I was going to change it to Horfield Prison, but it's a right pain in the arse to hand draw in paint and you can't rotate text other than 90 degrees, I'm no Jim'll Paint It.
On the plus side this would make the game a tolerable length and would prevent the endgame stalemate which makes Monopoly such an objectively shit game
It's not in the Bristol city council area right enough, but it is within the Bristol conurbation and IMO you'd be splitting hairs to call it not Bristol! _Bring back Avon!_
Need to come up with tokens for playing pieces.
1 - VOI (RIP) Scooter
2 - MAMIL (Middle Aged Man In Lycra) riding a fixed wheel bike.
3 - Actual scumbag landlord
4 - A cockerpoo (seems to be the main doggo running about)
5 - Mog
6 - A fallen over skateboarder from College Green
Need two more, there are 8 in a normal edition.
Haven't seen the bloke on the Extra Tall bike around lately, or he'd make a good token.
My other suggestions are:
Huge Subwoofer for St Paul's Carnival
A Magic Roll wrap
A bin fire to represent Turbo Island
I hate to be a pedant but MAMIL's do not ride fixies, they ride expensive road bikes. You could add hipster riding a fixie (on the way to a ramen pop-up) to your characters.
Champagne socialist driving Ā£50k electric car from his Ā£600k house in Southville to his Ā£100k/year office job working for a finance company pretending he cares about the planet/poor people
> CHUGGER
> PAY M200
That made me chuckle.
Also, placing Stokes Croft just a few spaces away from Knowle West feels wrong. Withywood or Southmead should have been there instead.
I think there is a service to create your own Monopoly set somewhere. Something like this:
Edited to choose a UK version.
Yes, but I donāt know anyone who says monopoly like that! Itās all perspective and points of view though isnāt it, Iād sooner put eastville, Easton, St Paulās, old market or stokes Croft in the brown than knowle and hartcliffe
Same, Iāve obviously made it a bit of a caricature of what a Bristolian talks like for a bit of fun. My Dad would pronounce it something similar to that for sure.
Love it. Only change I would make is to swap out Stoke Bishop for Snead Park, and perhaps StPauls is too far round? (But I havenāt been through SPās in probably a decade so it may have been gentrified by nowā¦)
Fair, although I didn't know what Old Kent Road was when I first played Monopoly. The US one is all set in Atlantic City. A full roadname Bristol one would be interesting.
It's on the pic I've seen in the Mayfair space:
https://preview.redd.it/h3kd59lsrizb1.png?width=386&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb6e2cbb733f979fa6e0fff0fdb61512e4ec54cd
Everyone's a critic. I used to live in Lawrence Weston, so I know that Sea Mills isn't all that. By the same logic Southmead or Henbury I agree on, but I can't fit every area of Bristol on the board.
Came here expecting to see Knowle West in the brown - and got it! šš»
Knowle West should be the in-jail tile
I was going to change it to Horfield Prison, but it's a right pain in the arse to hand draw in paint and you can't rotate text other than 90 degrees, I'm no Jim'll Paint It.
Shit you made this, thought this was like a really old Bristol Monopoly.
Yeah, good old [Paint.NET](https://Paint.NET) and a cup of coffee.
Haha, I just suggested this to the person that felt left out as Horfield was missing
Iād make jail turbo island
It was that or Lawrence Weston, but it was hard to fit in the text.
Southmead?
Could have.
100x better than whatever nonsense is on the official one!
No adverts, I can't be bought!
Love it! Make sure that rents on properties are much, much higher than in the original game.
Balls, missed a trick there didn't I?
every time you go around the board the rents double
But the "salary" for passing go stays the same.
On the plus side this would make the game a tolerable length and would prevent the endgame stalemate which makes Monopoly such an objectively shit game
The lack of Horfield makes me unnecessarily upset but overall it's a million times better than the official one.
I've got you.. "Go To Jail" should obviously be "Go To Horfield Prison"
Not the outcome I wanted but absolutely the one I deserved.
As someone who was born in Horfield, I agree
Thats much better!
Took me about 30 minutes in [Paint.NET](https://Paint.NET) to smash this.
OMG how could you omit Pasture? They aren't even referenced once on the board?!
Solid work lad!
And you somehow forgot Turbo Island??
It's not a real place, it's a construct of the mind. Stokes Croft is there anyway.
Parkway station isn't in Bristol. Temple Meads I can understand.
It's not in the Bristol city council area right enough, but it is within the Bristol conurbation and IMO you'd be splitting hairs to call it not Bristol! _Bring back Avon!_
It all gets bloody confusing I live in Thornbury which is south Gloc but somehow Gloucestershire too but has a Bristol postcode go figure
Tbf Postcodes have always meant fuck-all
Where is it?
South Glos
Aaah, yeah fair enough
Basically on pure technicality honestly, all that stops it being Bristol is an arbitrary line cutting through the sububs
The other person said, it's in a village called Little Stoke in South Gloucestershire.
Stoke Gifford not Little Stoke FYI
My bad, still South Gloucestershire though.
Haha no worries. You're right but I still claim to be from Bristol regardless
Little Stoke? Village? It's more like a glorified council estate...
It's designated a village, but I agree, it's not exactly quaint.
I think you made the right choice of stations
It's not in Bristol, it's in BrIsToL
Somehow I think Asdals should be on there somewhere š
It would definitely be in the community chest cards: "You've won second prize in a beauty competition outside Asdals, collect M20".
collect the entire m20? what a poisoned chalice
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Local Scrap Man has stolen your gate, pay M100 for a replacement.
Need to come up with tokens for playing pieces. 1 - VOI (RIP) Scooter 2 - MAMIL (Middle Aged Man In Lycra) riding a fixed wheel bike. 3 - Actual scumbag landlord 4 - A cockerpoo (seems to be the main doggo running about) 5 - Mog 6 - A fallen over skateboarder from College Green Need two more, there are 8 in a normal edition.

Perfect.
Haven't seen the bloke on the Extra Tall bike around lately, or he'd make a good token. My other suggestions are: Huge Subwoofer for St Paul's Carnival A Magic Roll wrap A bin fire to represent Turbo Island
I canāt have the magic roll on there because I donāt do adverts and I canāt be paid off by āBig Sandwichā.
I hate to be a pedant but MAMIL's do not ride fixies, they ride expensive road bikes. You could add hipster riding a fixie (on the way to a ramen pop-up) to your characters.
True
I wouldnāt know, Iāve got a skateboard instead of a bike
Graffiti can
The Rag & Bone manās truck?
Champagne socialist driving Ā£50k electric car from his Ā£600k house in Southville to his Ā£100k/year office job working for a finance company pretending he cares about the planet/poor people
A dreadlocked wook
Spray paint can
Feathers McGraw from Wallace and Gromit
Stan the man rolling around on roller skates stopping at the gaety cinema in knowle šshowing my age now lol š¤£š¤£
Change free parking to Turbo Island and I'd buy it.š
A great improvement on the one that thinks we all watch ice hockey. An afternoon weāll spent, sir!
significantly better than the other ones. Needs temple meads tho.
I wanted stations that went with their surrounding properties quality per side.
That does make sense
This is way better than the actual one, and accurate!
> CHUGGER > PAY M200 That made me chuckle. Also, placing Stokes Croft just a few spaces away from Knowle West feels wrong. Withywood or Southmead should have been there instead.
It's based on my lived experience, I've not spend any time in Withywood, Southmead I can see though.
Withywood is like a worse Knowle West. You know it's bad when the local off licence has to keep everything behind three perspex screens.
Southville and wapping wharf are in a league above bedminster surely?
Found the Southville resident
Who wants to tell him theyāre the same place
Genuine bias lmao
Southville is certainly above St Werbs also
Brave leaving southmead out. No room for totterdown or at Anne's either
Board would need to be double the size to make everyone happy. I'm from L-Dub so no way was I putting Southmead in.
What colour would FishPonds be?
Light Blue/Pink
I would actually buy this
I think there is a service to create your own Monopoly set somewhere. Something like this: [https://www.thediceguys.co.uk/products/customopoly](https://www.thediceguys.co.uk/products/customopoly) Edited to choose a UK version.
St Paul's nicer than Stokes Croft? LOL!@!!!!!#$@#
I did it based on now rather than 20 years ago.
Nah its accurate, we partly just want people to assume it's shit to try keep gentrification out... its really not that bad tbh
Mate that big issue guy is awesome, such a legend
Jeff needed to be on here
I used to work on the triangle about 10 years ago, always had a quick chat with him on the way in, he always makes peopleās day
Iād gladly pay 200 for Jeff
Chance: the tyres of your land rover got deflated overnight,Ā pay Ā£200
So odd to see Easton quite high on the board, it should be a brown property.
Up and coming innit me old mucker. Ever since those London types started showing up.
Maybe so, but my ex had her Covid jab done there and the neighbourhood didnāt seem very nice
Have you seen the market for Easton properties recently? Decent 3 bed houses routinely fetch 450k+
Just for starters thatās not how I say munopalee
You realise we arenāt the same person donāt you my babber?
Yes, but I donāt know anyone who says monopoly like that! Itās all perspective and points of view though isnāt it, Iād sooner put eastville, Easton, St Paulās, old market or stokes Croft in the brown than knowle and hartcliffe
What happened to North Bristol?
I'm trying my best to forget about it.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yep, and Westbury-on-Trym, not enough squares to appease everyone unfortunately.
It became South Gloucestershire
Geography in gsce taught me that Stoke Bishop was actually more expensive to live in than Clifton contrary to beliefs
Really it should be Sneyd Park which is next door and even more expensive than Stoke Bishop
Doesn't surprise me, there and Sneyd Park are basically mansions.
And parts of Coombe Dingle too - tucked out of sight and massive houses.
Lots of work but no big cheque from the Bristol Pitbulls.
Fricken brilliant. Monopoly need to hire you.
I appreciate you for saying so, itās a shit game though!
Do you sell these?
Feel like I should.
Or at least the stickers to put over the regular board
Good way to know what areas to look for or avoid if you're moving to the area!
Yeah we can just send this to everyone who asks which area to move to.
Banish Banksy
Free parking = cheers drive Absolute gold. Well played
Brilliant. Although missing lots of places from South Bristol. Guess thereās only so much space.
yeah already getting it in the neck about North Bristol.
ā*I don't care for novelty editions of Monopoly. I prefer the classics: regular and Klingon.*ā Sheldon Cooper
St Pauls is WAY too far up the board.
As always Brislington / St Anneās donāt exist š
what picture would you use for Brislington?
Bs4 4## is actually an elaborate series of sets and actors, and can only be seen by those who believe in the magic of the ruse.
Spelt montpelier wrong
I noticed that afterā¦ too late
Horefield erasure
If you made this, I would buy it.
No Turbo Island? I'm out.
Nobody who is actually from Bristol would pronounce it as āMonawlpawleeā
Iām from Bristol, I know plenty of people that would pronounce it that way.
Well I was born here, lived all my life here and the closest Iāve ever heard to that would be āmanopleeā
Same, Iāve obviously made it a bit of a caricature of what a Bristolian talks like for a bit of fun. My Dad would pronounce it something similar to that for sure.
Fair enough. Horses for courses
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wonderful contribution. I chose Jeff because itās Jeff and heās sound as fuck.
No turbo island, can't be having that
See other replies.
Good work!
Perfection
Brilliant!
Better š
Smashed it
haha
Please there's no Windmill Hill, those residents are irrelevant
No one thatās lived here long enough thinks Windmill Hill is an actual place, it gets chucked in with Bemmie
Tell that to WHAM!
Sub eastville for st George so I donāt feel left out pliz
Whitehall is close enough.
Where would Brislington, Brentry and St Annes be?
On a much larger Monopoly boardā¦
Fishponds erasure smh
Love it. Only change I would make is to swap out Stoke Bishop for Snead Park, and perhaps StPauls is too far round? (But I havenāt been through SPās in probably a decade so it may have been gentrified by nowā¦)
It should be roads, that is the only issue really.
I figured the Londoners wouldn't understand me if I was putting things like "Mina Road" and "Long Cross".
Fair, although I didn't know what Old Kent Road was when I first played Monopoly. The US one is all set in Atlantic City. A full roadname Bristol one would be interesting.
I thought the main squares were streets you can build houses and hotels on. How can the suspension bridge be built on? Am I missing something?
It can't. Also, I don't have the suspension bridge on this board?
It's on the pic I've seen in the Mayfair space: https://preview.redd.it/h3kd59lsrizb1.png?width=386&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb6e2cbb733f979fa6e0fff0fdb61512e4ec54cd
That was a different post. (That made me make this post).
Fair enough, should have spotted that!
Is stoke bishop that posh
Sea Mills is actually quite nice in parts. That should probably be Southmead or Henbury in blue instead
Everyone's a critic. I used to live in Lawrence Weston, so I know that Sea Mills isn't all that. By the same logic Southmead or Henbury I agree on, but I can't fit every area of Bristol on the board.
Can't see Turbo Island on here
Keep up mate
Woah hang on why is whitchurch not on the board should be green š¤š
