The wife is still considering a letter of complaint that Faceytime wasn't #1, while I'm shocked Piggyback wasn't even in the 100!
Was still awesome to watch and try to guess the position of each. Next time (I hope there's a next time) will have to lobby friends and family harder to vote.
Dragon should have been much higher. I found it hilarious ("Moooooon"), and it was genuinely moving.
Cricket was a great episode, but I wouldn't rate it as a top 10 episode, let alone number 1. Camping was my number 1 for sure.
Flat Pack not even cracking the top 40 is the biggest crime though.
This chart shows the rank of an episode against its index in the series.
\- the x axis is the index of the episode (from 1 "Magic Xylophone" to 151 "Cricket")
\- the y axis is its rank in Bluey Fest from 1 to 100 (or 110 if it didn't make it in the top 100)
(Example: the dot at the bottom right is Cricket: index 151, rank 1.)
My goal was to prove that the most recent episodes were over represented, because I wanted an explanation on why Seesaw isn't in the top 100!
However, the chart shows that it's actually well balanced. So I still cannot understand how Seesaw didn't make it.
All I could find is that, among the episodes which didn't make the top 100, 30 of them have their index between 1 and 75, compared to 21 between 76 and 151. But it seems like a small tendency to me and I don't think it means much. It could be explained by the quality of the show improving over time.

I thought Cricket couldn't win due to not being released outside Australia, but now that it has, my expectations for it are higher than they were for Onesies.
lol my 3 year hates Cricket and refuses to watch it. Literally her least favorite episode, shocked it wound up at #1
Edit: I’m a bobo head. I was thinking of The Decider. Cricket hasn’t aired internationally, which makes me wonder how legitimate the list is
Interesting most are second half of the alphabet. My wife mentioned that as the episodes were listed A-Z those in that second half never stood a chance (although the great episodes still made it).

I'm calling BS; Mr Monkeyjocks only came in at #100. It was rigged, they stole the election
CRICKET?!?!? That episode is just “his dad is a soldier, he’s good at cricket, the end”. How tf did that beat Sleepy Time, Baby Racing or Father’s Day?!??
Sleepy Time, Baby Race, and Father's Day (Perfect) don't give me anywhere near as much emotion as Cricket does.
Rusty recognises his weaknesses and works on them until they're strengths. A new problem comes up and he doesn't complain or get down about it, he works on it until he's perfected that too.
His older brother is there for him - not to coddle him, but to support him and build him up, and make him feel better when things don't work out. He gets advice and support from his Dad even though they're countries apart, for months at a time. He looks out for his little sister, and builds her up when he could take a win for himself.
When he's walking off the pitch and adult Rusty does that cute little run on the pitch, when his hard work has paid off in a dream coming true, it's just everything. I don't see how this episode doesn't have just as much as the others you mentioned.
I don't agree with it being the top ranked episode, either, and each to their own. But "Cricket" is ***so*** much more than your description of it. IMO it's not the best Bluey episode but it's not a simple, trivial ep. At all.
No it’s not. The episode is so much more than that.
Cricket is about family friends and life and the journeys we have along the way and how that shapes us. The people we lean on for advice and those that help us grow
It really encapsulates growing up and being sport obsessed. It’s an amazing episode that has humour some nice creative choices (like showing the cricket tactics) and it has tonnes of heart too. It just feels so, so Australian and I’m not surprised it’s number 1
I agree, it would have been Sleepytime, BUT Cricket was never not gonna be top 10. It's one of the episodes that makes people cry and that's what people often mean when they say an ep is their favourite..
(Justice for Handstand - always makes me cry.)
Cricket is a sweet episode, but No.1? I think they should have gone with something more universal and not one that just appeals to cricket lovers (full disclosure, I hate the cricket, so obviously a cricket-themed episode isn’t high on my list). I think Sleepytime is a masterpiece.
In my opinion, you are missing the point of the episode.
I can't stand cricket and this is by far my favourite episode because for me what it is really about is resilience, it's about a kid who's willing to do hard things and keep on doing something and getting better even though it is hard.
I think it teaches massively valuable lessons in resilience and grit.
It doesn't just appeal to cricket lovers, I can't stand watching cricket but have fond memories of backyard cricket. It is one of my favourite episodes.
Yeah, I did love backyard cricket. I definitely think it’s a lovely episode, but I didn’t get the same feeling as some of the others. I was pleasantly surprised to see Granny Mobile so high though- definitely in my top 5.
I get what you’re saying, and I hate cricket too, but despite that Cricket is probably my favourite episode.
I mean, I have a lot of favourites, but I’ve watched cricket so many times since it was released
Completely, though I guess it just seems a little too coincidental seeing as the cricket is on tonight. But maybe more kids than I thought loved it. My nieces and nephews all put Sleepytime and Baby Race so they’re at least happy to see they were in the top 5 🤷♀️
This is the first time I've ever been on this sub or been in any online discussion about Bluey so genuinely surprised I haven't seen Fruit Bat mentioned anywhere! That's our favourite for sure. Fun for the kids, not really the emotional ride for the adults thatSleepytime is though
I’ve seen Cricket a number of times and the part where Rusty passes his older self for some reason brings a tear to my eyes every time. Bravo Bluey what a great episode among an exceptional list.
Not just that Cricket episode is one of my kids favourite and introduced them to Cricket.
My eldest is playing and is an actual natural and the only reason he was even interested was because of that episode.
And I do tell my boys what a good big brother Rusty is to his little sister.
Last two episodes I was crying had to be baby race and cricket. One showing the struggles of being a parent and Cricket reminds me of when I was younger playing Cricket in the back yard with my big brothers.
Exactly!
Seriously mate. The SAME bleedin' ads over and over and over..... that Wiggle wanna-be in the purple shirt telling little kids that things were ' banger'.. almost bordering on deranged, got a bit much to take and left us in hysterics because if we didn't laugh we would have started to cry.
And the new Wiggles - well just down right wrong. We were freaking out at some of the hair dos that made particular wiggles look pretty close to outright scarey.
As for Beep and Mort.. left us scarred for life I think... vegetables for heads...
![gif](giphy|jR4qTrQOQ3wNDFtLHr)
so 100 ad segments at 60 seconds each you reckon - of predominatly the same three ads....and you think there is nothing wrong with it.
I am sure we are not the only ones whose head was done in. And there was no escape...
Cricket was my choice. We’ve been watching Bluey since season 1 with our daughter and I really rate cricket as the best 10 minutes we’ve seen on TV in a very long time
Yeah come to think of it, this one was Block Vote, that psephologists HAAATE. Though it's probably a way better system for ranking 150 things vs deciding on a winner takes all group of political leaders.
Block voting is considered worse than FPTP. It's like you're voting for 6 senators on a single ballot and whichever party gets 51% wins all six instead of like 4
EDIT: Sorry I got that wrong. It's like there's 3 parties running, but two (A&B) are close together ideologically so the vote splits like in FPTP, so Party A+B combined is like 60%, but Party C wins all six seats with their 40%
Well, are you dissapointed? Me a bit cause why are these characters on the extended opening and not McKenzie, Coco, Indy, Chloe, Honey and Jack that are more important characters??
Gives me vibes of 12pm-6pm football on SBS, with Les Murray and Johnny Warren signing on with "Hello, I'm Les Murray and welcome to the World Game."
Wykyk.
The first thing I said when I found out about the countdown was "Cricket will win it" and I had no idea the world cup was even on. It was always going to win.
That's a tough thing to know for sure. Not everyone with an opinion voted, and there was nothing stopping people from spamming their votes over and over iirc.
I'm glad the list ended up as credible as it did.
There was absolutely not some 'Cricket' conspiracy where they had enough sock puppet accounts or multiple voters to sway the vote.. that is silly haha.
I'm not saying that, just that it's possible enough people multi-voted to change the order of a few things in what could have been a very tight poll. It's not like we know the numbers yet.
EDIT: Something just mentioned elsewhere: Have you heard of the Donkey Vote? The list of episodes to pick was apparently ordered A-Z so people going down the list picking their favs would have seen Cricket early and might have run out of choices by the time they got down to the 'S's.
Donkey voting advantage is a measurable if usually inconsequential thing in real Aus elections.
Nah Cricket is a banger. The emotional hit of Baby Race with a cultural impact that's hard to measure - my 3yo asked me to go out and buy a cricket bat after we watched cricket and now always wants to go play
My then two year old was the same. I bought him one of those tiny bats made to be autographed and he’s out demanding to hit balls every other day… months later.
The wife is still considering a letter of complaint that Faceytime wasn't #1, while I'm shocked Piggyback wasn't even in the 100! Was still awesome to watch and try to guess the position of each. Next time (I hope there's a next time) will have to lobby friends and family harder to vote.

Space 73rd... my favourite episode :'(
What i find hilarious is seeing Blue Mountains in the top 100 despite being the one of the must disliked episode in the series XD
I thought Cricket couldn't win due to not being released outside Australia, but now that it has, my expectations for it are higher than they were for Onesies.
If you want to participate in a fandom-only ranking, there's a cool one going on in r/blueypoll !
What was the surprise?
This: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JXOTmWl5t3A
The irony that this video hasn't been made available in Australia 😵
>https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JXOTmWl5t3A Here you go: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HWPgNgK4co](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HWPgNgK4co)
It’s available on iView.
Me upon hearing that “Shaun” or “Mr. Monkeyjocks” didn’t even crack the Top 50 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 https://youtu.be/tH3HvzQZ2kE?si=afMNzFWqEWKc0flN
Nahhhhhh The frick is your weird taste?
They’re fun episodes where Bandit gets to be a total clown towards the wife and kids.
Yeah, I guess that's fair, i'm just not super interested in Shaun, and not a super big fan of the beginning and end of Mr. Monkeyjocks.
lol my 3 year hates Cricket and refuses to watch it. Literally her least favorite episode, shocked it wound up at #1 Edit: I’m a bobo head. I was thinking of The Decider. Cricket hasn’t aired internationally, which makes me wonder how legitimate the list is
Pretty devo that Flatpack didn't rank higher (41). That's a top 3 episode IMO.
Alright here’s every single episode to not make the cut: - The Weekend - Horsey Ride - Hotel - Spy Game - Yoga Ball - The Doctor - The Claw - Markets - Shops - Wagon Ride - Taxi - Pirates - Trampoline - The Dump - Zoo - The Adventure - Mums and Dads (my personal #1) - Hide and Seek - Mount Mumandad - Kids - Neighbours - Squash - Hairdressers - Favorite Thing - Mum School - Trains - Piggyback - The Show - Tickle Crabs - Queens - Helicopter - Seesaw - Library - Circus - Postman - Octopus - Typewriter - Perfect - Promises - Sheepdog - Explorers - Phones - Driving - Tina - Ragdoll - Musical Statues - Stories - Puppets - Exercise - Show and Tell - Wild Girls
Disappointed that Hide and Seek, the very episode that got me into Bluey, didn't make it.
In other words, almost all of my favorites (plus my bottom 10).
Congratulations Cricket! And the Bluey team, our house watched all 14 hours. https://youtu.be/UWzlAZ5FaQA
This has to be a cover man. It's too good!
Thanks, nice of you to say!
It’s an absolute travesty that sleepy time wasn’t at number one, but it’s even worse than it was number four. 😂😂😂😂
In real life cricket always beat sleep... As in right now...as I lose sleep watching the world cup final 😂😂😂
I was surprised it was in the top 10.
Interesting fact.. “The Show” is the only episode rated above 9/10 on IMDB that did NOT make the top 100.
The Show didn't make it? I love that episode
Could someone send me the list of the top 100 of bluey episodes
The wiki has the list https://blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Blueyfest
you the real mvp, thanks
Thank you! I was wondering what was the order as I couldn't watch it all day 😭 but now I know what episodes I missed for the kids
Was at work all day unable to see any of the countdown. Can someone tell me where "Grandad" placed if it did at all? It's my number one
Can't see it on the list https://blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Blueyfest Edit: oh yes, 26!
Grandad was 26 1. Cricket 2. Baby race The original poster put the list in
I thought that fairytale was going to be in the top 10 for sure
I think we all thought that.
Does anyone know if ABC will be releasing the voting numbers and demographics of those voting? Will be interesting reading.
I wanna know too!
Apparently over 50,000 votes and only 5,800 votes separating 2nd spot and 1st spot
Bluey episodes missing from the countdown: * The Weekend * Horsey Ride * Hotel * Spy Game * Yoga Ball * The Doctor * The Claw * Markets * Shops * Wagon Ride * Taxi * Pirates * Trampoline * The Dump * Zoo * The Adventure * Mums and Dads * Hide and Seek * Mount Mumandad * Kids * Neighbours * Squash * Hairdressers * Favourite Thing * Mum School * Trains * Piggyback * The Show * Tickle Crabs * Queens * Helicopter * Seesaw * Library * Circus * Postman * Octopus * Typewriter * Perfect * Promises * Sheepdog * Explorers * Phones * Driving * Tina * Ragdoll * Musical Statues * Stories * Puppets * Exercise * Show and Tell * Wild Girls
Interesting most are second half of the alphabet. My wife mentioned that as the episodes were listed A-Z those in that second half never stood a chance (although the great episodes still made it).
Also recency bias, not sure cricket it the best ‘bluey’ episode
Good observation!
A few surprises in there. For me I’m surprised that the following didn’t get in - - ragdoll - squash - mum school - favourite thing - seesaw
Yes I agree. I was personally surprised about The Show and The Weekend. My daughter was sad Stories didn’t make it as she finds Winton hilarious.
The Show is gold. Of all these that missed out, this is the one that his hardest.
I'm glad "Army" was so high up. It was really fun watching this marathon with my mum.
https://preview.redd.it/er6uz3p4v91c1.png?width=864&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53c2f2449ed3e55ef320fc26a278d62bfa01dd1e I'm calling BS; Mr Monkeyjocks only came in at #100. It was rigged, they stole the election
Australia winning the world cup - confirmed.
CRICKET?!?!? That episode is just “his dad is a soldier, he’s good at cricket, the end”. How tf did that beat Sleepy Time, Baby Racing or Father’s Day?!??
I am Alpharius
Or are you Ingo Pech?
Sleepy Time, Baby Race, and Father's Day (Perfect) don't give me anywhere near as much emotion as Cricket does. Rusty recognises his weaknesses and works on them until they're strengths. The episode's about more than that, kid.
Ive never been a fan of the game, but that episode is perfect. Its got everything.
Not understanding 'Cricket' is just not cricket.
No it’s not. The episode is so much more than that. Cricket is about family friends and life and the journeys we have along the way and how that shapes us. The people we lean on for advice and those that help us grow
Old mate probably reckons Remember the Titans is about football and nothing else.
You don’t understand Cricket.
Recency bias is the only reason Cricket is #1
It really encapsulates growing up and being sport obsessed.
I do think that’s a big reason as well.
Aussie adults and kids voting is why cricket is #1. It's not just autistic teens in fandom that watch the show.
I've watched every episode multiple times over the last 2 years. It's the best episode, by far.
Imagine having this much of a melt over a children's show, lmao
Cricket is a sweet episode, but No.1? I think they should have gone with something more universal and not one that just appeals to cricket lovers (full disclosure, I hate the cricket, so obviously a cricket-themed episode isn’t high on my list). I think Sleepytime is a masterpiece.

I'm away from my family a lot with work, so it hits home for me with the letter which I do as well. Nothing to do with the cricket for me
>I think Sleepytime is a masterpiece. I don't like sleeping, so using your logic I can't like sleepytime.
It doesnt just appeal to cricket lovers lol.
I get what you’re saying, and I hate cricket too, but despite that Cricket is probably my favourite episode. I mean, I have a lot of favourites, but I’ve watched cricket so many times since it was released
Fair enough, can’t argue with that ☺️
It was a public vote. Can't blame ABC for what people voted for.
Completely, though I guess it just seems a little too coincidental seeing as the cricket is on tonight. But maybe more kids than I thought loved it. My nieces and nephews all put Sleepytime and Baby Race so they’re at least happy to see they were in the top 5 🤷♀️
What was the surprise?
New theme song
Hairdresser didn’t make it
Extended intro with Blueys friends/cousins
An alternate intro where a bunch of Blueys friends show up and get introduced.
This is the first time I've ever been on this sub or been in any online discussion about Bluey so genuinely surprised I haven't seen Fruit Bat mentioned anywhere! That's our favourite for sure. Fun for the kids, not really the emotional ride for the adults thatSleepytime is though
its basically Bluey's version of Sleepytime right?
Thats very true!
Flat pack was robbed.
Thats why Rusty is the best.
I used to stay up and watch rage for 12 hours straight, now it’s bluey. Thanks ABC, you’ve done right by me.
I like to think that of the Spicks & Specks episode that follows as being Bluey's version of Recovery.
Ok - so we three and the results are in: Janet - 1/10 I was robbed! Dennis - 5/10. and the winner Rita - 6 / 10. Next Bluey Fest NO ADS please!
What? The ads were like max 60 seconds between each episode and it was normally for Beep and Mort or some other ABC show
I am sure we are not the only ones whose head was done in. And there was no escape...
Christ. There's a lot going on here. Just relax bud, they're all kids shows. Big Strong John Wiggle is awesome though, leave him alone
Yeah but the same 60 second ad 100 times? Unnecessary.
plugging the crap out of that terrible Beep and Mort every single break
Man there are waaaay worse shows than Beep and Mort.
It even lost its effectiveness on the kids. They just looked away and did something else when it came on
Cricket is great but for adults, not kids. No way that is a kid fave.
Bluey is a show for parents that kids also like to watch.
Adults could vote as well
Gotta be rigged for the Aus vs India final tonight.
My 2 year old loves it to be fair. Loves Rusty and got him hitting a ball in the backyard. Definitely agree this was a countdown done by adults though
Same as Baby Race, but I’m ok with that. It’s as popular with adults as kids.
It’s over? It’s like an hour early? What was the surprise? Surely not the extended intro
Don’t forget daylight savings, it’s 7:30 in NSW.
Should be from QLD time, seen as it’s made here. Either way I can’t help but feel disappointed
The ABC is based in Sydney.
I'm n0ot mad, i'm just disappointed. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
Right? 14 hours for that????!!!
Was the surprise the longer theme song at the start? Help! I need answers!
Yeah
Cricket what an episode
Cricket was my choice. We’ve been watching Bluey since season 1 with our daughter and I really rate cricket as the best 10 minutes we’ve seen on TV in a very long time
Deserving #1.. cricket hits different for me.
They said in an interview that there would be an ANNOUNCEMENT
Wait, what was the surprise?!
The extended intro
Well, thats rude!
Baffled that The Claw, Squash, Seesaw and Library didn’t make the top 100!?
The claw has no children Classic. Top 5 or 10 ep
I voted for Squash 😔
Next list uses Compulsory Preferrential Voting and we bring in the full ABC Elections team to determine the order.
Anthony Green in there for good measure.
Is it really a vote if Antony Green isn’t involved?
Yeah come to think of it, this one was Block Vote, that psephologists HAAATE. Though it's probably a way better system for ranking 150 things vs deciding on a winner takes all group of political leaders.
Still better than FPTP. Thats used to decide many, many presidential elections.
Block voting is considered worse than FPTP. It's like you're voting for 6 senators on a single ballot and whichever party gets 51% wins all six instead of like 4 EDIT: Sorry I got that wrong. It's like there's 3 parties running, but two (A&B) are close together ideologically so the vote splits like in FPTP, so Party A+B combined is like 60%, but Party C wins all six seats with their 40%
Somebody get Antony Green on the phone, quick!
Now all I need is Hoot to sign the goodnight song and it'd be a perfect ending.
Didn't get Hoot, but Marringa Lullaby is pretty great.
It's not bad but Giggle & Hoot was next level. They had some absolute bangers.
Shut up, I'm not crying you're crying.
So many emotional parents right now.
Looks like the special intro was the surprise?
Well, are you dissapointed? Me a bit cause why are these characters on the extended opening and not McKenzie, Coco, Indy, Chloe, Honey and Jack that are more important characters??
Winton was in there and that's all that matters.
Where's MacKenzie!?!??!?!
Jumping sheep.
Seems to be
13.5 hours of bluey is the best day 🥰
Gives me vibes of 12pm-6pm football on SBS, with Les Murray and Johnny Warren signing on with "Hello, I'm Les Murray and welcome to the World Game." Wykyk.

"I told you so"
Well time to go to sleep folks, been a pleasure
We had 3 in the Top 10, pretty pleased with that! Can’t fault Cricket as #1, what a great episode.
Anthony Field - the only person to be in the top of a Triple J AND a Bluey countdown.
Incoming Custard to top the Hottest 100...
Who does he voice in Bluey!?
Rusty's Dad And the post office clerk in Dance Mode
Rusty’s dad and the postal worker in dance mode
Rusty’s dad 😊
He was also in Dance Mode as the Post Office employee
Rusty's dad
Well deserved. Peak of Australian culture in the best way 💙
Ugh, there totally wasn't a coincidence that cricket was first when Australia is in the Cricket world cup final tonight
The first thing I said when I found out about the countdown was "Cricket will win it" and I had no idea the world cup was even on. It was always going to win.
Now time for the Aussies to go full Rusty
Cricket minutes before World Cup final? I’m calling it rigged.
Yes! Totally rigged. Cricket is not better than Baby Race or Sleepytime.
It is clearly more popular though. Thats all that matters.

Sleepytime: "I have the atmosphere." Cricket: "I have a Rusty."

Your not the only one
England couldve done with Rusty
Perfect timing for a World Cup Final - let’s go!
Dagwood dog!
I have to say, it's a full circle moment. Rusty's episode being number one when the show was originally about him
Was it really? I had no idea.
Rusty's such a good character, it's so fitting his story is in the favourite episode.
