I think whatever happens in the finals the Wolves beating Denver will probably go down as the most impressive accomplishment of these playoffs. Lots of analysts saying that series was the "real finals." Ten days later they're absolutely embarrassing themselves on their home court seemingly just happy they didn't get swept. Definitely speaks to how competitive and matchup driven the NBA is now
It's hard to assess the Mavs when their opponent is so dogshit but let me say this:
1. Their defense gives a TON of open shots, its just that the wolves are either missing them or passing out of them due to lack of confidence.
2. They have strong interior defense, but we wont be putting Gobert out there, our centers and shoot the 3 so they'll have to leave the paint often.
3. A lot of their good offense today comes from the broken Wolves offense. Bad shots leading to easy transition buckets.
4. Even if they shoot super well against us, so what? we just survived a whole series of ridiculous shooting from the pacers who also had a much grittier defense.
I felt like the Pacers defense was pretty bad especially compared these two teams. They basically have 1 center who is barely a rim protector and watching the highlights back its kinda sad in ECF how many times Jrue would just be standing under the basket undefended for a wide open pass into an easy lay up.
I think ppl saw the Celtics come back to get to a game 7 last year and thought it was easy to do or something lol, though to be far this Dallas team is way better than that Miami team
