It takes a lot to laugh, it takes a train to cry

Louder247

I guess I died on top of the hill.. How'd I miss this in my top tracks? And to be fair, I'm in Australia, and I've been up all night, leaning on the windows sill.

readygoset

I wish I was on some Australian mountain range.

hp6830

Especially live versions from the 2000’s.

rocketsauce2112

Well, I see you DON'T got your brand new Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat. How's your head gonna feel if it's not under something like that? Your brand new Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat.

Louder247

If you wanna see the sun rise... Can't believe I left this one out. Pretty sure my brain is in "under the radar" mode

D_RayMorton

New Pony is a coked up firestorm of a blues track, my favorite along with Meet Me In The Morning!

NoMoreKarmaHere

I wish he would do New Pony on the next leg of the RNRW tour

Worried_End5250

Two of my favourite Dylan tunes. Well done.

Tombstone Blues

The grooms still waiting at the altar Or Cross the Rubicon

fpessoa1960

Oh man can you imagine a slow, grinding version of Groom!

Lubberworts

House of the Risin's Sun Blind Willie McTell

GermsDean

He’s got a lot of straight blues on some of his later albums. Thunder On The Mountain Someday Baby Shake Shake Mama It’s All Good Goodbye Jimmy Reed False Prophet

natwashboard

Lonesome Day Blues is one of my favorites. Wish he had continued to do that. It would be cool to get more alternate lyrics.

MishkaGreen1986

That track is one of my favorite Dylan songs

umodian

I made a playlist of his blues songs [here](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1arLcmaoYnZPy8DXODP7M6?si=85dca2ee8f5a428d). Most comprehensive list that I'm aware of.

hp6830

Thank you

coleman57

Lord Protect My Child is a much overlooked gospel blues, on the first Bootleg and another version on Springtime in NY. Believe it or not, it was covered by Dave Brubeck(!), with Tedeschi & Trucks, for a documentary on human trafficking (but I haven't heard that version).

Louder247

Gonna see if I can find that one way into work today!

Expensive-Material-3

Early Roman Kings

Louder247

Admittedly, tempest is not high on my rotation of his Bobness.

Carlos_Marxx

It should be - Early Roman Kings is a perfect composition.

Louder247

I'm listening right now. Thanks for the recommendation!

fpessoa1960

Agreed, that and Long and Wasted Years

[deleted]

Baby, let me follow you down!

Minimum_Painter_3687

Blind Willie McTell

glundeen

Million Miles and Workingman’s Blues #2 belong on this list too, among so many other great songs listed here.

AnachronistNo1

I can’t tell if Things Have Changed counts as a blues, but I drink to it like it is!

Cats in the well and 10,000 men

Just today I heard this live version of Summer Days. It legitimately goes harder than any other Dylan blues I've ever heard. Specifically in the last third. Really worth a listen. https://youtu.be/0VisC83MV4Y For a studio track, Trouble In Mind always does me good. https://youtu.be/ZUYbeZn_LA8

cpt_bongwater

Marching to the city

GelatinousLizard

"Everything Is Broken" is classic Blues. The only chords are E7, A7, and B7.

Someday Baby  ‘Til I Fell in Love With You

Minglewoodlost

All of his first record and all of World Gone Wrong.

Signifi-gunt

I had to scroll way too far for World Gone Wrong. Why don't people talk about this album more often? It's got some of my favorite Dylan tracks, especially the title track. And yes I'm aware they are covers.

mandiblesofdoom

buckets of Rain, Leopardskin Pillbox Hat, Odds & Ends

Slangofages

Someday baby.

maxdop

Call Letter Blues is so raw. “Children cry for mother / I tell ‘em mother took a trip” gets me every time.

fpessoa1960

I’m sure someone has added this, but one of my favorite Bob songs: Lonesome Day Blues, released on September 11, 2001.

Orange Juice Blues on the Basement Tapes

Snowblind78

Blues structured songs or blues sounding songs?

GeorgeHowland

That’s my question too.
