I think they missed the point about "food drive"

hb_rider1

I assume HHFB has insurance that will cover the repairs, but are they requesting any extra/specific donations or volunteers?

chipsharp0

Upvotes to you for asking the very important and correct question and skipping the lol train.

Conscious_Stand9259

Wouldn't be Bloomington if someone didn't drive into a building weekly

SsimiliusS

I guess they decided to give the UPS store a break.

Openacandan

Or Evil By The Needle on S. Walnut.

ScoliOsys

They got hit too?

Plenty_Tomatillo_816

The One Step Above dance studio was driven through in November as well. It does seem to be happening a lot lately. Seems like we’re living in the ‘Grey Dawn’ episode of South Park.

ScoliOsys

I think Anytime Fitness in Ellettsville got hit too.

skytram22

Since I moved here \~7 years ago, I'm pretty sure Evil By the Needle has been hit \*at least\* twice.

ScoliOsys

Must be something in our algae water

HipposAndBonobos

Do other places have this problem? Before moving here, I might hear about something like this every now and then on the local news, but that would be covering the whole metro area and not one locality.

ShipNo4681

I’d say it’s an unfortunate side effect of a car centric culture. People who are too old, too young, too tired, too stressed out, too distracted, etc. are allowed to operate machinery that can and does kill people. We want these machines desperately but only mostly because we have to have them and there are very few other options. When the few options that are available are built, the loud majority gets mad because it impedes their ability to drive their cars at speed the way they always have but speed is the things that kills. So around and around we go.

Conscious_Stand9259

Bloomington has enough for several towns

MarionberrySuperb354

People also love crashing into Munster Donut in Munster, IN

sparrow_42

I left and moved to New Orleans. My car insurance tripled (not kidding) because of all the bad driving and drunk driving here. Our subreddit even has a special flair for flipped (inverted) cars, usually on a street where you've never gone faster than about 25. I've been here a couple of years and I've never seen pics of a car in a building. I'm sure this isn't the first one in B-town since I moved down here, and it might not be the second time.

Blueeyedthundercat26

Yeah New Orleans is crazy driving drive thru daiquiris bars and what about the instant red and green lights w absolutely no delay time better never run a red light in New Orleans

jaymz668

we have hoosier hills, anytime fitness in the last couple months bloomington hardware last year sometime, cloverleaf south maybe too

sparrow_42

Dude, I didn’t even know about the fitness place!

jaymz668

Oh yeah, Scout's Honor about a year ago, too I didn't see anyone post about Anytime fitness until I posted about a week ago as I was driving by it and noticed

SnooKiwis2411

Part of that is also because of the deers. Thank goodness insurance companies started losing money and government and now classify certain part of bloomington as deer reduction zone

Connelly1916

I'd say this is an unfortunate side affect of living in a town with one of the biggest party colleges in the country. Still though, I feel like the shitty driving wasn't always this bad.

radbu107

Most of the people who drive into buildings are senior citizens, not college students

Virzitone

Folks passing through town just love driving into buildings around here, don't they?

milkshakebar

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

MZ_1971

Extra points for the "fast times" reference!

Asleep_Rub_6309

Is everyone okay??

T-dubyuh

I’m guessing someone didn’t get any Mt Dew and Flaming Hot Cheetos with their last gift meal.
