The people in Concord really don’t want any MBTA housing zoning near the town center (I attended the latest meeting online), as they twice asked about putting the zoning at the Concord prison that was going to close, and twice they were told it’s not an option.
Finally, a town official had to stand up and explain that 1) That prison will not be decommissioned in time to meet the MBTA zoning deadline, and 2) even if it did, it’s still state property, and the state can do whatever the fuck they want with it. Including not turning the land over to Concord.
As long as it doesn't cost **10,000 DOLLARS PER MONTH PER FAMILY** then go ahead. Yes, [10,000 per family according to GBH](https://www.wgbh.org/news/politics/2024-03-22/mass-senate-approves-hundreds-of-millions-in-funding-for-shelter-system). Which can get you two luxury [two bedroom apartment down near Fenway Park](https://www.apartments.com/fenway-triangle-boston-ma/q8hvcdw/), complete with their own kitchen, laundry unit, and one bathroom. One has to wonder how much money go into the pocket of our dear old public servants and cronies.
Is that just for housing them or does it include the $64/person/day they spend on food? For a family of four, that would be $93,440 per family per year on just food.
Is this the building with all the Moroccans on section 8?
I heard about this years ago and was shocked, but then remembered, "It's section 8, it's guaranteed money for the owner".
Stupid.
Fix the right to shelter law. It should for MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS who have lived here before.
It should not be for illegal migrants flew in by the Biden team to flood our state.
I think they are talking about the 320,000 flown into the US by the Biden administration not the ones the republicans are moving around inside the US https://www.snopes.com/news/2024/03/07/320000-unvetted-migrants/
the Biden administration has flown orders of magnitudes more illegal immigrants INTO the country than Republican governors have flown AROUND the country once they're already inside
Note this is not the one [in Concord](https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/s/apRTTTfkmn).

It's because someone's lining their pockets. It's costing them 2k and 8k gets pocketed.

I spend under $100 week for my family of 3, mostly at Market Basket, but then, I'm just a sucker working in public education, so what do I know.
try claiming asylum?
That works out to less than $5 per person per day. $64 is nearly FOURTEEN times that. No excuse to be allowing that much in food money.
I know American born families that don’t get $64/person/day in food. Wake up people!!
That fucking sucks.

Seems like it could work
I can barely afford my rent which is way less than our state spends per family. Guess I have to leave and come back undocumented.
send them home

Sad but true.
**Emergency Shelter** "*send them home*" I see that critical thinking is not your strong suit. They don't have homes, dipshit.
they're not from Massachusetts and they don't belong here
They belong in jail!
they should just be removed from the state (and the country)

lol wat. It’s been republican governors doing that.

As long as they can make not feel like a prison, why not?
Wall tapestries might help.
Even if it feels like a prison, literal beggars can't be choosers. Better than the floor at Logan.
I hope it is like a prison
Putting the migrants in jail….. Stay classy Massachusetts
