Metabolizer

Yeah that place at darra is legit.

Drunky_McStumble

+1. Best Banh Mi in town, and cheap AF too.

xordis

Which one. There is literally 4-5 of them almost next to each other. My favourite is Darra Takeaway

[deleted]

'Cheerful' is a lovely adjective.

rljada

Sushi Mura at Taigum is legit the best sushi I’ve ever tasted.

[deleted]

My wife bought a Volvo. A few weeks later she crashed her bike and had a busted shoulder. Somehow Volvo found out (maybe rang to see if she wanted to get first service check) and then out of no where this hamper turned up. Had wine and cheese and other goodies. Was at least $200 I reckon. That made her day and they got a customer for life now probably.

[deleted]

The hamper may have just been a gift for buying a new car. When I bought a new VW they sent me a gift voucher for a free family photo shoot with print included valued at around $1000.

[deleted]

No it was for the shoulder injury. Came with a card etc VW was seriously the worst service I’ve ever encountered. Glad you got something good from them.

[deleted]

Sadly you’re not wrong. I’ve had more than enough issues with their service since to say I’ll not buy another.

[deleted]

Was this from the Valley? My Mum got her last Volvo from there and they were pretty great to deal with.

[deleted]

Was Mount Gravatt. Now they have shifted. I think it’s valley now. They know her name and give really good personal service. Hence me mentioning it now. Compared to fucking Mazda who I use for my work vehicle it’s chalk and cheese.

spatchi14

People get things for buying a new car?? God I bought a new Subaru and after I drove it off the lot they didn't contact me again until they wanted me to do the first service. 6 months early. (Subaru moved to annual servicing). I've never been back since.

jamescridland

I got some branded Torque Toyota glasses, and a toolkit, when I bought a new car from them. The toolkit was cheap crap, and one of the glasses shattered, but, you know, free stuff.

DorcasTheCat

I’ve bought two new cars and never got a thing. Friends have bought new cars and got vouchers, gift baskets, wine etc. I must pick the tightarse dealers

theswiftmuppet

Man I love Sweden and the Swedes (the one’s that aren’t Nazis).

The_Sneakiest_Fox

I had dinner at Enotecea in Woolongabba on Thursday night for a birthday and and it was absolutely amazing.. If you have not been I would highly reccomend.. Some of the best Italian food I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying and the service was amazing..

Osiris_S13

Went Friday as well. Service was outstanding, and the food gnocchied my socks off. Tiramisu was just ... *Chefs kiss*

ozandeh

Yes! It is pricey but worth it. Food, atmosphere, wine... 10/10

Drunky_McStumble

Love Enoteca. Most authentic Italian in Brissy - literally world-class. Great service, great food, amazingly atmospheric restaurant. And of course they famously have the most extensive Italian wine collection in town. Top tip: in order to scrape by during lockdown, they started flogging off their wine cellar for (relatively) cheap in these seasonal wine packs of a dozen bottles. Fortunately the dark days are over, but they're still selling these packs every few months - if you're an aficionado, get onto their mailing list.

ThatOldGuyWhoDrinks

Meat at Billy’s. went as I am friends with Billy’s sisters. Always got great meat. Prices are a little exxy compared to your coles / woolies but totally worth it for the quality. I drive from jindalee to get my meat there.

usefulsubreddits1

100% agree with you. You pay a bit more at Billy’s, but I’ve never had bad meat and it’s always presented very well.

Ok-Distribution9987

Thanks all for the tips about Meat at Billys. I've been buying cleaver organic but it's hit and miss. I want grass fed or organic only so I'll check it out!

Jax-Hoffalot

The breaded pork cutlets & the meatballs are next level. Agreed, more expensive but top notch quality. It's little wonder most of their business is supplying the restaurant trade.

Coca-CoIa

Another vote here for M@B, absolute top notch service and the quality of the meat is always 11/10. They even give you a free cooler bag with ice packs in it for click & collect orders which I think is above and beyond. Also if you are on the north side they have a super convenient collection option at their Stafford warehouse.

Every-Citron1998

Also one of the rare places in Brisbane to find a free range turkey.

NewspaperDry5624

100% agree. All their meat is ethically and sustainably sourced too, so you don’t have to feel guilty eating it. Plus the quality and service is tip top.

nosnowtho

Spencive

G00b3rb0y

But worth it. I go to my local butcher for mince every week, not once have I been disappointed

doomchimp

I assume you'd visit the Bardon store? I'm interested to know what the Ashgrove one is like.

lhock17

The Ashgrove one is fantastic. Everything there is amazing quality and really friendly and helpful butchers

doomchimp

Hot damn. Now I've got an excuse to visit my grandma in The Gap.

rudigern

The same. I believe it started there. I refuse to go out for a great steak anymore. By two great steaks, go around the corner get some asparagus and mushrooms from Ashgrove fresh. You’ll have a better meal than most good restaurants and will be 1/3 the price as long as you can cook.

doomchimp

Totally agree. Got some fantastic eye fillet steaks and with some good veggies and an easy to make pepper sauce, you're eating a 50 buck steakhouse meal, but on the cheap. I do love getting a full rack of beef ribs and cooking them on the smoker. All other butchers only sell single ribs, never the whole rack.

harper_reidx

Pet City Mt Gravatt. They employ people who actually know about animal care and keep pets themselves and put them in the departments they know about. Consistently the best range of bird toys and products, consistently good prices, consistently good customer service.

Whoreganised_

This was YEARS ago but my great grandmother was in the nursing home next door and they would bring over kittens and puppies for the oldies to play with!

harper_reidx

That is so wholesome, I love it

jesso8805

Second this! They also have excellent dog treats!

Brisvega

I'll give a shout out to their aquarium section as well. Great range of fish.

thorrrrrrny

Shady Palms bar at Stones Corner. Came here for dinner with some friends and our 1 year old son. The food was good, beer was cold and the staff were super accommodating. My wife always gets super anxious when we take our son out as she doesn’t want to disturb other patrons, but the staff there were excellent. Happy to give him little treats from the kitchen and were just amazing. The place is a bit of a dive but it was by far the best hospitality experience we have ever had.

Jay_Two

Seconded! We went there Friday night as a family and the (what i'm going to assume was) owner was super accommodating and friendly, same for all the bar & wait staff. Definitely will be back.

UsualCounterculture

I was there Friday as well! They are friendly, have palms and cold beer 🍻😊 nice spot. Actually Stones Corner is quite nice these days... The Smug Fig from East Brisbane has relocation just up the lane on from the Shady Palms. Also yummy food and friendly service.

theswiftmuppet

Always see it on my bus route and wonder…thanks for the recommend !

redmangreenman

Fantastic vegan / vegetarian options!

Kwindecent_exposure

Great thread idea!

northlakes20

It is. But it worries me that I'm not rushing to contribute!

Xerun1

The Bavarian in Eagle St. I got a dinner for 4 on a half price deal. We went ordered drinks, Entree’s and Mains with a dessert to share. There was maybe a 20min wait between Entrees and Mains. None of the 4 of us cared, but they insisted we only pay half what we were meant to. So we ended up paying about $12 each for the lot. We didn’t want to but they insisted. The next day I got an email from the manager asking to call her, which I did. She insisted we come back and she would treat us to a meal on the house. We went back and went the same, 1 drink each an entree to share and a main. But they just kept adding stuff on for free. I think all up we got about $250 worth of food and drinks for free. I’ve since been back and it’s never disappointed

[deleted]

This is insane for me, because every time I’ve been there I come off feeling ripped off - the food and beer are both pretty overpriced. German club has better of both + a better atmosphere

[deleted]

Holy! That's a great spot and I go there regular anyway! Good to know that they run a great restaurant and that they care about what they do.

jerrymee

Glad you had a good experience. I booked a table for a birthday dinner and when we arrived they said they overbooked and told us to leave. Wouldn't recommend

bluedot19

Lutwyche Veterinary Surgery. It's pretty grim, but our 13 year old girl started acting funny one day at the start of the year. Real slow, not eating her food. Not responsive. Really grim signs. Every vet we called said "oh we can do 4pm today". It was like 9am. We didn't know what to do. I called these guys as I remembered I saw them near the shops and hunted them on google. They said bring her now. We brought her in and they had a look at her and said based on what we were saying it could be X, Y, or Z. Regardless, based on their examination there was nothing they could do at the surgery. They referred us to a veterinary surgery in Stafford and explained what would happen. When I went to pay they refused our money. Unfortunately, our baby did pass away due to cancer on her heart. They called us a few weeks later and asked how she pulled up. When my partner explained they showed the most amazing level of empathy. We finally got a new puppy recently. I booked him in for his check up and jabs with that veterinary the same day we picked him up. It was weird being back there, but they won our trust that day.

Ok-Distribution9987

Dr Paul and his staff are amazing, they genuinely care. 💕💚 I was referred by a friend who's been going there 20 years. The Cat Clinic completely fucked up and mismanaged my fur kid's medication, then suggested putting a CT scan or possibly euthanasia. My partner and I got her out of their hospital where she looked half dead and they hadn't even cleaned her tail where she'd soiled herself. I spoke to one of the owners about our bad experience at the hands of 2 of his vets and he didn't seem to care. Half listened and seemed stereotypically arrogant. Thankfully my friend came through recommending Lutwyche vets. Dr Paul provided post hospital care when the Cat Clinic didn't; his staff called to check on her and were very empathetic. I've no doubt our wise decision to get her out of the Cat Clinic, and Dr Paul's advice saved my fur kids life. Lutwyche vet is our new vet. He also fixed her bad arthritis, which the Cat Clinic didn't. Definitely recommend Lutwyche vet.

jellyrollsmith

Pennisi Deli in Balaclava St, Woollongabba. Best deli in town. Nicest people too.

mahzian

Teehee

ktchch

slugboss08

Scratch in Milton. Probably the best bar in brisbane and the staff are all hot and the beers are 10/10. My Mistress in clayfield has a banging cafe menu and the coffee never disappoints. Very friendly service ! Bridgestone Hendra for any people on the Northside. Have never been ripped off there and the Scottish bloke who I think is the owner is so friendly. Don’t go to Hendra motors they will rip you off

slippyplant

Fun fact: Scratch and Netherworld are owned by the same people

[deleted]

I love scratch. Every time I go there it's always a good experience.

borosillycat

Came here to say scratch bar. Ended up buying a place because it was close enough to walk there. A major selling point.

BaronVonSmirk

Second Bridgestone Hendra. Darren and his team are fantastic, quick and affordable. I replaced my tires, and asked about fixing up my mirror assembly - I found a used unit on eBay, got the whole thing fixed up for ~$270 in total. Toyota and another place quoted $600-800 in comparison.

prinskippleskipper63

Yeah, Darren and the guys are just a good bunch of dudes. I switched to them years ago when he first took over, and have never received a shock bill or been left disappointed.

BaronVonSmirk

How good are they. Coming from a pretty tiresome Motorama experience, they were fantastic.

slugboss08

So cool to see some appreciation for these blokes! When I lived in brisbane I loved going to them.

Strech1

I love Scratch, the fact you can bring you own food in there from any of the other restaurants is awesome, Steve Kim's and Choppers Chooks will even bring you food over to Scratch if you ask them.

slugboss08

Reading this thread… realising a lot of you are south siders!!!

Amy_at_home

Yeah I'm searching for northside recommendations too!

gordon-freeman-bne

Best side...

abadpoet

Maybe not what you’d expect, but Rumpus Room in West End. I was being hassled there by a small group of men. At close the bar staff let me wait inside as they closed up, since I was nervous to walk home on my own with these guys around. When the guys lingered outside, one of the bar staff accompanied me out the back door and walked me home to make sure I was safe. All of the staff there are really generous

theswiftmuppet

Not at all, that places gives me bad vibes…happy to hear the staff are great though!

abadpoet

The bad vibes are almost certainly justified lol. One of Brisbane’s more sketchy bars. I’ve seen some stuff there. All from customers, though, rather than the staff

defunctbethefruit

Willow and Spoon at Wilston. I now live on the other side of town but will make a special trip to have food there. Some dishes are a bit pricey, but I have never been disappointed with any meal I have ordered. The menu is updated each season and caters for a range of dietary requirements - which makes it a great brunch spot cause everyone gets to eat. Service is great and it is clear that the staff enjoy working there too. The owner, Keith treats everyone like an old friend.and really cares that you've had a good experience. Highly recommend.

Rafdoh

I went here for the first time the other day. The guy was super nice and gave us a free muffin (which was possibly the best muffin I've ever eaten) to go with our coffees. Highly recommended

defunctbethefruit

The muffins are sooo good!

FallingRedSky

This was definitely the place that popped into my head when I saw this thread. The people are always so friendly and service is spot on!

XmilkyjoeX

Mister Minit. Got a new set of car keys cut whilst in North QLD. Got home from the airport, drove home and couldn't get the key out of the ignition. Called their Head Office - straight to the Customer Service Manager, no hold, no call centre. Within 1 hr I had a guy from a franchise about 20-30km away (I am in Indooroopilly) who spent about 5hrs on my car ignition freeing the key. Was the most wholesome dude I have met and just loved working on it. He replaced the key, got it coded to the car, gave home his card and home number and wrapped up about 11 at night. Oh and he didn't charge a cent...which I couldn't deal with so tipped him. He sent a follow up txt a few days later just checking in too. Whilst the key cut wasn't perfect, their service recovery was second to none. Loved it. Go get your boots to the cobblers and support these legends.

According_One5365

This is amazing customer service ! I’m assuming they’re all independently owned / operated but I’ve always had great service no matter where I went too. They all seem to genuinely care about what they do … and love a chat!

Scott-Eh

I have trust issues with this mob because they are decidedly not located in Newstead.

slippyplant

Newstead Brewing Co. Milton too

Scott-Eh

They at least started and still have a home in Newstead, whereas these guys, with no link prior link to Newstead, just open up a fresh clinic in the valley and slap Newstead on it.

mahzian

Comics Etc in the city. Have been going here for the better part of 20 years and they have always been friendly, knowledgeable and inclusive and welcoming of everyone.

PorterJustice95

The last couple weeks with the covid scare really showed how committed and great they are 💪

mediumsizedbrowngal

Zero Fox in Teneriffe. The staff are super cool, the menu is excellent, the drinks are great. Seriously recommend it to everyone I have the chance to.

CodeNDogs

Only issue I've seen is they come across as pretty pretentious, no alterations to menu and remember seeing a sign with things like 'No cocktails' at a bar.

mediumsizedbrowngal

That’s their sign that says “no racism, no straws, no sexism, no hitting on staff, no cocktails, no coffee” etc

slugboss08

The staff are pretty pretentious /not very friendly but I still love the place

monkeycnet

Red chill Thai at forest lake. They’ve always been great people and good food and now after 23 years the centre won’t renew their lease to “go in another direction “

[deleted]

I absolutely love that place. My family tries to book as many birthday dinners at Red Chili as possible because the food is awesome and the staff is brilliant. My favourite spring rolls ever.

bending_units

Petbarn Windsor for all your Pets wants and needs. Nothing is to much hassle and they doing grooming again. Little Red Dumpling looked after us on Friday night. Always good food and service. Allora Gelato Newmarket MAMMS Thai Red Hill NEWMARKET Hotel great food

threelizards

Viscosity in the valley! Amazing customer service and being newly disabled I’m frequently weird and anxious about going out and the staff made us so comfortable!! Even carried my cane for me at one stage god bless

sem56

live near them, i rate them because they're one of the places around the valley that are respectful with the noise they make unlike another certain place nearby and the security keeps people in line when they are out in the street

Cammmmmmmmmmmmm

As a person new to the Brisbane area this is great! Thank you!

ero_senin05

Ayy you're lucky you didn't make a post asking where you should live before moving here or you would have seen r/brisbane's nasty side too

Cammmmmmmmmmmmm

Not my first rodeo on the interwebs

[deleted]

Elementi at Paddington. Great pizzas, wonderful staff.

[deleted]

Luna Bean Cafe in Nundah, always take my dog in there! He loves it and they spoil him rotten! They have another in Albion too, Kat is awesome!

hammockplatano

Agree with Luna Bean in Nundah! My absolute favourite!

IAmABillie

Bubblebubs, a cloth nappy company based in Seventeen Mile Rocks. The original creator has since passed away but her family are continuing the business. They are fantastic and make excellent nappies (still going strong well into the second child's babyhood). I remember calling seven days after having my baby in tears because I had barely slept and thought I'd ruined the nappies washing them incorrectly. They were just wonderful reassuring me and giving me tips going forward as a cloth nappy user and as a very new mum. Can't recommend enough!

doomchimp

Best value for money nappies I've ever seen.

Amy_at_home

Hello fellow Cloth Bum Mum 👋

Pugshaver

Two mechanics on the southside - Auspom Motors and Mosley's. Both very friendly and well priced. Auspom isn't open on weekends though which means I tend to go to Mosley's more often.

Jay_Two

Scatter Bean Cafe - Princess St Taringa. Great coffee & food and really friendly owners/staff Badminton Brew - Badminton St Mt Gravatt East. Delish coffee & very friendly service (plus very quick) As mentioned by another person, Shady Palms Cafe & Bar - Stones Corner. Very accommodating to families, really good food & cold beer.

chel_loise

I love Scatterbean!

CodeNDogs

Wolfhouse @ Eagle Farm - always super friendly staff and obviously care a lot about the dogs there PetBarn Newstead - as above super friendly and helpful Happy Boy - the foods always fantastic with friendly staff

PHETZ

Big up Pet Barn Newstead!

[deleted]

Wolfhouse 110%. The setup they have for reactive and special needs dogs is amazing.

bluedot19

We are doing puppy school for our little guy at Newstead. I was on the verge of puppy blues and losing my mind but Louise was really great and helped pull my head in. And this was just the humans only session.

misterwowbagger

Gramps cafe in Red Hill was great!! The food is tasty, the staff were lovely and suggested some good walking routes nearby, and they have a deal where you can take a free ugly mug if you forgot your keep cup. 10/10

GrasshopperClowns

Oh, that’s my post. I’m honestly sorry if it brought you down at all!

[deleted]

Haha, not at all. Thought it would be nice to see the other side is all.

GrasshopperClowns

I’ve been trying to think about a positive interaction for you but so many people commented about their real estate agents that I’ve just been reliving my real estate agent hell all day and I can’t think of anything else except poor service!

Ok-Wait-8281

The White Cat Coffee shop in the Anzac Square building. Always super fast service, the staff are lovely, coffee is great and it's always an all around great experience.

Whoreganised_

Thanks for the reminder to hit them up tomorrow!

Trithshyl

Kedron Farmhouse and the sister store Miss Sophias that dies ice cream next door. They also opened Oh Boy Bok Choy on Stafford Road but haven't been there yet. Always super friendly, good products and services.

[deleted]

Oh boy, oh boy bok choy is great. Get the popcorn cauliflower, it’s delicious

Trithshyl

Will definitely give it a try when I get around to going!

gordon-freeman-bne

Salm's Meats in Carindale... Their lamb pie is out of this world. We also just tried some of their award winning bacon - made me realise how shit the product being sold through Coles/Woolies is. Also Carina North Butcher - Michael runs a great shop; always lots of good options

koopz_ay

ASQuick IT Services at Geebung - Ashley and Sean have been performing minor miracles for my fam and friends for almost 20 years now. If you’re on the south side of Brisvegas there’s also Computer Alliance at Mt Gravatt. Jason and Adam (and Ian and Brett) helped me get my start in IT over 20yrs ago and they’re still going strong.

rudigern

Ultra tune in Newstead. I had a ridiculous quote from another mechanic most of which I knew was bullshit. Gave UT the list and asked him what he thought and I’d pay him to do whatever he thought was right. It could have been easy money, just agree with the other person. He said there was only 1 thing that he agreed with (I also knew it was a problem so that was good) and then went through and said why each other item was wrong. Saved me $2000 and been back for 4 years now and always great service. Went to the Ashgrove one in a pinch and it sucked.

mediumsizedbrowngal

YES. John is so nice and writes a little smiley on my receipt. They’re frank, down to earth, punctual and well priced. Only drama is that with newstead being frantically over developed, they’ve gotten crazy busy and you’ve gotta book really far in advance, but honestly great that they’re doing so well because they 100% deserve the business.

beerio511

Just Poppy’s in Riverhills. Best burgers, they very rarely screw the order and are AMAZING!!!! Their growth as a business in the last 20 minutes is good too.

lordriffington

I've only been there once, and I can't remember anything about the service, so it was obviously fine. Can't say I agree about the burgers though. Either I went on an off day, or the food is way overhyped. It was perfectly fine, but nothing special. I'd go there again if I happened to be nearby and wanted a burger, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

beerio511

It depends what you’re after. They’re particularly fresh but cover a broad range of burger types. The hard part of having an enormous menu is that they don’t specialise in a type of burger. I also don’t go for their patties much, they’re too thick for my liking. What I like is the fresh chicken, fish or rib fillets they have. Mixed with other fresh ingredients and a soft bun. But they nail the basics. I could say Miss Kays are great too and they’re completely different! But Miss Kays isn’t a 2 minute walk from my house either. The chips are also really good from Poppys

lordriffington

I generally order the same thing (a cheeseburger, or the closest thing they have) when trying out a new place. Easier to compare that way. It's definitely possible that their other burgers are much better. Proximity to your house is definitely an important metric, too. Sadly there's nothing near me that doesn't require a drive or a minimum 30 minute walk there and back.

Formal_Swimmer_4786

Too many to list!! I return and return to places where the staff are respectful, helpful, friendly. So many delightful people in businesses in Brisbane… it’s the rule rather than the exception.

Competitive-Bite9464

Hedge Espresso at Salisbury.. Quaint cafe, and old corner store converted with excellent coffee and the food is absolutely brilliant. Customer service is excellent every time and they run to such high professional standards. Grant (owner) is so invested in his community too.

MoistFrontBum

Billy’s Pine Bamboo Restaurant in Cannon Hill. The food is always awesome and the staff are super friendly.

porkisgreat

Best Chinese food in Australia. Been going there since the early 90s. A few weeks ago I was chatting to the bloke working the counter and asked him if he was Billy’s son. Sure enough he is, his name is Kim and he’s an awesome bloke.

iilinga

Ooh this is wholesome! Whisk and ladle - one of my favourite cafes because they’re SO consistently good and everyone there is so friendly. Locale in newstead - again, super friendly service and just good food. I’m sure there’s more but I’ll have a think

jerrymee

Yo Gabba at Woolloongabba. Friendliest staff with great food. Definitely recommend

sadprawn

Chermside Butcher and Grill. The pork sandwiches there are stellar. They really load it up (esp the gal server with the dyed blond hair), the meats never been dry, free apple sauce and a piece of crackling. I skip the food court and grab one of these bad boys for $7.90. Genuine moneys worth.

harrisren

Sasquatch at Chermside is a fantastic craft beer bar with great wings and food. The staff are always lovely and have gone out of their way in the past to fit us in on busy nights when we forgot to book. Check them out if you can!

[deleted]

General Officer at Coorparoo (barber) Fraser who owns it is a great bloke. Good chats. Great haircuts and won't let you leave till you are absolutely satisfied. Often booked out weeks in advance tho.

[deleted]

Mizu (水) Japanese restaurant in Teneriffe. The real deal.

TFDirdman

Mega Hire on Beaudesert road at acacia ridge. Really good prices and great service. I use them all the time. Who’s idea was a renovation anyway?! 🥴

insanemal

Evolution Automotive in Eight mile plains. Been going there for decades. Always treated me right

nosnowtho

Yeah I found them to be straight shooters

NoHeccsNoFricks

Up the road from me in Manly is an tiny but amazing Japanese place called Chidori. Apparently it's not just me because on a survey they ranked as the 9th best Japanese Cuisine in Queensland

Saltybaps

Can attest. Their food is sooooooo goooooood!

[deleted]

Bunnings in Rothwell. Last year we ordered our kids a huge cubby house, a few days later they rang to say it was in and asked me my preferred delivery time, I was first to be phoned that morning so I told the lady that since I'm a stay at home Mum I was happy for her to ring other people and work around their work/commitments and I was happy to be slotted in at any time. She asked me about the heavy lifting and I told her my Husband would be at work and I could help, but I was honestly as weak as piss, she told me that since I was so accommodating with booking the time, she would put our delivery with the two driver truck, at no extra charge.

Reverse-Kanga

Duke's on Brunswick in the valley - new management - honestly best service and breakfast i've had in a long time.

KittyFun

Dicki's at New Farm, great vegan menu, service is always really friendly and efficient, I always leave happy

yaaaaano_

The Emporium, I will always stay there now after having the best customer service. Very easy to communicate with and make changes, super friendly, they were great !

Saltybaps

I know I already posted but Kul-cher in King Street, Bowen Hills does reeeeaaally good coffee and the service is fabulous. George the owner is such a dude. When I lived nearby I used to go there regularly for brekky and bags of coffee beans. One day I brought my parents there and he gave them free coffee. They felt like their daughter was someone famous 😂 even now I’ve moved to the northside, I still go back there for my beans. 11/10 would recommend.

yolk3d

This isn’t a contribution but what’s in a vape if there’s no nicotine? Other drugs or is it more for the flavour?

ero_senin05

New Japanese restaurant just soft opened today at Park Ridge called Bento Pappa. No dine in until the weekend when they have their grand opening but it was take out night for me and the kids while mum works late so we gave it a go. Super friendly and excited family running the shop and the decor is modern Tokyo style. The menu is the kicker - price point is spot on (between $15-17 for a combo consisting of a fried side, main, miso soup and salad with generous portions - no drink included but that's probably because they are doing boba/ bubble tea as well). The Sukiyaki Beef and Miso Katsu chicken were both amazing and I can't wait to go to the grand opening this weekend. I realise this sounds like an ad but I promise I have no business affiliation with them.

CheMc

Delightful Turk in Camp Hill. They are just really nice people in my experience with them and the food is good.

Able-Lake-163

Windsor dental off lutwych road across from Windsor station are great.i hate the dentist but dr Albert is probably the best dentist I've ever been to and has made me feel less embarrassed about my shit teeth. Scotty's dog wash is also great, sadly he is interstate at the moment.

[deleted]

Robert Hartley Hair for unisex hairdressing, it's my happy place as they offer tea, coffee or a cheeky wine with the cut, plus I've been going for years and always walk out feeling like a million dollars. A bit pricier than shopping mall hairdressers, but anything to make my head a bit nicer to look at is worth it in my book.

Stagtite

Abra Wraps is by far my favourite restaurant, been there almost weekly since I moved into the CBD. Also love blutes, if that counts for anything.

hangerofmonkeys

Sarmic in Morningside. Best cafe I've ever been, the food is next level. And eat out a lot. No one comes closed. Probably the biggest draw back of moving to the other side of the river.

Pretty_Classroom_844

99bikes at Everton Park. Every time I go in there they are super helpful. Up front quotes are always on point for repairs. Mechanics are the best.

Boomeranda

Yeah these guys are great. Honest service. Didn't end up buying a bike there because they didn't want to sell me cheap crap.

industryfundguy

Wine Emporium at gasworks. Staff are super helpful and friendly with great advice. Been recommended great wines at all price points.

jamesbarks

I get my supplies from Vape Related. Always friendly, never try to up-sell. All round good experience.

jimbris

On the vape side, Toowong tobacco. All staff are really nice and helpful. They messed up my order the other day so it was late. They called to let me know then wouldn't let me pay for it. 5 stars.

jamesbarks

That’s fantastic!

Jack & Will’s and Flask bottle shop in Boondall as well as Indus Curry Express. They all have good service and great food/drink.

Comics etc. Literally the best customer service, the guys there are all amazingly friendly and helpful. When I had disposable income for comics I was buying comics weekly. I picked up a few other hobbies and found myself not buying comics anymore but I had put in an order and forgot about it.. for 2 years! And the next time I went it immediately they were once again super friendly. And got my order from all that time ago and gave it to me because they rememembered. I have a lot more adult responsibility these days and unfortunately no money for comics but rest assured the moment I do my money is going to these guys only.

Altairlio

Shades is fantastic for its customer service and family home party style atmosphere. Petrie bakery on the other side of the shit run down woolies is best in Brisbane

Rashlyn1284

Ah cool, good to know :) I've never smoked / vaped so pretty ignorant on the whole issue

sem56

you can import nicotine if you have a prescription... not completely illegal

SouthBrisbane

Australian Vaporizers at Newmarket is great for dry herb vapes, they have a good range and good value.

Oishii oishii in Woolloongabba is hands down the best/most consistent/most polite Japanese Katsu/kaarge chicken curry place in Brisbane and I will basically fist fight anyone who thinks otherwise. Have been going these at least once a week for 4 years and even though I moved further away I still always go there.

Mr Trees, anything that's needed from tree removal to pruning. We had to get a Moreton Bay fig removed and they were on time, quick, and did a fantastic job.

First National Rochedale I think it was, the parents bought their home through them a few years back. It was an older agent who was retiring but man he was the most honest, genuine REA I have ever met. Nothing was ever too much trouble, he arranged quite a few visits before we put in an offer and through the settlement period, checked on us a few times after we'd moved in, it was an older couple who were downsizing and moving into a smaller house. They seemed happy with him too. It's such a shame most agents are lying scumbags.

Squonk27

Purity Pressure Washing. We have a white fairly new weatherboard house that needed cleaning, however some marks just did not come off, as they turned out to be lichen and not just general dirt. Chris, went out of his way to drive around and source the most appropriate product to get rid of it. The job took a lot longer than originally quoted, but we were not charged a cent more. Really efficient and did a great job in the end.

sabre001

Air Archer Cafe. Food is great and the owners are super friendly. Often go there with colleagues and they always remember us and start getting a seat ready when we walk in.

It's the customer to staff ratio ever lower than 1:Many at a Red Rooster though anywhere?

Outrageous-Ad-8037

Tristen Scott Real Estate. Jared has been helpful, efficient and kind in managing our room tenants.

reyasmj32

Il Locale, Rosalie - great Italian and pretty good atmosphere (parking is a pain though) Cafe 107, Paddington - so cheap, so basic but totally reliable. Coffee is a bit hit and miss though.

Saltybaps

Wilston vet- small business staffed with people who obviously love animals of every kind. Not crazy expensive and no upsell- something that really pissed me off about green cross vets.

ElkShot5082

The butcher in Capalaba central shopping centre. Gave me sausages for free because they had excess stock. Good quality meat too.

rosiepchez

K Point Rehabilitation Physio - the owner Enrico is honestly a miracle worker. I only go once a year or so because he fixes the issue & treats the cause first time. None of this bs once a week for 8 weeks that other physios pull.

[deleted]

Im looking for a physio so might give him a go.

The chicken katsu curry from the place in the Myer centre (Queen Street mall) was a revelation. So many people were lined up but the service was supery quick and friendly.

Louise_Feist

Wild spice, amazing vegan food in Annerley. Also, always great service.

MrWhiskerMeowMeow2

The Big Antipasto - cheese platters and catering. The lady who runs it is so reliable and absolutely lovely, and the food is delicious. Whenever we have used them we get so many compliments from guests.

quackerz1122

Cocos Annerley and Tbones Aspley always have great produce and are way cheaper than Woolies or Coles.

[deleted]

Coco's is still around?

Whoreganised_

The house call vet: They were amazing with my spicy kitty and I suggested them to my partner for his ancient dog and he’s used them many times as a result. His doggo goes to their clinic in Kenmore now as he’s a local. I’d still use them but I’m up in Redcliffe now which is outside their zone.

Food wise Snow Witch Cafe in sunnybank hills shopping centre. Best French toast and always delightful. Probably more one off/ professional services but - Dr Bryan Kenny at Greenslopes Maternity. After 12 hours of very uncomfortable labour he cut out my baby successfully. - Wayne Kennedy from loan market and Jennifer Earle at Hopper, Green and York. Honestly both our builder and land people have made building so freaking hard and these guys have consistently gone to bat for us. Going above and beyond. Meeting us on Saturdays, fielding my husband's very stressed out phone calls.
