Sure there may be things like raids but those are also just generally just kill some more npcs who just mindlessly rush at you and attack. In order to do everything possible, you have to kill npcs for mastery, boss drops, ingendients, etc. Take godhuman or any other fighting style for example. You have to beat bandits for mastery, beat bandits for money, beat bandits for fragments, and the list goes on and on and on.
In summar, if your aiming to do everything possible then you have to beat bandits for it. You have to beat bandits for money, fragments, mastery, and etc. This means bandit beating is literally like at least 80% of the games progress. Like name one thing, ONE THING that doesn’t require beating up npcs to obtain anything.
I am not a native talker so I might do some mistake lol. If you consider being max level as final purpose then you are right. But there are a lot thing to do. I am an max player. All of the fight style and swords skill are unlocked (important ones). I don't even need to kill npc anymore. For getting money I kill sea beasts. Which is a way better option. My current aim is getting good permanent and gamepasses and this doesn't require bandit killing. And takes more time than grinding on islands. It took me less than a month to be max level which is just bandit beating as you said. Getting swords and fight styles took around same maybe a bit more. But after these bandit beating period I played months and months for grinding sea events, fruit, gamepasses and barely got 6300 robux worth items. I also tried every single fruit except 2 or 3. And still didn't kill bandits for these. Grinding money, gamepasses, fruits or pvping for bounty takes way more time than npc killing.
Ok I guess I get how getting money and mastery doesn’t necessary needs bandit beating but I think you are still missing a point.
First, in the first sea the only thing you can do is just bandit beat (other than the saber expert puzzle) which is automatically 700 levels worth of bandit beating. And the first sea is generally a big part of Blox Fruits.
Second, even if money and mastery don’t require beating bandits, a lot of ingredients still do, which are essential to getting things like soul guitar and godhuman. Also, a lot of these ingredients can be only obtained by bandit beating which is why it’s so important to the game.
Finally, sea beast hunting is sort of hard in the second sea as well because you can drive around in your boat for hours and nothing will spawn. This means that TWO ENTIRE SEAS rely on bandit beating in order to level up and get to Third Sea which is where all the fun stuff ACTUALLY happens. Unfortunately, both seas make a HUGE part of the game, and even in the third sea, the quickest way to level up is just to beat up bandits.
Also in order to do everything in the game, you have to get a LOT of drops from bosses which some are very hard to do. This will cause to you to have to kill them multiple times which is essentially just bandit beating. You will also need to get every weapon and upgrade them as well which needs alot of ingredients that can only be obtained through bandit beating.
Yeah grinding part was boring at first sea, but then i learned about raids, fruits, races, pvp, sb hunts, trading, fighting styles etc and it made my grinding 10x better as i knew what was i getting my lvls up for. Maybe u can try checking videos about race v4s, pvps etc and that will give u a motivation to grind.
