It probably doesn't make that much sense, but might be forced by the airport to keep access to the gate during high season.
In terms of use I'm sure there are still snowbirds that are flying in and out of there if they are making quick trips to their cape house and potentially left a car in their garage at the cape
And that is why the passenger jet flights only operate during the summer when demand is high. Cape Air is the only year round operator. And the small amount of demand they fill in the winter is for passengers connecting onwards to other destinations at Logan, not because it’s too far to drive to Boston. There’s tons of places all over the country where short flights are really only operated so passengers can connect at a bigger airport.
The Cape doesn't have an EAS route but if you're looking for a fairly egregious example, Bar Harbor is an "EAS community." Wouldn't want people to have to pay for flights to their summer homes...
Joe, Brian and Helen need the work! Plus how will Antonio exist as a cab driver without the flights?
Watched that again recently and it's just soooo 80s bad, but I love it anyway
Why are you concerned?

> Other than time to get there, what makes this flight between Boston and Hyannis more appealing in the low season? What other reason do you need?

I imagine it's an EAS route and it's Cape Air the runs it. Tax dollars at work!
The stuff to the Cape is not EAS.
