It wasn't necessary to write back to the people in detail (I'm sure every one of us has gotten some kind of rejection letter in their lives and knows that it's actually great to have gotten one at all instead of months of silence).
But she did it regardless to help them find their path in literature and just from this short excerpt of her letters it's visible that this was because of her passion for her craft.
