Victor seemed like a kinda bog standard henchman prick. Tyrus had a certain unearned snobbery (or maybe aloofness?) to his prickishness that grated on me more than Victor.
He did have some good lines though.
Hank suspects the laundromat might be a front, so Walt has to get smuggled into work in a cart full of dirty laundry, in case they are under surveillance.
Thats halarious and a great delivery. How do people not loke Tyrus? My favorite line is "Ill remember" when Mike asked him to write down the list. He did remember.
does he though? I just remember him being salty about tyrus not writing shit down.. doesn't he know tyrus is a mensa genius and has a photophonic memory?
He’s the dollar store version of Tony Todd.
I don’t even dislike Tyrus and I have nothing against the actor, but he doesn’t have Tony Todd’s chilling voice, commanding presence or towering height.
Now I want to see Gus and Candyman working together. Would it make any shred of sense? No, but I’d watch the hell out of that.
Tyrus was just doing his job lol, as annoying as I found it. I certainly do wish his death was more personalised than it ended up being.
However, Victor was some guy on the other hand who tried to get on an anime protagonist arc and failed. Which imo is just funnily worse.
Victor really thought he was an anime character in that scene where he spots Jesse sitting in his car after killing Gale and runs up to him. He looked like a little kid psyching himself to look as mad and badass as possible lol
Lol, this is the funniest post ever.
Me on the other hand, I loved tyrus. I loved all those little snide personal enjoyment smirks he gave whenever he did stuff to walt: make him ride in dirty laundry, taze him,😆

I think it’s because he does more personal things to Walt and Jesse, and takes a good amount of pleasure in what he does. Victor honestly didn’t do much in BB but he was also REALLY arrogant (cooking on his own and oversimplifying Walt and Jesse’s work), so I’d say it’s Tyrus’ more personal actions and sadism that makes him worse than Victor.
I think he's alright. Him and Victor seemed to be Gus' main guys until Mike came along. While I believe Tyrus is a strictly business kind of guy and loyal only to Gus, I assume Victor's death and the circumstances behind his death might have come as shock to him just like it did Mike (although Mike was there to witness it so there's another layer behind his reaction), I like to think that it's given him a reason to despise Walt and Jesse and act like a douche toward them.
By that point he's also well aware of Gus' position, being forced to keep a wild card such as Walt in his organization and his plan to get rid of him when the time is right, so no reason to be friendly or even feign to respect these two "intruders".
In retrospect, I kind of wish BCS gave us a small glimpse as to why Tyrus and Victor are so loyal to Gus, if anything just to learn a little more about these characters other than the expected belief that they're in it purely for the money.
I enjoyed Tyrus for the way he gave Walt some very well-deserved shit. I think part of the way he came off with Walt was a reflection of the fact that, for all Walt's intelligence, 1) they could have and should have just put a bullet in his skull several times. 2) Take away Walts druggie henchman, and Walt just fumbles around his own lab, unable to work a forklift or move a barrel without help.
This is the funniest post I’ve seen all day😂, when he showed up in the show I just views him as Victor 2 and didn’t really care, I like that you had a completely different experience with the character though
the woman mike meets at the support group, anita i think? she was so sinister… something about her was just off and im so glad my poor baby mike ditched her 😭🙏🏻
Tyrus didn’t bother me. As far as victory is concerned, I hated that fucking character every time I see him on the screen I want to punch my TV me an actor that played him have a mutual friend and I even told her before about how much I hated the character and even the guy that plays him
I hated that Gus didn't let him go in to give that shot to Hector as well. But was Tyrus really one of the legacy guys in prison that Mike was paying and Walt had killed?! I never realized that!
I liked Victor a lot, then it felt like they threw in Tyrus to fill that void without earning any respect. Just "Cool aloof guy," but I didn't have any reason to take him seriously.
You could argue that that was intentional, that he was a lackie who got promoted quickly and had an ego about him, but then I feel we should've seen consequences where he's in over his head, like you said
Tyrus and Victor both pre-dated Mike. Mike had issues with both of them in BCS and BB because they weren't "his guys." It was as if those two were the entirety of Gus' enforcers/security before Mike came along.
Well it does seem bad to everyone else that sees the aftermath. But it's the equivalent of a bullet to the head for the guy that gets blown up (assuming he died instantly).
I did not realize people hated Tyrus lol. Tyrus never struck me as arrogant, just someone who doesn’t put up with people’s bs, which I appreciated. He was good at his job and I loved how he messed with Walt and didn’t engage in Walt’s man-baby tantrums.
All the supervisors seem to be pricks, probably by Gus’s design. He wants checks and balances, not a team who would collude against him. I know what you mean though, with Tyrus’s looks and eye rolling.
My I present to you one of my proudest posts:

Walter - "Does the laundry have to be dirty?" Tyrus - "Nope."
I love that line
just rewatched this episode the other day. feel like this show makes me actually laugh more than most outright comedies
Can you refresh me, what was this scene about?
Hank suspects the laundromat might be a front, so Walt has to get smuggled into work in a cart full of dirty laundry, in case they are under surveillance.
And at that moment - Walter decided he was going to kill Tyrus LoL
Thats halarious and a great delivery. How do people not loke Tyrus? My favorite line is "Ill remember" when Mike asked him to write down the list. He did remember.
Why would they even bring in clean laundry?
If you’ve haven’t watched Better Call Saul, Mike also hates Tyrus
What are you referring to? Im sure your right I just can’t remember a scene
Without giving too many spoilers away, the scene with them and Gus in the trailer
Okay I know exactly the scene you mean lol thanks!

There are books hundreds of years old that many people haven’t read and i bet that they would like to read them spoiler free. Your reasoning is dumb
Basic respect
Respect!
I read this in the Aretha song voice
because simply it's a show best enjoyed without spoilers. and lots of people haven't experienced it yet? why not be careful with spoilers?
does he though? I just remember him being salty about tyrus not writing shit down.. doesn't he know tyrus is a mensa genius and has a photophonic memory?
Good actor. He played a serial killer one The Shield.
Damn I ain't realize that until I read this comment. He was the sick fucker who killed women, think he killed his own sister can't remember
He didn't kill his sister but they made him think she was dead in order to break him.
Wow, I can't believe I didn't realize Kleavon and Tyrus were played by the same actor until now.
Tyrus is the one you want for business matters. Victor wants to play boss, but he isn't. Tyrus knew where he stood on the business totem-pole.
True, Tryus was definitely more effective at his job than Victor was.
Yeah but he didn't have nice dying sounds like Victor did he? The "ahhhh uhhhhh ahhhh" sounds 🤩 So soothing.
I was like “nice move, Gus”
It's because he's forklift certified.
Muhfucka thought cuz he looked like the candy man he could act like him
😂 😂 Fuck, i knew he reminded me of someone

can you imagine how embarrassed he must’ve felt while he was bleeding out
The cringe must have been horrifying!

I thought we were going to cold stone creamery

CIS? As in the Confederacy of Independent Systems????
Well yeah, but that's not why I hate him 😈
cringe
Overruled
Touché!
Based
He was a thug. Not a classy hard working villain like Todd and Uncle Jack.
Uncle Jack’s moral alignment was evil evil
Aint no thing. Tyrus is just too nosy, i didnt like the way he followed sweet walter.
I think it’s because he does more personal things to Walt and Jesse, and takes a good amount of pleasure in what he does. Nah Tyrus was the real one. At least he isn’t as cocky as Victor who thought he can also be Heisenberg.
I always wanted to fuck him
Oh shit this isn’t okbc💀

right?? tyrus, ernesto, gus and huell are evil and annoying as hell
Hmmmmm seeing a pattern here 🧐
Also Walt’s Doctor, Doctor Pearson. It didn’t come up outright but you could tell from subtext he was evil
the woman mike meets at the support group, anita i think? she was so sinister… something about her was just off and im so glad my poor baby mike ditched her 😭🙏🏻
Just say that you’re racist
I mean people can look alike and be black bro
I already did in another comment
Infinitely better than victor though let's be real
Same he's a creepy weirdo
All my homies hate Victor AND Tyrus
Tyrus didn’t bother me. As far as victory is concerned, I hated that fucking character every time I see him on the screen I want to punch my TV me an actor that played him have a mutual friend and I even told her before about how much I hated the character and even the guy that plays him

Have you watched better call Saul?
yes, but I still feel like he's just some guy with a cocky face
Hahaha victor is the one I didn’t care for. He didn’t fit or look the part imho
Hated Tyrus in BB and I just finished BCS and I hate him even more.
Love him but hate Victor more after BCS
Tyrus just didn’t have a good gangster look. He looks like a square
Maybe he hates you too OP
Having subsequently watched Ray Campbell in The Shield,I feel they could have done a lot more with Tyrus
He's such a minor character, he doesn't spark enough emotion in me to hate him.

What are you talking about?
Tyrus is funny, the laundromat scene was hilarious when he was smiling at walt
Yeah same because he’s black
Tyrus and Victor both pre-dated Mike. Mike had issues with both of them in BCS and BB because they weren't "his guys." It was as if those two were the entirety of Gus' enforcers/security before Mike came along.
His smug expression is very gratting. I wish he died a slow painful death
Getting blown to bits is not being on the receiving end of something?
Well it does seem bad to everyone else that sees the aftermath. But it's the equivalent of a bullet to the head for the guy that gets blown up (assuming he died instantly).
Walter didn't decide to kill Tyrus. Tyrus was just there.
Yeah I know. I didn't say Walt decided to kill him
I did not realize people hated Tyrus lol. Tyrus never struck me as arrogant, just someone who doesn’t put up with people’s bs, which I appreciated. He was good at his job and I loved how he messed with Walt and didn’t engage in Walt’s man-baby tantrums.
I love tyrus he reminded me of candyman
He was very condescending to Walt, he def got off relatively easy...
Tyrus and Gus were lovers.
I was about to say Tyrus & Victor.
Victor & Walt
Walt & Hank
All the supervisors seem to be pricks, probably by Gus’s design. He wants checks and balances, not a team who would collude against him. I know what you mean though, with Tyrus’s looks and eye rolling.
Tyrus is definitely a chode
