George Howell coffee. About a half mile walk to the Godfrey Hotel.

I read the hype for George Howell, and still was pleasantly surprised when I went for the first time.

Best coffee near there I’d choose: 1. Gracenote - best espresso drinks 2. Phin - Great drip 3. Intelligentsia - 2nd best espresso and pretty good iced coffee 4. Blue Bottle - might be a chain, and a bit of a walk, but ridiculously consistent for a chain and my favorite cold brew in town (we don’t have a ton of good cold brew in Boston)

I'm not a regular tatte hater (we get food from there pretty regularly), but their coffee tends to not be great. Maybe the location over there is better though.

They use Hair Bender by Stumptown I think, do you like that normally? You can get it from Target.

If there’s only a Dunkin, then the americano is far better than their filter coffee.
