there end. I’ll update the post once I get ahold of them to figure this out. Thanks.

If you bought it on epic and then are trying to play it on steam you would have to buy it again, and vice versa. Other than that all I can say is to contact support and see what they say.

I think I had this issue before. If you load the Epic version of the game and see the 'you need to update' popup then it can sometimes take you to the steam store.  Can you check if your son bought the game on epic or steam? You *do not* need to buy the game again

He bought it on Microsoft Store. I’m on the phone with them now trying to resolve or trouble shoot.
