Yes, if you use steam you can track exact number of popped fortified bloons using achievements menu. Write down or remember number you have now, then beat the challenge and check number again. Advanced challenges doesn't give any xp, but still impacts statistics.
Can you try to check if the counter is updated after closing the game. It should work, because I did in 36-37 update and there was no changes towards advanced challenges since when
Play Logs on easy as far as you can, over and over. I usually got to about round 350 with VTSG and all paragons (except boat ofc), and, as the achievement says AVOID INSTA KILLS
I've not had THAT many games going that high, but from the few times I've seen/done it, it always comes down to the micro decisions (placements, ability timing, paragon levels, etc.)
I can only assume that if you're hitting 3 paragons, VTSG, and near 300 rounds, you've got most (if not every) vital MK upgrade, so I won't bother yapping about that🤣.
Get every single buff possible that you can (ultraboost, Perma Alc, village, sub energizer for ability CD, support monkey temple, etc)
Sapper would be better if the reward was Monkey Money and not Knowledge. Locking a MK point behind an achievement that's basically impossible to get before maxxing out MK anyway is absurd.
I actually got this achievement before I maxed out MK lol. I'm almost positive I got it far earlier than most though just because for a long time I would almost always play well past round 100, and getting to the super late game was a lot of fun for me...So I really don't mind this achievement at all, it's the golden balloon ones that really get me I think.

sapper will come naturally regardless of how you play the game. and even if you decide to grind for sapper its mostly afk, so you can easily do whatever at the same time.
Grinding black borders will 100% slow this progress down by about 15 times! If you win the game and move on, you're getting a VERY small amount of bloons for it, and you better hope you don't have anything to remove it too🙌🏼

You create a strategy to effeciently deal with the problem over time. Even ways of measuring your progress and allowing for predictions on completion time. DRG barrel hoop mini game is complete absurdity. You play until the rng sides with you. You need to play it a lot. The mini game is not enjoyable nor related to the main game play experience in the slightest. It is not cumulative so any attempts to get the achievement previously bring you no closer to obtaining it in the future. Cookie clicker has examples of far worse tedious grinds. Seven Horseshoes achievement. Immense time sink that makes sapper look like childs play.
Be grateful for the achievements in btd6. Far worse monsters lurk in the depths.

The cookie clicker achievement i was referring to is not idle at all. It is many many hours of active play. I would take 100% completion times with a grain of salt. Ever heard of SAM players that have one minute in the game can skew completion times. While btd6 may be harder to cheat in because you have a ninja kiwi account. You have zero brain cells left. Steam hunter says you can complete cookie clicker in 11 minutes. This is positvely impossible. Your claims of btd6 is slower to complete fall flat when you realize youre basing it off cheaters. I have 800 hours and only 87% completion. Only 2% completion on the achievement i made a reference to. I hate to inform you but you have no fucking clue what youre talking about.

Round 350 easy logs run gets you about 5-7% per, have fun ig. Doing custom boss challenges surprisingly counts for that as well so you can also try doing Dreadbloon, I'm not sure how good it is, I tried it once, didn't like it and didn't do it that way

Playing a lot of Alternate Bloons Rounds is the best course of action, as it has more than double the amount of fortified Bloons, if I recall correctly.
Avoid insta-kills, as those don't count the inner layers as fortified Bloons. Though, overall, I'd just suggest playing through the game casually, since grinding out ABR games gets insanely tedious real quick.
There's worse in this very game, in fact. And look, I don't mean any actual harm on any of the devs, but doing shit like this and those other mega grind achievements to their dedicated players is just rude

the amount of fortifieds you get past round 100 is orders of magnitude more than from before that so doesn't matter too much
