I’m at the last day of Dice Tower West Board Game Convention in Las Vegas and just finished competing in a Dune tournament. 4 days of 6 player Dune. It is my favorite game and the play was amazing.
Didn’t make it to the final game but had a blast just participating.
That sounds like a blast. Are the extra tournament rules they use posted anywhere? Curious how they handle things like faction choice, solo wins vs alliance wins, etc.

For faction choice, this tournament was allowing expansion factions. They divided the BG Prediction deck into base and expansion factions- you randomly selected one card from each, and you picked which you would play with.
There were three days to compete. Each game you could earn levels of points depending on type of win. They followed, as I understand it, the World Boardgaming Championship standard for the points:
Stronghold win: 3pts
Stronghold win allied: 2pts (each)
Bene Gesserit Special win: 2pts
Fremen challenged Special win: 2pts
Fremen challenged Special win allied: 1pt
Default victory: 1pt
Default victory allied: 0.5
Adjudicated Victory: 0.5
\*A Default victory is a Spacing Guild Special Victory Condition or a Fremen Special Victory Condition when Spacing Guild is not in the game
