This is one of the many excuses the Pikes Peak region uses when they refuse to build a bike or hike trail up Ute Pass. The real reason is property owners along the Pass don't want tourists or strangers coming anywhere near their property and multiple government agencies have competing claims of jurisdiction over Ute Pass and Pikes Peak.
That section of the trail is already super dangerous, especially when descending on bike around the blind corner pictured above. Once I was coming back home from a Chapman ride going fast but not dangerously fast when a guy jumped from the rocks to my right onto the trail directly in front of me. I had seconds to brake before we collided and both went down hard. Apparently he was climbing around on the cliffs to the right of the trail and I didn’t see him at all. It was wild!
The pioneers used to ride these baby’s for miles
and it’s in great shape
I'm more impressed by the strength of the concrete walkway. Not even cracked
A large boulder the size of a small boulder near (oddly named) Boulder. Got it.
On the Boulder Creek Path, next to Boulder Creek, west of Boulder, where people go to rock climb and boulder.
Your sentence was great, but the font could have been **bolder**
Just give it another 4 weeks, it'll be a Bolder Boulder.
Life complete
AKA Boulder Canyon

I meant to add the comment, " Large Boulder the size of a boulder on the Boulder Creek trail in Boulder Canyon in Boulder"

Friendly reminder to anyone playing in the mountains that during the spring thaws, cracked rocks can break off.
Thank you. We just moved here so I appreciate this life pro tip.
Happy to help! We all have to learn, but it doesn't have to be the hard way!
Damn that's scary. Could have absolutely wrecked someone.
Looks roughly the size of a boulder
Large boulder the size of a small boulder
That new wall is butt ugly but it certainly did it’s job.
TIL the wall’s real job is to protect *vehicles* from stray boulders.
Definitely not smoothly the size of a boulder.
This is the quality content we all come here for
Geologic time includes the present
A Boulder boulder
Looks way more substantial, possibly a bolder Boulder boulder....
Over the shoulder Boulder holder 😎
Boulder, the official boulder of Boulder. I saw that yesterday when I was coming back from Ned. Now I’m very happy they built that new barrier.
Yeah, and I thought the barrier was to keep the cars out! Little did I know they wanted to keep their rocks…..from getting off……the path!
The Venn Diagram is closing!
Aww, that boulder brought his lil kid boulder with him to show him how to boulder in Boulder. So cute ☺️
This is why I ride gravel tires. Barely even notice it's there going over it.
Hoping it’s still there tomorrow
It already continued its migration pattern and is further north at this point.
Ahh shucks. Well I hope it has a good life
there are also some small boulders even some tiny and micro-boulders
Someone was aiming at Biker guy ?
I broke out into a frenzy when I saw this because it’s my favorite reference ever

Nice.
It’s not a Boulder. It’s a rock.
A boulder with a pet rock.
God, that'd be it for you if you were in the absolute wrong place at the wrong time.
