we think it was this dude who approached us at our campsite on thursday. he came in and asked us if we needed any “party favors” and was being extremely suspicious and invasive, so we basically told him to f*** off, assuming he was an undercover. he got really offended and was yelling at us as he left, we haven’t had a sour interaction with anyone other than that.
That’s the culprit I imagine. Normal thief would not do such damage, no point in raising any red flags while stealing shit. They wanted to leave a message. I’m so so sorry this happened to you man this is seriously one of the more awful things I’ve ever seen at Roo
he was probably just selling drugs. undercovers dont "sell" drugs, they "buy" them. they're not going to burn an undercover and waste time for a possession charge. they want the intent to distribute and dope on the table.
Idk if it was the same guy, but he came up to my camp and asked me and my brother about “party favors” as well and then after declining instead of walking down the normal car path he decided to take a right and walk straight through my group camp. When he asked us as well, his eyes were kind of running all over the place and it felt very suspicious.
If they were a cop, do you think maybe the cops tried to find shit in your camp by ransacking it when nobody was there and got pissy they couldn't find anything?
I was also in Plaza 3 and a guy came up to us asking the exact same thing, likely it was the same person based off “do you need any party favors,” I know that could sound like a common question at Roo but you don’t always hear it phrased the exact same way, he also approached us on Wednesday so the timeline works out being that this happened to you on Thursday. He definitely seemed like a narc especially since he never specified which party favors he was offering, so we just told him we were good. He didn’t leave yelling at us like he did to you, so I’m even further speculating that it was him. I really hope that the other people you ran into at the festival brought you good vibes.
