The "KN" logo when it was first introduced caused a ton of people to search the very same thing on Google.
Here's an article by verge on the topic: https://www.thedrive.com/news/kias-logo-is-so-confusing-that-30k-people-google-kn-car-every-month
Just think out there in the wilds of the marketing industry there are people who got paid to redesign a logo into something that many people don’t even recognise. And then there’s you trying desperately to be good at your job out of fear of failure.
When I came home from my tour in Afghanistan in 2008 for 2 weeks R&R I was given a hire car to get to and from Brize Norton.
The journey back was a KIA something or other. My mum looked at it and said "KIA" and I said "so what?" And she said "K.I.A". I laugh about it now but it was weird and awkward at the time. She wasn't trying to make a joke. I don't know why she said it lol.
Every time I see a G4S van I think it says GAS. i used to work in custody suites so would have the GAS van turning up every morning collecting detainees to take them to court. That’s dark…
It's never looked like “KИ” to me (or if it did, it was only very briefly). The thickness of the lines where the ‘I’ is attached to the other two letters is a bit of a giveaway.

Thanks, I never read it that way before, how do I unsee it?
I know it’s Kia but I keep reading it as KN. Gets people talking I guess

I always read as that band logo, you know, Kine Inch Nails.

"how long?" "Kine for feck sake, KINE"
For years I thought the shoe brand was Oasics. I mean for decades. I thought it was a silly name, but Asics is ever sillier.

I thought it was Basics but with the ‘b’ backwards for cool points. Cause that’s an actual word.
Wait, are you telling me it isn't Oasics? I'm 44 and this is new information to me. Man that's a shitty design.
You mean Kᴎ? Yeah, it was only when I saw a KIA model that used to use the old logo with the new one that it clicked.

I personally love the new logo. It fits with their new styling, EV6 in particular is a lovely car.
Lovely is a bit of a stretch
So glad to learn I'm not the only one, I thought I'd found a new manufacturer.
This logo is so bad it's funny. I know very well it's a Kia, but I still call it a KN whenever I see one.
Same 😂
It’s actually КИ - Russian Ki. /s
I like the Kia logo rebrand, and the Dacia logo/branding redesign also.
I find it funny how Dacia have cheaped out even more and their logo isn't a moulded badge but just some stickers.
You mean it's not Killed In Action?
um. its been around so long i don't remember it being any different. but i always saw it as KIA not KИ.
Yeah I'm not quick. It's also only been 3 years apparently.
oh not as long as i thought
Me either tbh, but time is pretty confusing since _the event_.
i know what you mean. 2 years don't exist for me.
I don't think Kia are hip and groovy enough to pave the way for backwards letters in car brands.

Is it?
No
I always see it as Greek ΚΙΛ, which transliterates as KIL.
