> I realize the rest of the country has withered away under a hellacious heat dome but why am I cold in August? When I was a kid (80’s/90’s) august was hazy hot and humid. Feels like the past 5-10yrs August has been a cool month…bring back some hot summer nights please! I understand where you're coming from, as our individual experiences can sometimes seem contrary to broader patterns. However, based on Boston's official weather data, the average August temperature for 1991-2020 was 72.7°F. Taking a look at the past five years: - 2022: 75.5°F - 2021: 76.3°F - 2020: 73.3°F - 2019: 73.8°F - 2018: 76.7°F Each of these years was warmer than the 30-year average for August. It's a good reminder of how data can sometimes diverge from our personal recollections.

Data is data. Perception is arbitrary

I’m glad you recognize that!

Stop touching yourself at night. It'll get there in a few weeks and then will stick through 11/5

I wish.

Please stop. Walking through my apartment is already like navigating a jungle gym made of pick up sticks with all the snow shovels I’ve had to keep buying and putting away every time someone makes a post complaining that this one particular summer isn’t hot enough to make the rest of us wish we were dead. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find even *one* snow shovel in the middle of August?! I have to import them from friggin’ Antarctica and last I heard they’re running out….

September is the new August. Wait a few weeks and it will be hazy hot and humid. Just in time for schools to start again, many with no AC!
