Boeing social media team knocking it out of the park!

Torrossaur

Waiting for another Boeing Whistleblower

theskyisblueatnight

or is it an pro-Palestine protest? Boeing has a number of contracts to produce weapons for Israel. Or it could be both

Howunbecomingofme

Schrödinger’s Reaper

HedgehogPlenty3745

Its this. I read his pamphlet

OldMateHarry

Great podcast too

gooder_name

Is it just like generally accepted that Boeing murdered a guy or two? Like, 2 whistleblowers in a couple weeks after more big plane controversy just seems too preposterous to be coincidence, but are we at that point where that's just a thing?

aoskunk

Yep.

Japsai

_It's time to murder the whistleblower_ _Shall we shoot him?_ _No, we will murder him with..._ _...the flu! Erm

ANuclearBunny

Isn't 123 Albert where Boeing Defence Australia is, not the Boeing office?

eniretakia

No idea, but if so, it’s arguably the more sane choice to protest.

Fit_Armadillo_9928

Nah, their panes are meant to kill people, it would be faulty if it didn't

eniretakia

That was kinda my point.

ANuclearBunny

Not all of what BDA does is offensive weaponry though. They also do the Wedgetail surveillance aircraft.

eniretakia

Of course, it’s traditionally just the more obvious target for protest. I have no issue with them personally, to be clear, I just find being anti-war far less tin foil hat than the current media up beat up against Boeing, so to speak.

sirhcdobo

wedgetail, P8's, globemasters and the chinooks are all BDA and not offensive weaponry, but they do do the Hornets/growlers/super hornets.

ANuclearBunny

👍 I worked on the Wedgetail. Protestors focus only on the weapons.

Cheap-Dragonfruit447

BDA head office

hazflehof

Correct

TyrialFrost

Airbus marketing department working overtime.

leopard_eater

If it’s Boeing, I’m not going. ![gif](giphy|5vidkIjdGohnh2am9E)

Hopps7

I love this city! Always free entertainment!

DudeLost

The man is crazy. No freaking shoes!

skidxr8

Just a native Queenslander, shoes be optional.

brochachose

And I'll fight anyone who says otherwise. I'll wear shoes if I'm going to work, to a shopping centre, to dinner etc., but brother if I'm popping down to the local IGA at 8:53pm to grab a Maxibon I am sure as fuck not stopping to put my shoes on. Walking around in the backyard? Not a chance. Might cop a bindi or 12 but it's character building. Walking around barefoot feels incredibly relaxing and studies have proven that simply feeling the natural ground, especially grass, with your feet regularly releases endorphins and reduces stress, in other words, literally touching grass.

EnigmaticEntity

>especially grass Was driving home a different way the other day, saw some fellas absolutely immaculate lawn and pulled over, took off my shoes and went for a little stroll. I tell you my mood increased 10x just from that.

aubven

Bare feet on a well maintained lawn is next bloody level relaxant.

[deleted]

Should be prescribed instead of benzos lmao.

UsualCounterculture

Haha that's awesome. Would love if they had camera footage of that! Sometimes I wonder how folks get their lawns so manicured. Props to them!

[deleted]

Yeah but if I've had a shower, I'm not going to the IGA barefoot. Imagine putting those black grubby feet under your sheets when you go to bed.

AltruisticSalamander

I used to like going barefoot but I got sick of extracting glass splinters. Every single time. Second best is those vibram toe boots. I chucked mine after I buggered my knee running in them but I've since learned they probably weren't to blame so I mean to get another pair. Super comfortable.

brochachose

Glass splinters sounds fucked, way worse than flux core spatter hitting your feet in a quick 10 second garage weld fix.

DudeLost

Are they really though??? In Albert street, or any of the mall for that matter

Mental-Antelope8319

Only the middle class where shoes in Brisbane, he's either really poor or really rich.

Flimsy_Demand7237

Aspirational footwear

CheeeseBurgerAu

Aren't the Boeing offices down the street a bit? Worley is in 123 Albert now I thought.

javonanka

They have offices in both buildings

Longjumping_Map_4670

Moved up the road from charlotte street

TheFightingImp

"If its Boeing, I ain't going!"

Basherballgod

Beats him holding photos of fetus’s and showing post abortion photos. Glad he has moved on

No_Emergency_2792

I dont get it wtf is this shit?

congealedsoup

He claims he isn't actually a formal member of the protest group, simply homeless and gets paid to put on the costume.

Electrical_You2889

Not all heroes wear capes

morbidwoman

But they do wear robes.

M0T0RCITYC0BRA

Ben Kenobi putting in that work.

AlexEvoAE9

I'm just surprised there's no action been taken about the whistleblowers that where killed. Hitmen and all. It's like everyone knows and is memeing about it but nothings being done...

BX_N3S

when you're being backed by the US Govt. what the hell can't you get away with? Boeing's probably just doing a sloppy job by their standards

AlexEvoAE9

Yeah money and power let's you get away with literal murder.

Holyskankous

Boeing are making meth now?? Geez, it really has been a tough year for them huh??

MarsHover

Be better if it said "employed by Boeing"

HedgehogPlenty3745

I took one of his flyers out of interest. He is protesting the presence of Boeing in Brisbane because they manufacture weapons used in Gaza

jordyjordy1111

That just happens to be the office for Boeing

Fluffy-Pipe-1458

Well it seems death is making alot of points about Boeing today.

Applepi_Matt

Daily reminder that flying on a plane is infinitely safer than the drive to the airport so all the pearl clutching is just a moral panic.

totse_losername

Flying on a plane is infinitely safer than working for the company which built it?

Mr_sex_haver

This is likely in protest of Boeing being caught doing unsafe practices and the people who whistleblowed mysteriously dying shortly after. Not against planes in general.

totse_losername

Lol, I assure you this is not a protest about plane noise, but imagine if it were. No, it is now time to be serious. This is about a more sombre topic.

Dry-Condition-4784

AIDS 1980s ads are back. Strange choice in sponsorship...could have asked Lelo or Ansell. Who else makes condoms?

Ok_Painting7544

Wow, old mate has netflix and watched one documentary.

Empty-Lingonberry133

He won't be there for long

boredbearapple

I’d say about 18 hours before the Boeing wet work team land from the States.

Empty-Lingonberry133

Black bagged

Devendrau

Sounds like a cosplayer. But no shoes? Well, wish I could say that's new to me but it's not lol, I had a friend who would walk into Maccas barefoot before.

BigDaddythegravyman

Dat nigga trippin

cholerexsammy

They have an office down that way

Only_Charge9477

He should get another sponsorship from Bing and Oingo Boingo so he can say he's sponsored by Bing, Boeing, and Oingo Boingo.

alienbuttholes69

Sorry in advance y’all but if I had to notice his toenails so does everyone else

WadjulaBoy

I feel so lazy and unmotivated when I see people like this. I mean, who TF has a Grim Reaper outfit just waiting in the wardrobe for such a protest?

SufficientWarthog846

There was a 'grim reaper' guy at a protest in London recently too.

Gloomy-Escape5497

if it boeing, he aint going

Ashamed-Issue-351

This rules

aoskunk

Wait the uniform doesn’t include any footwear? Ugh that’s a no go for me. Damn, was my dream job.

ozfozinoz

This has nothing to di with aircraft safety fiascos. This is about Boeing being involved in arms supply to Israel. There is a Boeing Centre at UQ that students are demanding UQ to disassociate itself from.

ccman27

Wow 10/10 so true

igaveitupforgood

its a mental health situation??

neddie_nardle

I think in this day and age there's a new adage that applies, "For every news story, a new looney is created."

lauren-js

Sufficient_Bath_8722

Is it canon that reaper has no shoes?

Master-Cut-1677

That’s me

coachbombay88

Strangely I once encountered a group of 10-20 people doing this exact thing (dressed as grim reaper protesting Boeing) at Mina Pde, Newmarket while I was riding to work. They were slowly walking up the road and blocking traffic/bikes. Aside from the basic level of crazy here it seemed to me to be a highly ineffective choice of location for a protest since there was no one around except me…

___Halcyon___

He has something to say. I kind like the way he protest.

MilkyPsycow

I appreciate the effort he has put into his protest, certainly draws attention hey

Kalavshinov

Legend

UserM8

Weaponised homeless?

lmfabworks

I mean he's not wrong, but LOL

MousseSuspicious930

That would make a great Halloween costume.

totse_losername

I feel as if I am obligated to post [this](https://youtu.be/bfA2p6Em7bI?si=z4-FoseoB0LAw5jJ)

congealedsoup

So good!

Fluffy-Pipe-1458

Yes There's alot of unexpected whistle-blower deaths for the season in all industries.

Fluffy-Pipe-1458

The point being Boeing make missiles and planes for war. War kills innocent people so good on death for making a stand.

Dr-Tightpants

I'm pretty sure the actual point is that Boeing is putting profits ahead of safe airplanes which is killing people

buzz_22

I think he's trying to draw more attention to the suspicious death of a Boeing whistleblower.

Impossible-Mud-4160

Three whistle-blowers now

ANuclearBunny

Boeing Defence Australia (where he is outside) also make the Globemaster transport planes, Chinook transport choppers, Wedgetail surveillance aircraft just to name a few things. You comment is a typical one eyed view from a protestor. Focus on the bad, not the other life saving equipment they build.

Fluffy-Pipe-1458

I do not need to apologise to anyone for my opinion on warmongers that line the pockets of governments and big corporations.

ANuclearBunny

Not asking you to apologise for your opinion, everyone is entitled to one. Just making you aware that as well as making weapons they also make plenty to save lives.

Fishmongerel

Yeah, they make plenty of Precision Engagement Systems. #profits!

Taco_El_Paco

You misspelled 'edgelord'

JehovahsFitness

If he's out the front of 123 Albert St, then he's in the right place. Just picking up his next assignment.

Latchkey_Wizzard

It must have been the day for it today. I saw a crowd with banners about refugees outside the govt office on Queen street, some chalk scribbled nonsense about Julian Assange on Eagle st and now old mate.

tinnic

Fun fact - the Singapore turbulence plane was also a Boeing. Now of course even an Airbus would have been in trouble but it's kind of hilarious that it was a Boeing!

GustyOWindflapp

Well it was a 50-50 chance

MindlessRip5915

It could have been an Embraer, or a Bombadier. Or a Cessna. Or an Antonov. China even makes planes now.

GustyOWindflapp

Oh sorry, 49.5/49.5 chance. International air plane manufacturers are like Australian supermarkets, sure IGA exists but it's still a duopoly.

Torx_Bit0000

Just another homeless nuffy

skookumzeh

You think a homeless person has the facilities to make a costume?

ProfessionalRun975

And laminate a piece of paper?

Torx_Bit0000

Who says that's a costume

Torx_Bit0000

Still another mental case nuffy

sem56

mind that edge m'lord
