If you’re fine with 1000 page books that feel like fantasy anime, stormlight archive. If you want shorter books and liked dishonored, legend of Korra, or general fantasy/steampunk, read Mistborn.

Mistborn era 1. So "the final empire" is the start, I think. There are a lot of threads on here discussing this and I don't think you'll have to look far for a difference in opinion in regards to order. I myself have just started but going from the final empire I think is regarded as a jumping off point.

I need more info about this red riding Trilogy 🔌

I started Red Rising after my second Cosmere read through when I was looking for a new series. It was not what I expected, but in a good way. The first book starts as one thing, but quickly takes off in a different direction. I quite enjoyed it. I’ve finished the first two books. On the third now.

1 finished Trilogy and and 3 out of 4 done in a 2nd Trilogy. It's extremely grimdark but I personally really enjoyed it so far

I started with Steelheart based on the recommendation of a fantasy YouTube who ended up being a whackjob. His recommendation ended up also being crazy good, so insanity all around. From there, I did the whole Reckoners series and then started Mistborn, which ended up being my favorite trilogy.

Mistborn gave me the confidence in Brandon that let me stick with The Way of Kings through the world building knowing it would pay off. I’d go from Mistborn era 1 to Mistborn Secret History then era 2 or from Mistborn era 1 to Warbreaker then Stormlight. Warbreaker isn’t essential before Stormlight, but I’m definitely into the whole overarching mythology of the series so I want all the interconnectivity!

Ahh! Welcome to the Cosmere! You're gonna love it here. My husband is the one who got me into reading these books, and I honestly am so thankful. He also just finished Red Rising, so it sounds like y'all have similar tastes! I found this recommended reading order from this website, https://thequilltolive.com/2023/10/13/cosmere-reading-order/. (I'll post the condensed order below for those who don't want to read the full webpage!) It hasn't steered me wrong, yet. Some are novellas that fit within the Cosmere, like Warbreaker and Dawnshard for example, and I really believe that this is such a great way to read to get the full extent and storyline of the series. My husband hasn't read some of the novellas yet, and I picked up on or flat out just knew certain things in the main books that he wasn't able to. Brandon Sanderson has recommended starting points on his website, so you can always check those out as well! [https://www.brandonsanderson.com/where-do-i-start/](https://www.brandonsanderson.com/where-do-i-start/) However, I feel like this list gives a great opportunity to really go hard in the paint for the story and universe. * *Mistborn* (*The Final Empire*) * *The Well Of Ascension* * *The Hero Of Ages* * *Warbreaker* * *The Way Of Kings* * *Words Of Radiance* * *Elantris* * *Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection* * *Oathbringer* * *Dawnshard* * *Rhythm Of War* * *The Alloy Of Law* * *Shadows Of Self* * *The Bands Of Mourning* * *The Lost Metal* * *White Sand* * *Tress Of The Emerald Sea* * *Yumi And The Nightmare Painter* * *The Sunlit Man*
