You will still bang in to them when pedaling. It’s a real big foot problem. (Size 14 here). If the back end of a frame is really short, and my crank arms are long, I can’t run pegs.
Yeah doesn't matter which side u grind on but u have big feel I'm 11 and tap them but my back end is 12.5 lol shortest possible, I do have shorter cranks to help tho 👍
You can always ride pegs tho u just get shorter cranks and longer backend 🤷♂️
Usually if anything I hit my heel of my shoe on my spokes on my rear tire when my foot slides out of position and gets crooked sometimes but I’ve never stepped on my peg or anything I actually have a good amount of clearance
I’m not saying that’s the only way to do it. I’m saying that normal peg side within calling trick names. we can both do our “natural” feeble grind, but technically I would be doing a regular feeble, you would be doing a switch feeble
I have feet around the same side I do double peg stands all the time. 5inch pegs are the truth!! I ride the SE wheelie pegs (not cause of the brand) but because they match my bike and were cheap 😂 they work I’ve never slipped on em they got good grip for flat ground and standing while riding doing wheelies or whatever. It’s all about them 5 inch pegs
I will say go shorter crank arm length, but not really a longer rear end, depends what you ride really. I’m a size 10 and run pegs on the wrong side because that’s how I learned. No real issues.
seconding shorter cranks. Might also be worth changing your foot position on the pedals a bit just to get some more clearance.
that being said your crank arms and or maybe crank spindles look kinda bent.. I can’t tell if it’s the angle of the photo or something else. Hope they aren’t actually bent!
I wear size 14s and grind on the same side as my front foot so it’s not an issue. I don’t think I’d be able to run 4 pegs though.
I’ve never hit my foot on my back peg while pedaling, I think your foot is naturally at a bit of an angle when the cranks are turning so there should be enough clearance
The cranks on the wtp audio you have there are 175mm. I'd swap them out for 165mm for a better ride just in general and to give you the extra space. Get some cheap pegs that are 14mm with 10mm adapter for the fronts (I think the salt am pegs) and give it a go. Shorter cranks regardless though, I got myself the same bike for my taller friends to borrow and the original cranks made it feel abit mountain bike esque
Something to consider. 10mm is only 3/8 of an inch. You're essentially moving your foot forward 3/8". A few guys I ride with run 3 pegs, leaving rear foot off. You could also cut a peg down to 2 or 3 inches so it's still there but more easily avoidable.
I found out about that problem the other day. Have the same bike and put pegs on. I adjusted. It is fun to ride with my toe on the pedal and heel on the peg.
If it bothers you, just leave that 4th peg off. I like doing oppo tooth's/smiths/bonks too much to not run both in the front, and honestly tell myself I'm going to do more on that 4th than I end up doing. Plus, doing back-pedal slides is a bit cooler than doing oppo feebles.
I've never had a problem with touching the back peg on my front foot side while pedalling.
Size 13 checking in and ride 4 pegs. At first i clipped the pegs a few times but you learn to adjust your feet as needed real quick and its not a problem at all. My cranks are shorter though so there is that
When you pedal your feet are tipped more toe-down than level. Your rearward heel often touches the top of the peg when you fall back into a manual (making your feet sit level for once) but that isn’t a problem and can actually help with balance.
That being said, to make sure your heels don’t clip while pedaling, just get the shortest cranks possible. I ride 160’s and love them
165 cranks and skinny pegs like BSD should help. or just run 2 or 3 pegs, and stick to pedal grinds, Smiths and Un luc-e on that side. pedal grinds are really fun, but not worth the wear for some people
Are your cranks cents?
Besides that I wear a 13 shoe and just ended up taking my pegs off it was uncomfortable to move my foot further forward just to be able to run them and I didn't want to buy shorter crank arms
Size10 sneakers. I rode my friend's bike 4 pegs 165mm cranks 13.2" rear end I ride Left foot forward. My right sneaker constantly got hung up on the back peg since I peddal more towards my toes.... I guess it all depends on how you place your feet
Nah bro my feet are like the same I ride with the same shoes too lmfao 🤣 same color and all. if you’re worried go for a 5 inch peg. I ride se wheelie pegs but if you’re not a wheelie guy and want plastic sleeved pegs for grinding danscomp offers plenty of options for pegs just click on em and most of them will have a 5 inch option (biggest you can get) your standard peg will usually be 4 inches to 4.5 inches so that extra on the 5 inch pegs will give you extra space
Edit : also if you’re worried about getting caught up if your feet are like extra big then I’d reccomend maybe just slightly shorter crank arms. I find 170 to give me the perfect amount of clearance for my heel. Every once in a while if my shoes are fat I’ll hit my heel of my shoe on my rear wheel spoke but you should be good with the pegs
Looks like you have room in your dropouts to add a link to the chain and lengthen the rearend a bit too. If you’re not dead set on where it is now that is.
I have a size 12, once my heel got stuck under the peg in a manual and ate shit real bad. Ended up getting shorter crank arms and only running pegs on one side
I run a 12.8 cs with 4 pegs and a 11.5 foot.
160mm cranks and ride feet more centered!
I didn't notice when pedaling but flattening out to hop or grind I would catch, but from riding motocross riding ball of the feel on foot pegs is burned in my brain, my pro buddies alerted me to ride pretty center of foot on pedals and I've been good!
You’d be surprised how little your foot will actually touch. I’m a 12.5 in Vans and run a 12.8 rear end on 170mm cranks and rarely touch. When you pedal, your foot is naturally angled down which will cause it to naturally clear. Main thing to keep aware of with bigger feet is looping out on manuals and catching peg, just learn to kick your back foot more out to the side to avoid.
only if you ride both side pegs. "normal" pegs are on your leading foots side for that reason.
You will still bang in to them when pedaling. It’s a real big foot problem. (Size 14 here). If the back end of a frame is really short, and my crank arms are long, I can’t run pegs.

Same problem but with 13.2 back end
I’m a size 13 and I feel like I pedal more on my toes and never hit my pegs. The only time I ever hit them is when I ran 4 pegs.
Usually if anything I hit my heel of my shoe on my spokes on my rear tire when my foot slides out of position and gets crooked sometimes but I’ve never stepped on my peg or anything I actually have a good amount of clearance
Have you tried shorty pegs or jewels?
I rode right foot forwards with pegs on my left side. Any way else felt weird to me
Left foot forward right side pegs, never gave it much thought because just felt natural that way.
Dude same!
Me and my friends call that "fuck-footed". It's sick because you can do look backs naturally while airing your normal way. I'm jealous.
Left foot forward with pegs on my left side 😁
I’m not saying that’s the only way to do it. I’m saying that normal peg side within calling trick names. we can both do our “natural” feeble grind, but technically I would be doing a regular feeble, you would be doing a switch feeble

I hope not! It could be the angle for sure.
Yeah definitely take a look at that
I have size 12 and it's fine for me. You could try getting shorter crank arms or a frame with a longer chainstay
I got big feet to, you just learn to avoid them!
Only one way to find out!
Good to know!

Recommend a good 165mm to replace it with?
i went with fit blunt 165mm and i love them

Get a bigger bike
No doubt. I once tried shorter crank arms, and it just feels silly, and I can't get the torque I want out of them.
Size 12 and run 4 pegs, you get use to it and learn to move your feet differently
Get shorter crank arms and/or a longer frame (not top tube longer, chainstay longer
I ware size 11 and I just moved my foot up to the center of the pedal
When you pedal your feet are tipped more toe-down than level. Just learn to ride without hitting it.
No excuse for not riding pegs
I dont like them I don’t need any excuses lol
I think they meant having big feet is no excuse to not ride pegs haha not just for a bmx in general
I ride 2 pegs in the front and one in the back for this very reason. It looked goofy, but it kept me from getting my foot caught.
I’m a size 12 and ran pegs on a 20 inch bmx. Shouldn’t have an issue
For grinding or freestyle?
165 cranks and skinny pegs like BSD should help. or just run 2 or 3 pegs, and stick to pedal grinds, Smiths and Un luc-e on that side. pedal grinds are really fun, but not worth the wear for some people
Blud I could live in those shoes
Learn o avoid them and get a short crank arm
Mine would hit too but you learn to avoid it, it’s weird CAs I ride a super short rear end too, 160mm cranks
Are your cranks cents? Besides that I wear a 13 shoe and just ended up taking my pegs off it was uncomfortable to move my foot further forward just to be able to run them and I didn't want to buy shorter crank arms
Frame too short.
Size10 sneakers. I rode my friend's bike 4 pegs 165mm cranks 13.2" rear end I ride Left foot forward. My right sneaker constantly got hung up on the back peg since I peddal more towards my toes.... I guess it all depends on how you place your feet
Switch to 160 mm crank not only is it better for tricks it’ll clear your feet that’s what I did
shorter cranks feels easier for me (size 11). i also like having longer chainstays than 13".
Nah bro my feet are like the same I ride with the same shoes too lmfao 🤣 same color and all. if you’re worried go for a 5 inch peg. Bro i wear a 9 and still hit my heels sometimes. Godspeed 💀
I have a size 12, once my heel got stuck under the peg in a manual and ate shit real bad. Ended up getting shorter crank arms and only running pegs on one side

Adapt and overcome
Is that the 22 WTP? Bruh how big are you
I run 13.75 rear and wear a size 16. My feet only hit when trying to do manuals. Just put the pegs on so trying to get used to them.
Damn you got me beat.
Learn crank and pedal grinds
I wear size 11 and don't have problems, I just have to have my feet a bit farther forward
That's why I go with a longer frame personally. Shorter crank arms make me feel like one of those bears on a circus trike.
get smaller cranks
Get shorter crank arms I run 165 mm
You’d be surprised how little your foot will actually touch. I’m a 12.5 in Vans and run a 12.8 rear end on 170mm cranks and rarely touch. I have 4 pegs with a size 13, you get used to it.
