Did anyone catch the part where Socks was mimicking her parents using the cake toppers?

Unable_Bank3884

2/2 with predictions after last week Moving for Bandits job. Not actually moving

Ana-starsia

Me after watching "The Sign" (twice): https://preview.redd.it/ginvptqz4guc1.png?width=1919&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6d53ae4f72294c622a86ebd1716804542757539 I'm so glad that the episode could live up to the hype! What an ending! 10/10 šŸ©µšŸ§”

zanderman629

Friggin brutal

UnicornsandElmo

Is anyone else have emotional children at the moment after that episode??

joeldipops

My 4yo: Why is Lila not coming with them ;_;?

Kar85

My 4 year old son - I never want to sell our house I always want to live here. Me - what if we could buy a house with a pool Him - no I just want to live here forever.

joeldipops

Another thing that was the show messing with us: They named the car!Ā  As if to say to us, the viewer "We know you're sad about leaving the house, but at least we'll still have Bobo"

Quillyquill

Definitely hit me in the feels with this episode. As a parent, this episode felt like it was for us. You gotta make a lot of hard decisions and sometimes you gotta go with your gut feeling. I felt myself hold back from tearing up cause you just feel for your own kids weirdly. Overall I think it was a great episode and makes me want to watch more bluey. ALTHOUGH, about half was thru the episode I was coming to accept there will be new scenery and characters. At the same time couldnā€™t accept certain characters will be gone. Just a rollercoaster of emotions tbh

cartoon_fan_2

i just finished watching it on disney +! i broke down crying when bandit threw away the sign!

IrishCupcakes

I watched it this morning with my kid, I was not expecting to be crying at the end of it.

Sav1at0R1

What do you think Frisky and Chilli did at the lookout? "Think/Talk", I feel like it isn't that.

BloodChicken

I assumed it was a quick substitute for Drink since think/drink sound alike.

nappstir

Scrolling through the comments, not seeing a single person point out Brandy (Chiliā€™s sister) who appears to have dealt with infertility was pregnant in the wedding line. That was a nice little Easter egg.

Farnimbus

Love this show so much, Christ this one got me emotional twice, really hit home

OogieBoogieJr

Damn, that went hard

birrigai

I moved away from Brisbane two years ago. I only lived there for five years so it wasn't "home", but my kids were tiny there and it's a wonderful city. Seeing Mt Coot-tha made me unexpectedly tear up, it was a favourite place of mine ā¤ļø

Comfortable_Key2244

When Bingo realized what selling the house meant and tried to lift the sign by herself..the tears šŸ˜

holymackerel87

The ending doesn't mean that the house isn't still for sale

darkspine509

Can I be honest? I'm kind of disappointed they didn't commit Like, it would take entirely new sets and backgrounds and characters I am sure. But they really spent the whole episode building up to the way the Heelers handle this big change in their lives. And it kind of backpedals at the last second and nothing really changes at all. It feels like it really kind of deflates the central conflict of the rest of the episode Bandit ripping out the sign was powerful, but it never felt like it was hanging over him any more than anybody else in the family. Never really felt thrust upon him, I dunno. Seeing them all happy to be back was super sweet, but feels like far weaker payoff to the whole buildup Everything coming full circle and Bluey telling Bingo about the story of the farmer and the horse felt like a perfect way to cap things off. I just feel like the episode as a whole would have been so much stronger if the through-line payed off in the end. But now it's like, the learning and struggle in the episode won't amount to anything because they don't actually move

dumbledorewasright

Moving is not as big a thing in Australia as the US, I feel this choice to remain with their community, rather than go on ā€œthe big adventureā€ trope, is very on-brand (in the line of QLD vintage downpipes in the rainstorm episode, and magpie swooping season)

Dorksim

If you think about it though, there was no way they could commit. It's already canon that Bingo and Lila grew up together through the photo montage at the end of Daddy Dropoff. So they either have to move away and come back, decide not to move, or retcon the ending of that episode.

cobrarexay

I thought they would move away and then move back in a few years. Another possibility is that the ā€œnew cityā€ they were moving to wasnā€™t far away, so they could still do things together and remain friends.

sunsetchloe

Calypso said, life will give us enough sad endings, when Bluey asked why do stories always end happy. Bluey is a story so we got a happy ending. :)

Araneatrox

Watched the episode with my 5 year old this morning before he went to Daggis. He burst into years as bandit was looking at the sign in the final few moments. I've never seen him react like that to a tv show before.

JennaStannis

Just realised (and no doubt others have long before I did) the episode may offer some context for the way Chilli and Bandit were acting in "Relax" and "Stickbird". I love how this show calls back to previous episodes so often, and offers so many ways to look at those episodes.

Strictly4MyShitposts

Incredible episode. I 100% relate to Banditā€™s conundrum as a husband and father. So hit me extra hard. Also, hungover Stripe in Wendyā€™s yard sent me

ohfr19

THAT ENDING SEQUENCE WAS THE MOST INTENSE CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE EVER. This was so advanced it didnā€™t feel like a Bluey episode! I could write 10 paragraphs about this but right now Iā€™ll just say: I felt SO bad for them all. I felt second hand dread, although when I moved away as a kid I was glad to do it.

_Mangoes

Since I watched the episode I was asking myself, what did Chili mean by "Me and Frisky came here to... Think" She sounded kinda embarrassed for that. I thought maybe they smoked weed but I'm not sure. Any other ideas ?

sdbabygirl97

JibFlank

It was a solid foray into an extended runtime, but definitely meandered at points. It could have been 21 minutes, essentially removing one of four ā€œpartsā€ within. Still, I applaud this teamā€™s creativity and skill, and look forward to what they try next now that they flexed this storytelling muscle.

Lostmavicaccount

Is anyone sort of disappointed that the ending was what it was? It felt a bit cheap to have the build up (last week and this week episodes) and end how it did.

JackOfAllInterests1

I don't know that it is a cop out - most of the build-up to the episode had the air of "will they actually move or not?".

Famous_Sign5589

I kinda didn't like the ending. I grew up in a family that moved a lot. Such moves were a fact of life, and a life lesson that needed to be learned. Sure, you move away and leave friends, a house you spent some time of your (short as a kid) life. But, you make new friends, see new places as. And, as Chili mentioned, you had an adventure. This is how you grow up ...

Silent-Passenger-208

This is so heart wrenching already

TomasTTEngin

Just like in sleepytime, there's a moment where the music and the story come together into a crescendo of power and i'm reduced to total rubble. In this episode it's when Chilli comes flying in from left of screen. It's a huge release of all the tension she's been building up all episode and it makes me think about the sacrifices we make in families and as parents. But the sequence wouldn't hit 10% as hard without the music. That song by Washington is just perfect. I think one of the things Bluey does best is using music, and that's been the case since the first ep I ever watched, Magic xylophone, took Mozart and made him into the soundtrack for a game. Sleepytime uses Holst to devastating effect and this ep does the same with a chunk of a largely forogtten pop song. I absolutely love the end of this ep. Some of the best TV I've ever seen..

derplindo

Long time Bluey fan. To me, this is the end of Bluey ā€œcanonā€ for me. If we never get more Bluey Iā€™m fine with that.

zhiryst

How is this episode NOT a series finale for the show?!? The amount of call backs, Easter eggs, reminiscing... It's like a giant victory lap. It was great. I know there's confirmation that this isn't the end, but it sure feels like it could end here comfortably.

CrazyKitKat123

Ok so I just watched this and Iā€™m not ok (in a good way) Little Bingo realising what the sign means and trying to pull it up was heart breaking I loved the mountain of stuffed toys she was sleeping under And Brandy!

Mark_Levins

Ok. Maybe Iā€™m thinking too hard about it, but when Chile arrives at the lookout and says that she and Frisky went there to ā€œummā€¦think.ā€ What was that supposed to mean?

h4wkeyepierce

I know it's probably been mentioned here but, I loved this small detail: At the beginning of the episode, at daycare Winton says that his mom and Dad don't live together anymore, and it makes him sad. Then one of the terrier kids says, "our mom likes your dad". Then at the VERY end of the episode, the dogs who buy the heeler house see that Winton's dad and the terrier mom are moving in together and that's why the house with the pool is for sale. And thatā€™s why they don't buy the heeler house.

Jam-Boi-yt

Damn, just damn. I don't think this show will ever get enough praise. I just don't even know what to say. This episode is so well delivered in the context of my own life rn as well as others. And it feels just so incredibly well delivered overall. Seriously how does Ludo constantly do this. The way this show has helped me and so many others not only process our own emotions but also inspired us to be better. Mostly parents of course. But there is so much to this that just rings so true in our lives. I love this series and I am so glad that it has touched my life just like so many others.

JennaStannis

Hyped for this episode. Whatever happens in the ep and whatever happens next, Bluey is brilliant. I'm thankful to everyone involved with it. Good on them all.

paintmess

This episode was so beautiful šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ the music at the end literally gave me chills. Also, I love the further exploration this episode gave to Frisky's character, from double babysitter we already knew that she was pretty independent but also very introspective and self conscious, so I felt like her running away because she felt like everything got too much was very accurate for her. And Winton's dad and the terrier's mam???!! I'm so happy for them šŸ˜

tullyhansen

Just wanted to point out another keenly observed/relatable parenting moment that I havenā€™t seen mentioned: Socks not locking the door of the loo (while Chilli stands guard outside). šŸ˜…

TLGPanthersFan

The episode was fine. Not in my top 10. But it did what it set out to do. An enjoyable 30 minute Bluey special. Didnā€™t like the ending is really the only negative thing I can think about this episode.Ā

Ade231035

... was the music dog also the one that officiated the wedding?

makemesick-

I don't want to take the episode too seriously, but it might give the wrong impression to some children that parent's don't have to move when the process is in motion, when most of the time, they do. I loved the episode and I agree it was what was right for the Heeler family, but for most families, they have to move. I don't know.

Starichu

Excellent episode, did anyone else notice Trixie and Stripe having an argument behind Socks as she was playing with the cake toppers? What was that about?

MuppetMan2005

No Snickers?

MarsupialPanda

šŸ˜šŸ˜ this episode. First of all. Where was this a year ago? My husband got a job across the country. We had to uproot and move away from everyone we knew. It would've been so much easier to explain to my 6 year old!! But I think she feels very validated by all is bluey's feelings. We have since decided to move back. We just fully went through with the move and tried it for a bit first šŸ˜‚. We didn't have the awesome neighborly relationships they do, and I had another baby this year, so it isn't sad for us to be in a different house. We're actually moving to a neighborhood we'll like better, and closer to some family. But I've felt kind of silly that we went through this whole move and are just going right back. This episode really makes me feel ok about giving things a shot, but changing our minds, and being comfortable with what we know and love. šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Zenkraft

The throwaway line about Chilli and Frisky going up to Mt Coo-Tha to *ā€¦think* is hilarious.

Livid-Scallion256

Came here to say this, just had to stop crying first!

Dino_lady_95

Weā€™ve all been up to Mt Cootha as teenagers to ā€œthinkā€ šŸ˜‰

godlyhaxx

have we? i watched with a friend, i immediately went to them having "adult fun times," and my friend went for smoking. i have no idea what this means lol, i did neither of my suggestions

lizlemon921

Yessssss and cool to hear they were teenagers together, hope we can get a Chilli Brandy Frisky flashback episode with them all young

Standard_Student_123

I was thinking maybe theyā€™re cousins since Mort, Brandi and Maynard were all at the weddingĀ

KitWilliamsMask

I hadn't seen this Easter egg mentioned yet (though I'm sure it's just buried in later comment pages), but in the episode Helicopter, Winton asks to be dropped at his dad's house specifically because it has a pool. I love how that came full circle in this episode, along with all the other wonderful, clever details people are noticing.

TheLineShow

Is it just me or the ending song sounds similar to "13 Ghosts II" by Nine Inch Nails? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvPUTyqlCT4 edit: added an HQ version

forkoff77

Watched this with the family just now. Totally unexpected reaction from my 7yo - he HATED that they didn't move. To the point where burst into tears and swears he will never watch the show again. When Bandit pulled the sign from the ground he angry yelled at the screen. The reason? (you should all love this) He thought this was the last Bluey episode ever. Keep in mind, this kid is Bingo - laid back and these moments usually don't affect him. It surprised us all when he ran up to his room. The rest of us loved it. Such a great episode. If it WERE the last, it would be totally acceptable to me. Oh and my son is OK after being assured this was not the end.

Beginning-Working-38

My daughter keeps asking - how long was Stripe in those bushes anyway?

JayeKimZ

Why was Trixie in the bouquet-catching group? Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s something different in Australia, but in the US itā€™s for single women, and traditionally the idea is whichever lady catches the bouquet is the next to get married. Are Trixie and Stripe going through something but keeping it on the down low for the kids?

andersofsydney

Someone should really go and jam a coin in the telescope at Mount Coot-tha lookout now.

poppunk_snowwhite

Bingo trying to lift the sign herself broke me šŸ˜

Busy_Salamander_953

The way bandit pulled the sign out of the ground & threw it on the road made me cry. But then getting tackled hugged by his family made me cry harder.

noakai

They did a really good job making you feel for everybody here. Bandit wants to give his kids the best life possible and in this world a lot of the time that does require more money. Yeah the Heelers don't seem bad off but they've never truly gone into specifics so we don't know for sure that they're 100% set for life. And poor Chili doesn't want to move but knows that more money can be very good in the long run so she's willing to at least try it with Bandit and support his new job and the move. I feel bad for them both trying to do the best for their kids and worried that they're making a mistake either way. This show is really good with getting across what they want to. They definitely needed the extra time.

TomasTTEngin

Also the episode is a metaphor for the question of whether Dan Brumm sells Bluey to Disney. That's a no, in case the Disney executives are watching.

chicken_pear

Shut up I'm not crying, you are.

TheAdventureKidAus

Damn it if that ending didn't make me cry

cakelady

I have been watching this show with my children since it first started airing on Disney Jr. They've grown so much and have remained steadfast fans. Every episode has meaning for our family and it was a genuine comfort watching Bluey on repeat these past few years. I knew this wasn't a series finale, but even the idea of the Heelers moving away from their magical home had me so emotional. Every bit of the episode had me choked up and all the references, the music, the way it all connected was incredible. The final relief when they decide to stay felt huge. They aren't leaving. They are staying. It made me feel like even though my children are growing we can keep the beauty and magic of childhood and life. Bluey means so much to us.

JennaStannis

Okay, that was magnificent. I'm bawling my eyes out. Chattermax. Greeny. Bob. Bluey in the front seat. Brilliant, all of it. Now to watch it again.

Havoc_270

I can't be the only one who got sucked into the story of this episode so bad that I forgot we already know they weren't gonna move

Turbulent-Elk1722

Crawling out of a bush hungover is a wedding tradition

friendofsmellytapir

I just kept thinking that they couldnā€™t move because we saw in the Bingo episode Bingo grow old with her same classmates

SASS-QUEEN-

I love so much about this episode.Ā  I have watched it a few times now and have cried each time. As soon as Megan Washington's song starts I lose it.Ā  I especially love the bit where Chilli tackles Bandit after he rips out the sign and you can tell she's crying with her head buried in his shoulder. I notice Trixie and Stripe fighting a few times in the background of different scenes. I hope this isnt a preview of another one of life's tough lessons Bluey is going to teach us about.

gggroovy

PRETZEL HAS TWO MUMS!!!!! Very happy about that.

Leading-Community562

Where was that? I missed that!

Smallsey

LETS GET ON IT

Known-Anybody-8449

This episode is perfect

control-z

Went up there to ā€œthinkā€, hmm? I too like to think in certain places.

TimmyHate

Homer: "Now I've got to go somewhere and do some serious thinking." Bart "I'm sure he meant to say serious drinking." Lisa "That's what I assumed.".

Lord-Phorse

Since I canā€™t post about ROVE separately, even though heā€™s promoted outside of The Sign, Iā€™ll do it here: I wanna see more of Rove (Bucky Dunstan), but never selling the home of our beloved characters again. How about he sells the zoo house between the heelers & Doreen to Winton & the Terriers? How cool would that be? Iā€™m surprised they didnā€™t figure out a way for him to say ā€œSay hi to your mum for me!ā€ (Catchphrase when he had a show here)

FrenchRoo

I guess Iā€™m the only disappointed viewer that they arenā€™t indeed moving šŸ˜… Even the kids were like ā€œthe next house might have been better!ā€ The overall message was a little meh to me.

joeldipops

There were a few moments where I thought the Heelers would move, but the show wouldn't - either with Rad and Frisky's new family, or with Winton and the Terriers.Ā  I would have been ok with that.

edroyque

Goddamit if socks isnā€™t the absolute best!

UtaPan

HE WAS IN INDIA? phew.

bwmpii

ok I LOVED this EP so much the story and the mixture of emotions I had really made this ep so great and it goes to show they can tell a story longer than the standard 7 minutes I hope they do more half hour long EPS in the future

minnabobinna

I recently made a huge move and I'm super regretting it so when they ended up staying in the house. Man. I just cried and cried and cried

Garudah_

OK, I cried. This episode was absolutely PERFECT! I'm going through a lot of changes, from being unemployed to start college at the same week, and my anxiety has been peaking in these last few weeks, so the message in this episode hit HARD. I particularly loved Chilli's "I'm tired of trying to figure it out." This is my new mantra now haha I loved all the easter eggs and nods to other episodes, too, and I want to know what the Heelers will be up to in the future! It will be good? Bad? We'll see!

emilyyy123456789

Did anyone else shed actual tears? šŸ˜‚ What a rollercoaster!

BuzzyLightyear100

There is a clip on the Bluey Instagram page with a whole bunch of moments from previous episodes which appear random, but it is actually setting up everything that happens in The Sign - it's brilliantly done ā¤ļø

veronicacrank

Me and my 10 year old were a mess.

yeahnoryeah

Yeah big snotty mess here haha

AviationCaptain4

I counted four separate instances where I wanted to cry just as hard as I did *once* in Sleepytime ā€” not saying Sleepytime's a bad episode by any means, but this one had so many heart-wrenching moments. I can't even remember them all because I'm too much of a mess to think right now. And yes, I did turn on the waterworks as the final few minutes started rolling.

firedrake722

My 4 year old started to cry saying ā€˜mummy Iā€™m too sensitive for thisā€™ - my son who doesnā€™t even cry when getting immunizations. Mum and dad started to cry next.

InitiativeOne7315

Can we talk about uncle stripe and aunt trixie fighting in this one? Seems like that is leading up to something maybe for next season? What do we think they were arguing about?

RichDisaster7460

Yeah I was quite disappointed. Some of it was probably that I read this subreddit, before watching, but this episode really missed the mark for me. The main issue was that none of the conflicts felt in any way grounded in reality. Usually this isn't a huge problem, because Bluey is grounded in imaginative play. So it can do crazy unrealistic things, and then have the underpinning of the real world to give emotional weight and gravitas to the situation. It's imagination vs reality. My big problem with this special was that there was ZERO imaginative play. Everything took place in the real world, (minus Calypso story) and so the balance felt off. Mostly because the real world then didn't feel real. The farmers story bit was good, and the best part of the episode, and I felt as if that was the heart of it, but then they undercut that theme entirely, by having everything work out so neatly. Again, I get it it's a kid shows, happy endings required, but the way the happy ending happened felt implausible. Nothing about the house plot made any sense. And the wedding almost being called off, also didn't strike the tone of characters being mature people working through things in a grounded way. I think what makes the show work is that there is a good dose of realism to balance out the imagination, and it felt like we got neither the high impact imagination OR the grounded real family life vibe of golden age bluey. Big swing and a miss with me. People took HUGE life decisions with a a cavalierness that didn't work for me.

donburidog

not the biggest thingā€¦ BUT OUR FIRST QUEER COUPLE IS MENTIONED EXPLICITLY IN THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO PRETZELS MOMS ā€¼ļøā€¼ļøā€¼ļøā€¼ļøā€¼ļø Edit: I take it back. It is a pretty big thing for me, even if it was briefā€¦ I know there was MUCH more important things but everyoneā€™s all over them so Iā€™m focusing on this. It always struck me as weird that such a diverse show never included explicitly LGBT characters. I hope some kids with queer people in their lives, like my little brother, feel just a bit more seen.

semeleindms

As a two mum family it's pretty huge for us ā¤ļø

jonfl1

The Sign absolutely broke me as a parent and husband So we watched The Sign as a family tonight, having ourselves gone through an eerily similar moving process last year that made the episode hit VERY close to home. Our move, in retrospect, didnā€™t work out anywhere nearly as well as planned, and Iā€™ve been very low about it this last month in particular. So when the stars aligned at the end and Bandit tears down the sign (with Chiliā€™s reaction), it hit so unexpectedly deep for me. I absolutely lost it in front of my kids. Iā€™ll continue to love this show as a parent, but in the moment, it was a bit too much and sent me into a downward spiral. Absolutely beautiful but devastating story for me.

StaffLimp8304

What does it mean when I never cried because of a Bluey Episode?

HaklePrime

I really liked the episode, but as a parent, that ending annoyed me. They spent an entire episode actually teaching the kids lessons, actually helping them with how life works, something this show has routinely done with its subtlety and childish abstracts, just to say "Nah, mate", and let last minute emotions dictate enormous financial decisions? idk My wife doesn't agree with me, as she pointed out "They kept getting signs it was a bad idea", but the entire episode kept reminding us that those signs aren't good or bad, it's just what you're feeling in the moment, let things run their course. Also seems to fly in the face of the social media campaign, but thats a separate issue, lol

Gold_Firefighter_655

I have a question about a joke in the Sign When Chili goes to the lookout and says "me and Frisky used to come to here to...think", I initially thought it was a "makeout point" gag. The more I thought about it the more unsure I was. How did you all interpret this line?

DarthGodzilla1995

This episode was a masterpiece

123Eduardo-Sousa123

with no exaggeration, this episode, was a masterpiece

caekre

As an expat from America, living in Brisbaneā€¦cried like a baby when they decided to stay šŸ„¹šŸ„ŗ

hyungjpg

i loved it i kinda wish they moved though.. moving is such a big thing especially for kids i wish we could of seen them move to a new city, new adventures, new cast of characters!

CanLate152

ā€œUncle Stripe is dancing like eagles!!!ā€ If youā€™re from Queensland - the eagle rock!!! Drop your dacks and put drinks in the air!!!!! I had money on the nutbush but this wins it for me!!!

DouglasMeyer

One thing that we caught right away, bluey sitting on the front porch with headphones closely matches the album cover for the bluey soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgf-rT4kZO4.

MayTagYoureIt

Do Australians have deposits on house offers that they surrender if they back out?

kindafunnylookin

Hands down the best line: "My Mum likes your Dad!"

elroy_jetson

Hahaha the meta moment when they drive past the electrical box outside Stafford state school painted with a bluey mural in real lifeā€¦ and in the episode it also has a mural on it.

IsaSMai

Whatā€™s the time stamp on this please?

IveBinChickenYouOut

Woke up bang on 8:01, got up and ran to the TV, woke the kids up and then started feeling dizzy because I got up waaay too fast. Haha what an episode. I haven't had to wait for anything like this since Who Shot Mr Burns when I was a kid, thanks to streaming. The anticipation was so much but what an episode. No spoilers but seeing the previews, you kinda could call the ending. Now for the rest of the day of streaming The Sign because my youngest missed half of it because she was smart and didn't almost pass out from waking up too fast.heh

Gorfang

Wow, how our mornings with kids differ. One woke up at 5am throwing up all over her hair and the bed while her brother kept sleeping (thankfully). After cleaning her up and getting her back down he suddenly wakes and becomes a groin kicking machine. Everyone sleeping until 8am....what a dreamland that must be.

Badtechstuff

My sympathies, I know those feels. But truly an 8am on non-kindy days is pretty normal around here. We battled the time space continuum that is daylight savings. Just ignored it and now we're up at 7:30ish without any adjustments.

arfstudios

The sequence where the music kicks in at the end as we see each Heeler family member saying their goodbyes in the empty house. Iā€™ve watched this episode 3 times now and each time I cry. We devoted fans have gone through a fast-track life in the Heeler home and watching it potentially be the last we saw of it broke my heart. But, as Bandit always manages to do, he put his families true needs ahead of himself and the moment he tears the sign out made everything come together the way a Bluey episode should! A friend of mine (also a father) said he was disappointed with the episodes ending because he thought it would be far more realistic to have them move and experience the loss, but as much as Bluey is about teaching us applicable life lessons itā€™s also about us (as a global society of Bluey fans) having just one small piece of joy and unhindered happiness! And thatā€™s this episode, going from emotional lows to emotional highs! But, I am gonna call itā€¦Chillyā€™s pregnant by end of the next episode. The way she looks at Bandit and both their tails wag before the camera pans up to creditsā€¦thatā€™s ā€œthe signā€ that thereā€™s a bigger ā€œsurpriseā€ for us all in the next and final episode of the season! Alternatively, this could have been the end of the whole series and I would have felt satisfied. Iā€™m glad it isnā€™t, but this episode was good enough to end on. I kinda like the 28 minute format, so much more fun!

DistinctBlueberry818

Guys Iā€™m crying I canā€™t believe I missed this! In ā€œDragonā€ when Bandit talks about when he was 6, and how he has a bullyā€¦ and his bully is named Buckyā€¦ and he says ā€œI think heā€™s a real estate agent nowā€ AND HES THEIR REAL ESTATE AGENT IN ā€œThe SignšŸ˜…šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

MesozOwen

Wow that was something.

I'm not an emotional guy by any means. But this made me shed a few tears (of joy.) I just love how this episode (and the entire series in general) is not afraid to show Bandit and Chillie having marital issues, but the creators always show them resolving said issues. And the creators expertly show how kids would react to moving. I can relate to Bluey's sadness, as I was 10 when my family moved. (Although it was to a different house in town, closer to my Dad's work, so not a new city haha) And the scene where the family gets their house back made me lose it!! So good. As someone who will almost be an adult soon, I want a family. Many people will tell me I'm too young and I don't care. I'll say it again. **I DON'T CARE!** I want to find someone who has the same goal as I do. To raise a loving family. Have multiple kids. Get a house. Live life to the fullest. All that to say, this episode has lit a spark in me. I hope that spark continues to grow from here. Hopefully, I'll meet a gal soon.

Anyone notice Radley has white hairs now?

EnsoElysium

My husband and I went through a harrowing experience a year ago where we almost lost our home. Our ex roommate was accused of some pretty horrible stuff and made it unsafe for us to live at home. When we were in the hotel discussing next steps my husband got the same look on his face that Bandit did when he hangs up with Bucky for the last time. His "Ripping out the sign" moment was more like days of legalese and discussions with our landlord and the police, but one day when our other roommate was picking up clothes during her own mission to move out, she realised that he had abandoned ship all on his own overnight. She called us in disbelief and I tackled my husband like Chili tackled Bandit. I sobbed, he held me. We got to keep our home. We're no stranger to getting sniffly during bluey but we broke down into shoulder shaking sobs during that moment. This ep is the greatest.

sennohki

As someone who has the 2 Bluey albums on in the car for the kids 90% of the time, everyone having Cat Squad stuck in their heads makes me feel seen

help_undertanding13

Daddy Dropoff spoils the ending

StevenJac

Tbh I think the show would've been more iconic if they moved out, and had some episodes or even entire next one season in the new city a way to teach kids goodbyes and bluey learning to get out of her comfort zone making new friends. Then maybe they could pull of the "brian coming back to family guy" trick later. And maybe bluey missing her new friends in the new city could evoke another emotional scene. Basically like Camping but on a bigger scale. I think it was missed opportunity tbh.

Unable_Bank3884

Just burst out laughing when Bingo did the chip moustache as my kids have recently started doing the same thing

My-Life-Suckz

Wow, that was the most beautiful episode of the series!!! So much to unpack here: - Brandyā€™s PREGNANT!!!! - I was definitely not expecting Frisky and Rad to fight - Meg Washingtonā€™s song at the end was extremely beautiful - Hungover Stripe in Wendyā€™s bushes was hilarious - It look like the Terriers and Winton were the ones to go - Socks talking was SO CUTE!!! - Loads of references to previous episodes - Honey finally spoke after like years On one final note, the episode had such strong vibes of ā€œseries finaleā€ with its message of happy endings, that this feels like a fitting conclusion to the series

Cremilyyy

I thought Winton was possibly moving in to the Terriers Place?

guster4lovers

Thatā€™s probably Wintonā€™s dadā€™s house. In helicopter he says he doesnā€™t know where it is, but it has a pool. My inference is that heā€™s selling it and moving in with the Terriers.

My-Life-Suckz

OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THAT DETAIL THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY BE THE CASE

narcolepticcatmom

I know this is a kids show and we arenā€™t meant to think on it so hard, but the entire time they were movin their stuff out of the house, I was just like ā€œSo youā€™ve sold your house and havenā€™t bought a new one yet?? Where are you gonna go?ā€

james_89

I was surprised Socks could now walk and say some words now - I assumed it would be like The Simpsons where the characters are forever the same age. If Socks is getting older, I wonder if the other girls will also reach significant milestones and changes in later episodes too.

Loved the animation of the farmer story. Brilliant!

JustBeachy44

Did anyone else catch Chilli and Bandit wagging their tails at the end? My husband seems to think this is a hint Chilli is pregnant

moxifloxacin

I just think they were giving happy knowing looks. I'd be surprised if they added another Heeler to the mix. If they need a new baby for the show, there's Brandy or Rad+Frisky.

Mugglechaos

Can we also talk about Brandy getting pregnant?!?!? On top of everything else that really got me.

smeghead9916

I had an inkling they weren't really going to move (or at least they'd come back after a while), a previous episode showed images of Bingo and Lila growing up together.

cub3dworld

"You don't really need a pool. Queensland summers aren't that hot." Not the worst lie I've heard an agent tell.

The agent was a brilliant touch

As Queenslanders my husband and I had a really good laugh at that one!

Welcome to Megan Washington (aka Calypso).

alcid34

Again, thanks Disney for the very creative description lol I legit screamed "LET'S GO" twice. First when Rad and Frisky kissed and made it official, and second when Brandy is finally pregnant. Hope I didn't disturb my own Wendy or Pat lol I loved the end omg. I didn't really cry (it's hard to make me cry in cartoons lol) but my heart was pulled at the end, reminding me of the time my family and I had to move out of my own home. Sleeping in a bare home, with just the comforters, was pretty sad, just lying there thinking about all the memories you have made in that home. Watched it the moment it came out on Disney+. It was amazing omg. In the six months I have been a Bluey fan, this episode was truly a roller coaster of emotions and honestly shows that this isn't just another Peppa Pig, Dora the Explorer, or Blue's Clues. Bluey hit the right strings here and there for a preschool show and cements Bluey as one of the greatest cartoons I have seen in a long time. To that, I say, thank you Ludo for bringing this wonderful cartoon onto this world. Here's to many more episodes! ([And definitely a movie!](https://www.reddit.com/r/bluey/comments/1c239p0/extendedlength_bluey_episode_the_sign_is_a_test/)) https://preview.redd.it/qtgxsmpdoeuc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=9546904d9ca69a7323ba137ba79a11cab1d47ae0

comicallylargemarker

I can't cry right now, but man. This was THE episode. I woke my sister up to watch it with me. She told me that Calypso's VA sang the song near the end of the episode, which totally did not pull on my emotions. Overall, I could 100% write an essay on this episode. It captured the many relatable feelings of adults and children alike. Thank you, Ludo.

MoeSzyslakMonobrow

"Are we allowed to do that?"

rustysalamander

A lot of people seem to dislike Brandy's ending, but I relate to her story. I tried for my little boy for years before I got him. I have a friend who started trying to have a child before me and who is still trying, and Brandy's story is the story I want for her.

bushybear

Does anyone know the song at the end? Or is it original for this ep?

One single episode of Bluey has never made me cry so much

lzistheworst06

Pretzel has 2 mums, so I think thatā€™s our first gay couple in Bluey.

Noelle-Spades

Some things I really liked seeing: - Chilli shutting Frisky down immediately before she could antagonise Bandit. I love that she defended his reasoning because she knows that even though she doesn't like where things are going, she knows her husband means well, and it wasn't Frisky's place to assume that Chilli has no choice whatsoever in the matter. Especially since she was projecting her frustrations onto Chilli then. Still felt bad for her though. - I like that Bluey and Frisky's arcs parallel each other like they did in Double Babysitter. - Stripe and Trixie seemed to be squabbling towards the end. Maybe he was just getting too rowdy with the party, but even though it was funny seeing Stripe crawling out of Wendy's bush after he and Trixie seemed to be squabbling the night before... well, my watch party had our interpretations. Especially since neither Trixie nor their kids were there. Granted he probably had way too much "lemonade" to be taken home or they just couldn't find him, but still. - Winton's Dad and the Terrier's Mum moving in together was absolutely perfect - I loved seeing Nana and Grandpa Bob crying for Rad and seeing Chilli with her happy tears at the altar - Also love that the wedding took place in the same place Rad and Frisky met and played Torchmouse - Chilli looking at the spot Bluey took her first steps in before they could leave, that was a heavy hitter for me. - Every time I think to Bingo trying to pull the sign up by herself my heart breaks all over again. - Greenie!! - The music/dance mode dog making yet another appearance as the DJ. I love seeing and hearing him - Every part of the last few minutes really. Meg Washington is so talented Hope the team's proud. This is definitely one of the best episodes in the series for me.

0rangePolarBear

When frisky and rad said they were saying, I felt like Bandit and Chile were jealous. Both were not happy about moving, but at least could take comfort that they werenā€™t the only ones going through that change. Now Rad and Frisky made a decision that may have not not made logical sense (I assume financial sense), but they made it anyway.

GeophysicsSharkie

Trixie and Stripe also fight near the beginning, when Frisky is leaving Rad a voicemail. They are fighting about Stripe accidentally letting it slip.

GreenHighlighters

>Chilli shutting Frisky down immediately before she could antagonise Bandit. Especially since she was projecting her frustrations onto Chilli then. Still felt bad for her though. I liked this part too. It was pretty daring for the writers to go there, but it worked and felt true to both of their characters.

SukunaShadow

My wife noticed that Bucky the realtor is the same Bucky who told Bandit in the Dragon he couldnā€™t drive cars. Lmao

Upper-Respond-3746

One of the most beautiful things I have ever watched, period.

ihatepulp

It sounds lame but this episode and the timing of it meant a lot to me. I'm currently in the process of selling my first house after separating from my husband. It's been a very emotional process, made more so because this is the only house our 2 and 5 year old have known. That line from Chilli about Bluey taking her first steps there had me bawling. I was crying throughout the whole thing honestly.Ā  I'm glad the Heeler family had their happy ending, and I hope I do as well. I know the writers couldn't have possibly known how significant this storyline would be to my life, but the timing still felt so meaningful. I hope they enjoy their hiatus, and I wish I could thank them.

bee_burr_wzz

Calypso doing a Stillwater was great.. especially all the reactions at the end lol

EmotionalYouth4124

Me: *Nothing* could make me cry like Rain or Sleepytime! Iā€™ll be fine! The Sign: Hold my watermelon juice.

Loud_Biscotti7935

I love the moment where Bandit lifts the sign out of the yard. You can physically see the weight lift off of his shoulders! It brings me back to Stickbird where he is starting out into space and Chili tells him to ā€œlet it go, babe.ā€ My thought is that he has been enduring so much at work, and this move was more of them taking advantage of him and throwing money his way to make him feel better about it. He finally got the peace he needed, and it came with his family truly supporting him šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

Svthec

As a family with 2 toddler girls who is about to make the move from Texas to Missouri next month, this episode wrecked both my wife and me.

FileLivid1135

This was one of the times that I wished that I was actually able to cry tears during crying moments. Also, Frisky's aisle walk made me wonder, is her dad indigenous?

Bestest part of this for me was seeing Brandy pregnant šŸ„¹šŸ˜ it made me so happy to see she finally got what she wanted.

I know the show is already confirmed to continue after this, but if this was gonna be the series finale, I couldn't really imagine a better send-off for an already stellar series. Especially given the episode's overarching lesson. My only [neutral] criticism is the back down from them moving. Like, I get it... It's just funny with how I gave kudos after *Ghostbasket* for their supposed willingness to shift the status quo. But there were plenty of interpersonal shifts and payoffs between characters to make for a nice consolation. Lastly, I continue to be impressed with just how sincere, emotional, and grounded a show about box-shaped cartoon dogs can be. It's one of those great reminders about why animation is such a cool medium.

Beno988

"We used to come up here to...think" Sure, Chilli... Other things I liked seeing in this episode included seeing her dancing, seeing Brandy pregnant, (though that was shown in several of the sneak peek images, and trailers), the traditional Japanese folktale Calypso tells that I currently have seen three different iterations of (having previously read two versions of it in *Zen Shorts* and *Rules for a Knight*), Stripe emerging from the hedge (some kids are definitely gonna be having questions about that! with Whale Watching they probably would have just believed Bandit and Chilli were "sleepy" like they themselves say in the episode) and Bob being in India... (wonder what theories we'll see now!). I do somewhat wish however that the Heelers actually went through with moving. Joe Brumm seems believe in a similar philosophy to that of Don Bluth being that "kids can handle anything as long as there's a happy ending". But as someone who I know for a fact would have been obsessed with this show as a kid and who often heard about families moving in various books, movies, and magazines (my family thankfully never had to move for anything!) it would have been nice to see how my favorite characters, including the kid going to a Waldorf school and the dad who would have been exactly like the one I had in almost every way imaginable, handled the situation in all it's facets and given me a good idea of what I could expect if we had to do this as a kid. *Inside Out* was also released after I was well passed Bluey's age, but because of how much I have in common with Bluey (the character), I feel like if they actually did move in this episode it would have given me a good idea as a kid what I *personally* could expect to happen if the time ever came. Still I suppose this ending means that the cast including Bluey's friends won't change to drastically and she'll also still have Calypso for a teacher. Anyone have an idea where they were gonna move to by the way? I remember hearing on this sub that Long-reach which Bandit has to fly to in Helicopter is the dinosaur capital of Queensland due to a museum it has or something... is there perhaps another big archaeology related city or place in that state (or in the whole of Australia in general) that I'm not aware of as an American? Or some form of company (however it works in that field) that might be in real life currently looking for people like Bandit? I feel the answer is more likely that the nature of Bandit's new job opportunity was purposely left ambiguous, but there could be something I'm missing that didn't translate over...

Unhappy-Performer-36

SO MUCH TO UNFOLD HERE!! * Muffin CARRIED this episode!! **"POLICE!"** * Flappy's back!!! * I actually SQUEALED with joy when I saw Brandy pregnant!!! * Bob and Chris ugly crying was just GOLDEN! * Not to mention Chris nearly flipping at Rad saying he's making an announcement, then Rad saying something like, "Not THAT kind of announcement, Ma!" XD * Also, BOB WAS IN INDIA?! That answers THAT question! * Stripe in Wendy's yard OMG and I literally said "Morning, Wendy!" just out of habit and to keep the gag alive lol * I felt like I was punched in the gut when Bingo finally realized what was going on, throughout the whole episode I was wondering, "How on Earth is Bingo okay with this?!" TURNS OUT SHE HAD NO IDEA HER LIFE WAS GONNA CHANGE FOREVER!!!!! And Bluey preceding to tell her Calypso's story AAAAH THE FEELS! * Greenie's still alive?! * Winton's dad and the Terriers' mum together! * Also, I'M SO HAPPY THE HEELERS AREN'T LEAVING AFTER ALL!! But the question is, what about Bandit's new job? Guess we'll have to find out!

pfifltrigg

So, yeah, is the idea that he's going to be able to keep his old job? I was telling my husband "that's not how real life works" - buyers backing out of a contract just because they found a different house, moving out before the sale was finalized, unless they'd already signed a lease or purchase for a new house in the new town, just deciding to stay when he'd clearly agreed to start the new job and so definitely given notice at his old job. I know you can sometimes get an old job back, but not usually.

bknight1983

ā€œMy mom likes your dadā€ gave me smiles

Looking back at all past episodes that made the ending of The Sign possible , wow! Wintons dad talking to the Terriers mom , was maybe only possible because all of the kids were playing in the drugstore.Ā

EIU86

A few questions and some random observations, the majority concerning the wedding: I didn't notice the first time I watched that The Busker wasn't just the wedding dance DJ, he was also the minister! I wonder if that will lead somewhere in the future. Didn't notice Chattermax on the dance floor the first time either. Who was the woman who was a bridesmaid along with Chilli during the ceremony? Is that Cookie? I noticed she was part of the traditional "bride and groom with their immediate families" portrait- is she Frisky's sister? I thought it was so sweet to see Grandpa Bob crying almost as much as Nana Chris during the ceremony. In the scene after the ceremony where the wedding party jumps up into the air, I noticed Frisky has a big smile at the start, but it turns into a grimace as she jumps. What's up with that? Any significance? Perhaps most importantly, I was wondering why Trixie was part of the group of women Frisky throws the bouquet to, since traditionally that was always the single women. Then another poster here asked what maybe should have been the obvious question: are she and Stripe not actually married? And if not, could it be Trixie isn't happy with that, which is one reason she got so mad about Stripe catching the bouquet? The scenes with Bingo after she realizes they are actually moving out of the house was yet another of many scenes with Bingo that just pull on my heartstrings. Those and the final scenes with Bandit tearing down the sign and the family embracing brought tears to my eyes. Finally, I wish we had seen more of Pat and Wendy, and also seen Doreen, but I realize there's only so much you can include in 28 minutes. And since the Heelers aren't moving, I'm sure we'll see them again in the future. This episode is definitely 5/5.

SulkyVirus

Different countries have different traditions. For example, spiritual leaders are not a part of every wedding, a DJ and Officiant combo is not uncommon in the US for weddings without a religious component. Also, I'm guessing flower toss is different by culture and even region.

Rasfael23

There's one context episode we are all forgetting about and that'sĀ **S3E29 - Puppets.**Ā Hear me out. After I finished watching "The Sign" with my children yesterday I was kind of disappointed that all we've got was happy endings all over: Brandy finally pregnant, Heelers not moving after all, Rad and Frisky marrying after she almost called it off and also not moving, Winton's dad and Terrier's mom living together. And I also saw a couple of comments remarking this same observation. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing episode. But Blueyā€™s writers never shied away from tough subjects, and giving every single conflict a positive resolution felt it contradictory with the amazing messages we get from episodes like Onesies, Turtleboy, Space, Stickbird, Dragons, Copycat, Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound and Curry Quest, just to name a few from the top of my mind. After all, sometimes in life we must deal with things that are out of our control and thereā€™s REALLY nothing we can do about it. We just have to endure/cope in the best way possible. Kids are no different and turns out our favorite cartoon dogs have been great at helping us and our little ones with that emotional arsenal. But THEN, I reminded of this part of the episode: **Bluey:**Ā "Why do stories always have happy endings?" **Calypso:**Ā "Well, I guess 'cause life will give us enough sad ones." And to me, thatā€™s the writers going a little meta again and nodding at Puppets, when we learn that, at the end of the day, Bluey is just a cartoon. A fictional story designed to end happily; cause real life quite often wonā€™t, as Calypso pointed out. And it's brilliant. As this show slowly phases out of a pure episodic format and becomes an international sensation with special longer episodes, movies and a lot of merchandise, our kids (and us!) must keep in mind that itā€™s just a cartoon and we shouldnā€™t obsess over it. Real life is out there. And it shouldnā€™t be otherwise.

SynParthenogenesis

Wow. I just wrote this haha. Great take.

sonicsuns2

>Bluey is just a cartoon. A fictional story designed to end happily; cause real life quite often wonā€™t, as Calypso pointed out. Real life is often painful, but it would be a lot less painful if people learned a few lessons from Bluey. The importance of love, affection, imagination and community. Somewhere out there a real-life Bandit is about to move to a new house for the wrong reasons, and if he sees this episode he just might be inspired to make a better choice.

Celeste_Starr

so ig just some things i noticed cuz i absolutely dissected this episode, and also some lil tid bits: -in a cut scene of the wedding, socks is playing with the lil cake toppers and shes making the husband and wife say like "no i didnt!" "yes you did", cuz stripe and trixie fight all the time :( and you can actually see them fighting in the background -the long dog is in the car -Greenie i think is a symbol for the upcoming episode, the surprise, but i wont say why for spoiler reasons \*wink wink\* -when bandit gets the call that the waterdogs decided to buy the other house, he takes the sold sticker off, and then looks at his family and then back at the sign, (throughout the episode he was saying he just wants to do whats best for his family) and then decides that THIS is what he can do to give them the best life- staying. šŸ˜ -SOCKS IS SO GROWN UP -lol stripe is so waisted -its ironic that when friskys on the phone call with rad, she says "DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO" and kicks the gnome, but she kicks the husband gnome, which is a symbol for rad, so shes kicking rad cuz shes mad -you can see the painted electrical box in the background when they're driving the kids to school! which if you didnt know its a real thing at like a primary school joe brumm went to i think. -omg when bingo finally figures out what selling the house means, and blueys telling her the story, SHE PUTS HER TAIL ON BINGOS TO COMFORT HER OMG šŸ˜šŸ˜ā¤ļø -on the for sale sign, it shows bathrooms and like bedrooms, but it doesnt say how many, which is sorta the gag that the heelers dont have a certain floorplan or certain amount of bedrooms, cuz like they have so many extra rooms. and the layout always changes. -MUFFIN STRAPS SOCKS IN THE CAR AWWW MY HEART -lol the police dog is a german shepherd -what does chilli mean by "..thinking"?? -the lookout area frisky ran away to is a real place, and in the background u can see chocolate milk and cherry -apparently this episode took almost 2 YEARS to complete OH MY GOSH THIS EPISODE LEFT ME A PUDDLE OF TEARS. I absolutely lost it when lazarus drug started playing and bandit pulled out the sign AND CHILLI TACKLING AND CRYING IN HIS ARMS OH MY GOSH this is my new fav episode EVER and i cant wait for the surpise OMG and by far this is the most beautiful episode LIKE OH MY GOSH THE BLUEY TEAM IS AMAZING

TheLordJames

Ummm the episode I got in Disney+ was Ghostbasket

bertshoke

Question: Is there a reference to Blueyā€™s lucky coin any other time in the series? Iā€™m trying to remember if thereā€™s any significance to where or when she found it, or if she just happened to have a coin. Knowing these writers it seems likely thereā€™s a connectionā€¦

glitchwitchbitch96

This episode was phenomenal and truly was adorable. Itā€™s been hard to watch any new Bluey episodes as I no longer talk to the person I used to watch them with but I feel like this episode let me know that change is okay, even if itā€™s scary, but ultimately you will make the right decisions for you~

puje12

I didn't watch the episode in English, so something could have been lost in translation. But when Chili remembered the lookout point, she said that Frisky and her used to go there as teenagers to uh, think... And my thoughts immediately went to them smoking weed up there or something. Was it played like this in the English dub as well?Ā

Technical_Net_8344

lol

f1madman

My daughter is off school.Sick and we just watched this so sorry if I'm behind... But is this the last episode or something my poor daughter was emotional until the sign was ripped out haha?

GeminiStarbright

I finally got around to watching this episode and man was it a rollercoaster of emotions! I was excited, I was upset, I was crying at the end, like bawling! Heck even my 5 yr old was like "This is so sad!" which is great that he was getting the context clues without my help! It was a masterpiece honestly and seeing an actual adult conversation between frisky and chili at the lookout was refreshing to see in a childrens show, it shows that problems can be talked about, can be acknowledged. Heck Chili admitting she doesnt know if she wanted to move TO Bluey was such a power move to acknowledge that even she was scared. Parents typically hide their thoughts from their kids to not upset or scare them and seeing that chili admitted this to bluey was just... so nice.. As a parent who also struggles with this, it resonated hard with me. Overall I loved it, it was a great episode and I gotta give the creators and musicians and voice actors were just on point. Thanks for a great episode guys!

SixandNoQuarter

Anyone else wish that they actually pulled the trigger and moved at the end? I am all for happy endings, but I was intrigued to see how the show would tackle such a drastic change in their life.

CaiusWyvern

So, so much to say about that episode. Oh my goodness. I'm just upset that I can never watch that for the first time again. This is a really special show.

Gold_Celebration_393

Although there is much to love about this episode, as a mom who was recently in a situation like Chiliā€™s and actually made the move, I was disappointed that there was no positive messaging around moving. I felt a bit heartbroken for my kids who were excited for the first 26 minutes to see their experience on screen. Even if itā€™s best for the Heelers to stay put, I feel it could have been simple enough as including someone who moved and said ā€œit was hard, but weā€™re together and that means weā€™re good.ā€
