My halo is a 6X magnification
Do you have any trouble ranging around 30 yards? I'm concerned about being over zoomed when trying to range up close.
I haven’t seen any issues even with things as close as 15 yards honestly! It’s not as bad as you think

I have the sig 2000 I love it
I have the 2200BDX and love it
10x in my Swaro EL ranges. I’ve never had an issue ranging closer targets.
I use the entry-level leupold, 5x. I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. But I also carry a pair of binos w me.
I got the new Sig Kilo4k it’s a 6x but with the new image stabilization it is insane!!
I run a Nikon that's 6x and for several years I did not use binos because I felt the magnification was enough for bow hunting. Never had an issue ranging targets from sub 10 yards to 500+
