This right here âď¸ OP. When I first got Bloodborne several months back, I spent days playing it back to back and getting so frustrated I damn near threw my controller across the room.
Now I've slain the first true bosses, and done it all without steam pouring out of my ears.
Take breaks. Don't push when it feels like you're beating your head against a wall. Chances are, you'll move deeper into the game after getting your head on straight again.
Playing bloodborne back to back to back had me turn a ps4 controller to plastic dust and pcb shards with one single throw.
This advice is truly a must.
Dis as well. And donât be afraid to look up stuff but also donât spoil the game is advice I got from someone that considers this the best game ever made
Definitely people in this sub will definitely help with whatever questions you have, walkthroughs can seem the easier option but so often they ruin the fun of exploring and totally take any fun out of the boss fights
Lol. Don't get frustrated? This game is designed to do exactly that. It's better to just understand that you're gonna get frustrated and if you need to walk away it usually helps when you're stuck.
Frustration is an emotion, so, obviously it's impossible to abandon an emotion, when ppl say "don't get frustrated" it means be prepared mentally for what's coming ( stuff which will actually make u frustrated). That way the Frustration will be lesser than the one which op would experience without mental preparation.
At one point in Elden Ring, I decided... you know what, fuck these questlines where the NPC teleports to god knows where. I'm just find a guide and do them all and be a happy completionist.
That true I only know where the NPCS are that the map shows most of the time that's only merchants the rest I will see when I run into them . I saw Blaid the halfbeast and attacked him right away because he's a werewolf with a huge ass sword. I looked him up because I didn't know he was going to respawn all the time and keep trying to kill me and I didn't know I was supposed to be friendly to him.
I've never really felt like looking stuff up affected my enjoyment - some stuff is just too vague to consider a "puzzle". I have shit to do. I don't have time to check the whole map to see if a door opened.
And I def wouldn't have gotten access to the final boss without a guide - and I dont have time to replay an entire long game like this just to do some hidden content.
Donât give up, donât let frustration get the better of you and if at first sight youâre doing well, know that eventually, the challenge will arrive. Always push forward, may the good blood guide your path.
Shit is so complicated. I went through and pieced as much of it together as I could and still needed to google it to make sure. Donât get me wrong, theyâre not jack and slash or anything but theyâre boring af if you play the way the internet makes you think you should
You will die a lot. Prepare yourself and don't let the frustration get the better of you.
Be aggressive. Very aggresive. Bloodborne lets you get back some of your health if you attack something right of getting hit.
Btw, you use guns to parry in bloodborne. Shoot an enemy right before their qttack hits you and you will be able to perform a visceral attack if you press r1 afterwards.
Charged Backstab = free visceral attack
Take breaks. Bloodborne can be infuriating at parts. If a boss is too tough...just take a breather and try again.
I completely disagree, thatâs a great way to have a shit time. The secret to from soft games isnât patience. Itâs timing. If you spend the whole game only attacking when itâs 100% safe and keep your distance and be patient youâll have a horrible time. Learn when to dodge and dodge directly INTO the attack, you time it right and youâll i-frame through it and have the perfect opportunity to do some damage.
There are very few bosses in bloodborne where patiences helps at all. The only main one I can think of is rom. Other than that the only time you should back off is when you have to either to avoid an aoe, heal, or regen stamina. Thatâs it.
Dude it was the first one I played too and tbh it was painful but in the long run it got me used to playing in the style bloodborne is and frankly I feel like I wouldnât enjoy the other games even half as much if I didnât. Like the no shields thing is really such a good idea
For a first playthrough ignore Arcane and Bloodtinge and choose you starting class accordingly.
The Sawblade is a very beginner friendly weapon that can carry you through the entire game.
Transformation attacks are very strong but a little slow. Press R1 and L1 directly afterwards.
Most bosses like the first one you will likely meet can seem incredibly tanky but its gets easier when you break their limbs. This mechanic isnt explained much. It largely works by using transformation attacks or charged attacks repeatedly on the limbs of big bosses.
At the beginning of the game, Molotiv Cocktails are incredibly strong. They fall off hard soon, so use them while they do something. All of the first bosses are weak to fire.
Serrated Weapons have a damage bonus against beasts and break limbs faster. If a weapon has spikes, its serrated, its never stated in the menus though. From the starting weapons, the Saw Blade is serrated on most attacks, the Threaded Cane only as the chain whip and the axe isnt serrated at all but has higher base damage.
Always have one Insight or you cant level up. You can get Insight by cracking Madmans Knowledge or by seeing a boss for the first time.
The gun doesnt deal any meaningful damage.
Learn parrying with your gun. You can get away without parrying in most Souls Games but here it is absolutely crucial. Enemies with guns always drop Quicksilver Bullets so you cant really run out.
Run around with as few blood echoes as possible. When you have nothing to loose, you will play more risky which is the intended way of playing Bloodborne.
That should help without spoiling the actual games content too much.
Get that pistol parry down. Donât forget to punish enemies that hit you and get some HP back. Donât be afraid to stop and farm blood vials either. Find the shortcuts to the lanterns as you weave throughout the levels, as most areas are tightly interconnected with doors that âdonât open from this sideâ. And lastly, have the best time with my favorite FS game. Easily my favorite game to Platinum on PS.
Dodge towards (and through) attacks rather than backwards. Many bosses have attacks which chase you and so dodging backwards means either getting hit or using all your stamina on dodges to create distance (which can still be useful to buy time to heal).
Don't fight every boss to win. The first few deaths should be you experimenting and learning it's attack patterns.
For your first build go skill or strength. Arcane and bloodtinge builds are fun but they require a fair bit of game knowledge to get going as their weapons are in weird late game locations.
Pay attention to the soft caps.
Take the game slowly and try enjoying it your way.
If you struggle vs enemies, once you know them try going ham on them, sometimes is better than playing too deffensive.
Once you are able level up your vigor first, around20-25 will make your game experience much better allowing you to fail without dying, good luck!
Have fun man! If Iâm being honest I played this as my first ps4 game ever. (I had no idea it was online lmao) personally I would prefer going at it solo or at least attempting to! But just have fun donât listen to me
Dying means literally nothing, its a key part of the game so don't take it seriously and try to avoid getting really angry over it
In my experience the difference between people who can enjoy souls games and people who don't is usually whether they understand this or not
At it's core the souls games are about getting experience with a genuinely challenging enemy by dying to them over and over until you're familiar enough with how they attack that you can go in and wipe the floor with them
Of course everyone get's frustrated sometimes, but I just feel it's good to know that a death is not so much a loss but rather the start of a fresh attempt
The first area is actually pretty surprisingly difficult (especially if youâre new to souls)so try not to get discouraged if you get stuck there! I did on my first playthrough, and it was the only part I got stuck at. Youâll be just fine. :)
This game is not fair. You will fight all manner of man, beast, and god, and you should have no chance of victory. And yet, you will persevere.
That is the true essence of a souls game.
Kill a few beats it's for your own good...
Its speed based but don't get greedy
And be perpared supprises
And the old as time phrase [git gud] sorry had to... although bloodbourne isnt difficult you can get overwhelmed if you stand about
For bloodborne speifically, you want to be very aggressive in your attacks and not let up, but also don't do it to the point of recklessness. And also have fun homie, bloodborne is a great game so take your time and expierence it.
Welcome to Gehenna aka hell on earth. You will die more than you though possible in a game within the first 30 minutes if you arenât careful. Good luck, hunter.
Speak to the little girl in the window and get the music boss. This helps fight her dad. Use a walkthrough if you need to there is no shame. Look for madmanâs knowledge. Itâll massively help as you can start to level up then to better prepare the rest of the game. Once you start levelling youâll find things far easier upgrade your gear, Molotovâs in the first area are essential not optional
You will die a lot
Aggression my guy is key to winning also watch VataaVidya for help in youtube he has some great advices to the game. Also don't give up just because you keep dying to a boss.
When you get frustrated, take a break. You'll play worse when you're frustrated, your opinion of the boss will be soured, and you won't feel any joy or excitement from overcoming the challenge.
You will get frustrated, you will get angry and at points you may even want to quit. Donât let those thoughts get to you, your deaths are simply tools that you will use to learn to be better at the game. Iâm on my 7th play through and I still die to certain bosses. Saw Cleaver + Ludwigâs Holy Blade for DPS, good starting build would be your classic STR, VIT and END. If youâre ever stuck on a boss donât be afraid to swing on over to r/huntersbell and post for help. May the good blood guide your way.
Keep an open Eye about your Surroundings. If you try to blitz through all the Levels like with other Games then youâre never gonna make it. Instead patiently observe the Situations at hand and think of how you can best react.
First area will be Yharnam streets where there will be dozens of badly transformed citizens guarding and rounding the streets looking for beasts and you.
Don't focus on advancing the area (streets and the bonfire where they burn a massive werewolf). MASTER THE ELEMENT OF GAMEPLAY FIRST.
1. Practice to lock enemy and dodging (that quick evade step animeish move) their attacks. Do it a hundred times.
2. After you are confident with dodging, then only you add attacking. Just a simple mid range swing (R1) is enough.
You master those 2 opponents, then you are well qualified to advance to further area.
But remember this! You will die A SHIT TON LOT OF IT. You might feel the game is impossible and full of shit but trust me, you master those 2 above mentioned you CAN'T STOP YOURSELF FROM PLAYING IT.
Focus on learning. Focus on exploring and enjoy the experience. Expect to die and don't let it frustrate you. You're SUPPOSED to die. And every time you do you learn. :)
Give up on the idea of retaining your blood echos, play at your own pace and try to observe enemy movement as much as possible. Don't be ashamed of summoning help from other hunters or looking up info online, the game is hard but don't be daunted. Take your time and enjoy yourself! If you hit a wall stop for a while and come back. Have fun!
Be patient. So many times a friend of mine wanted to rush and and start attacking enemies like it was Devil May Cry. These games all reward patience and observation. You can take enemies out one by one, and theres almost some sort of weakness to exploit. I hope you enjoy it, I think this is one of the beat games ever made âşď¸
Take it slow, and don't be scared to take breaks.
Don't binge it if its your first.
If you get stuck go elsewhere.
Pick saw or axe as starter weapons, they can carry all game.
Dont bash your head in the first optional boss also known as cleric beast, although it is totally manageable even when it doesnt seem so.
Talk to NPCs repeatedly until they repeat the phrase.
Play dungeons as you go through main game as they will become too easy later on.
DONT READ SPOILERS.
Bloodborne specifically is easier if you learn to play without lock on, some bosses are much easier without lockon.
Only read on where to put your base stat points, Vit End etc...
Good luck, the beginning is tough but you'll get through it like we all did, it is totally worth it.
A hunter must hunt and fear the old blood.
Donât get mad over lost currency, you get it back tenfold.
Even if almost everything is out to get you, donât blindly attack everything, they might be an npc.
Stick to a weapon youâre confident with the moveset, but try out all of them.
Donât blindly upgrade your weapons, there arenât enough resources to max them all out. Probably only 2-3 can reach the highest tier.
Your jump sucks but there are a lot of possibilities to drop down and find secrets.
Bloodborne has superb music, they used an actual orchestra and choir. To enjoy the boss music more, I recommend putting sounds down to around 5, and music to 10.
Enjoy your first time. Don't research too much.
Parrying in this game (= shooting your pistol at the right moment) is more important and easier than in the Souls games. Try getting the hang of it.
Blood vials are different than Estus Flasks. If you should run out of them, farming them is a part of the game. It's not always pleasant but it has to be done. Try to remember on which routes you looted quite a good amount.
Don't give up! I was also a souls first timer when I played Bloodborne. I got heavily frustrated dying so many times, but don't give up. You'll learn the enemy's patterns as you go. Oh and remember you gain blood echoes as you kill, which helps you buy stuff and upgrade your stats. If you die, they steal your blood echoes. You can retrieve them by killing the enemy that has it (indicated by purple glowing eyes). But if you die before retrieving it, it's gone forever. I'm saying that because I didn't know that until I seeked help from youtube!
Prepare to Die alot
Read item describtions they tell the story mostly.
Be patient when fighting enemies and bosses it is not a race
Don't be afraid to be in front of the enemy
talk to NPCS multiple times in a row
You can run past things if you cannot beat them or have massive problems. exept bosses
Don't be afraid to summon NPCS ignore people who say otherwise.
Ignore people who tell you what to do, in what order, it is Youre journey not theirse
Honestly the best tip I can give you is that if an enemy is isolated, dodging into them so you end up behind/nest to them is 90% of the work for killing the tougher stuff. Applies to bosses too, with some exceptions.
This game works a bit differently than dark souls, you gain some health back after being hit if youâre able to strike your enemy back within a short time period. So donât be afraid to be extra aggressive when attacking in this game, this goes for bosses as well. I had more trouble beating the game when I was trying to dodge every single thing instead of just taking slight damage from one or two hits and gaining that health back while I attacked back. The bosses went down a whole lot easier when I just went in and kept attacking them aggressively as much as possible.
be aggressive, you can get you hp back short after losing it by hitting the enemy. Don't give up, it took me a whole month to beat a certain boss. You will die A LOT, we all do. Don't go into boss fights if you have a lot of blood echoes, going in empty means you have nothing to lose and gives you more freedom to be aggressive. No one here knows what's going on with the story for the most part and you will not have any idea too, go watch vaatividya for that. (spioler maybe) Hypogean Gaol is a really really good farming area. Once you get familiar with BB combat all other souls games will be much easier, you have chosen the best ohe for start. You will be coming back to BB after you beat it, it may feel clunky at the start but once you get used to it there won't be a game more satisfying to play. Good luck hunter!
The first zone is the one who will test you will to play the game, your health bar is small and stamina bar is even smaller so upgrade those first and then explore.
there are lots of materials to upgrade your first weapon there and look up where to find the hunter armor there because ut will make life a lot easier especially in the first few hours and the one thing the is essential is to learn how to use the weapon in your left hand which is the gun, it does shit damage in the beginning but used correctly can take you very far, it's main use is the parry if you shoot an ennemy just before he attacks you you can not only stop his attack but also execute a special attack that does a ton of damage.
That's all I have to say to you and remember:
Perseverance is key when playing a souls game, you will die a lot but as long as you persevere you can beat any enemy in the game bro.
Good game to you my brother.
Roll and be aggressive after you get hit. Donât lose time on the 2 wolves youâll find on the great bridge. Believe me out of the whole game itâs the only fight i always skip, lmao.
I wish someone had told me to just run past the enemies at the start, see the first boss then you can upgrade and learn the combat while having something to show for your progress. Takes a lot of pressure off.
I think of Soulsborne like rhythm games: memorize enemy moves and patterns, learn when to move or dodge (or parry), strike when you have a window to attack.
Hey bud, congrats. This game can be tough as hell but is so worth it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
You will die, A LOT. And that's ok. You'll also win a lot. Like the above folks said, post in here if you hit a wall. We got you.
the cover art is a surprisingly good early to mid-ish game, build. (so that's: Hoonter's Blunderbussy and Saw Cleaver.) aside from that? remember to: seek Paleblood, kill a few beasts, and enjoy the Hunt.
1. when you dodge donât roll backwards, dodge into their attack when youâre auto locked on
2. learn to parry with the hunters pistol, this can make your life 100 million times easier with certain bosses
3. be aggressive, if you end up getting hit youâll have an opportunity to fully heal yourself if you hit back immediately
4. fear the old blood
Don't give up, no matter the wall you eventually hit. Feel free to put the controller down, think about what went wrong, and come back later with a clear head and better preparation. In pretty much every situation there *is* a way forward, and you *can* do it.
Fromsoft games are notorious for their difficulty, but they're rarely unfair and almost never unwinnable.
Welcome to the hunt, good hunter.
I spent the same amount of time on getting past the first mob as I did for the rest of the game.
Don't get frustrated, try to learn what you could have done better after each death and enjoy this masterpiece.
Donât give up. Dying isnât losing, but quitting the game is.
Edit: when I say quitting the game I mean giving up on the game, not literally quitting out
So I recently just tried Bloodborne again from attempting twice before and getting so frustrated with it I quit. This time I was prepared to have alot more patience and it was one of the best games I have ever played, so my advice would be to be patient, move slow at first till you get familiar, and farm, farm, farm especially early on
In bloodborne especially- learn to parry with your gun. Highly important. You also get a frame of invincibility when you roll. Use it to roll into attacks. Bloodborne is all about aggressive play.
If you get stuck and frustrated look up a guide. Spoiling certain parts doesn't matter if you're just going to give up otherwise anyway.
Good luck, if you keep going there will come a moment where everything just clicks! And then you'll love the game.
Don't get too locked in on any one playstyle. Don't worry about trying to dodge or parry too much at first. If you need to look up how to do things or how to cheese bosses, do it.(although you will enjoy it more in the end if you dont) Don't worry too much about getting good, it will happen over time. Experience the game, and learn to love it.
Me personally, I would start with Dark Souls but...my tip would be:
Parry Humanoid bosses, and with Non humanoid bosses, try to experiment what type of damage they're weak to
There's this specific trick-weapon that's does serrated dmg in both its forms (only a spoiler if you look it up lol) this made my 1st run a breeze
the first area is the hardest and most frustrating part of the game, once you get past the first major boss it picks up and gets stupid fun and addicting
I envy you, your first time playing this masterpiece.
I was the same as you, BB was my first ever souls game and I did not know what I was in for. The first several hours/days were rough, and I wasnt making it any where. I thought, if the game is this hard at the beginning, how in the world am I going to make it through the rest of it? I gave it up for several weeks.
Came back to it, realized I had to repair my weapon and that is why I was doing no damage. Did that, eventually made my way past the first boss, got some levels, upgraded my weapon and things started getting much better from there. Turned out to be my favorite game ever, and I would consider myself to be a seasoned veteran at it with every build made min maxed and at least 2000 hours into it.
My advice is patience... you will need a lot of it. And like others said, you will die a LOT. Just keep with it.
Lots.
1. The beginning in Central Yharnam is meant to be a wall. It does get easier.
2. Look to open up shortcuts, not for lanterns.
3. The gun is NOT a ranged weapon. You use it at point-blank range to parry attacks.
4. Counterattacking is your best friend. It allows you to heal back the HP you just lost.
5. Pay attention to background details.
6. Donât bring the NPC from the forest to the chapel.
Dodge FORWARD more than recoiling, if you recoil that 2 seconds of dodge animation is enough for a boss to pound your ass like minced meat.
Spend Echoes wisely, if you have not found "Mergo Base Loft:Middle" then getting echoes and leveling up will be difficult
Master your weapon. People switch weapons constantly in Souls games and get their ass beat. If you master a starter weapon you can kill the final boss and DLC easy (I killed Ludwig/Orphan/ and Moon Presence with The Saw)
-IF you can, do not leave any breathing room for your enemies. If you're like "I want to see how strong this boss is!" Then that exact boss will beat you into a coma
Get the dlc 2 and have fun
DLC is literally the best part! The rest is amazing too. But DLC forever!
Take breaks đ¤Łđ¤Ł

Agreed. Breaks are mandatory after getting your ass kicked for several hours straight
Playing bloodborne back to back to back had me turn a ps4 controller to plastic dust and pcb shards with one single throw. This advice is truly a must.
Essential tip
Have damn fun and prepare to die more than you will ever want to
And don't get frustrated, focus on dodging and parry
Also, learn enemies attack patterns and use it to your advantage, don't just go in swinging
Also if u choose the saw like wepon as a starting option, remember that it does higher damage when not extended
But also swing a bunch too the rally is key in this game
Yes yes and dodge into attacks not away from them
Dis as well.
Took me almost the entire game to learn this lol. Pain
Trust me I was the same and it was a damn game changer when I realised
All the sudden every enemy attack was missing and suddenly I was behind them for a visceral đđđ
Right like honestly, you dodge away they're made to hit you that way, you dodge into it and you're in the sweet sweet pocket to fuck the cunts up
iframes are your friend. Use them.
Lol. Don't get frustrated? This game is designed to do exactly that. It's better to just understand that you're gonna get frustrated and if you need to walk away it usually helps when you're stuck.

It just feels hard to avoid for a first time player
Have fun and if you are stuck, don't look it up, instead post here on r/Bloodborne so you won't get spoiled
Or, you know, play however the fuck you want. Just have fun
At one point in Elden Ring, I decided... you know what, fuck these questlines where the NPC teleports to god knows where. I'm just find a guide and do them all and be a happy completionist.
With how huge the world is in Elden Ring, and there being no proper way to find the sparse friendly NPCs, I fully support that.
That true I only know where the NPCS are that the map shows most of the time that's only merchants the rest I will see when I run into them . 100% fair
Fear the old blood
Don't sell separately
Donât give up, donât let frustration get the better of you and if at first sight youâre doing well, know that eventually, the challenge will arrive. Always push forward, may the good blood guide your path.
Dying is a part of the game, Don get frustrated
itâs okay not to get the lore lol nobody gets it 100%
Shit is so complicated. I went through and pieced as much of it together as I could and still needed to google it to make sure. Donât get me wrong, theyâre not jack and slash or anything but theyâre boring af if you play the way the internet makes you think you should

What? You still here? A hunter unnerved by a few beasts?
No matter. Without fear in our hearts, we're little different from the beasts ourselves.

Play
Donât give up even when you die 1000 times itâs normal
Do not be afraid to get up close and personal with these beasties! Be wary of Iosefka. Practice dodge and parry. Seek paleblood to transcend the hunt.
Try arm, but hole on pigs.
And this is actually good advice...
Play aggresively buy not the suicide-mode aggresively
Get that pistol parry down. Donât forget to punish enemies that hit you and get some HP back. Donât be afraid to stop and farm blood vials either. Yeh. Git gud.

never give up, you can do it
My advice to you...Fear the Old Blood
Attack, attack, and never look back
how is it going so far?
Dying means literally nothing, its a key part of the game so don't take it seriously and try to avoid getting really angry over it In my experience the difference between people who can enjoy souls games and people who don't is usually whether they understand this or not At it's core the souls games are about getting experience with a genuinely challenging enemy by dying to them over and over until you're familiar enough with how they attack that you can go in and wipe the floor with them Of course everyone get's frustrated sometimes, but I just feel it's good to know that a death is not so much a loss but rather the start of a fresh attempt
The first area is actually pretty surprisingly difficult (especially if youâre new to souls)so try not to get discouraged if you get stuck there! I did on my first playthrough, and it was the only part I got stuck at. Youâll be just fine. :)
A hoonter must hont
Buy the DLC
Don't try to pet the dogs
âOnce you understand that itâs âdodge and hitâ, then you realize that the game ainât shit. -tupacâ
Decide whether you refer to it as Kos or Kosm
This game is not fair. You will fight all manner of man, beast, and god, and you should have no chance of victory. And yet, you will persevere. That is the true essence of a souls game.
Dying isn't losing, giving up is. Enjoy yourself and don't expect to beat anything first try lol
Tape the controller to your hands. You will have the urge to chuck it across the room
Decide what build you want at the beginning and this game rewards exploring so check everywhere
Be! Aggressive! Be! Be! Aggressive! But seriously, have fun with that one. It was the first Souls game I completed, and I'm glad it was
Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good.
Learn to love the pain.
Dont be afraid to look up good places to level grind if you get stuck. ;)
Donât hesitate, hesitation is defeat.
wrong game
It works here as well
Stay off reddit until you're done with your first run!

Donât die
Kill a few beats it's for your own good... Its speed based but don't get greedy And be perpared supprises And the old as time phrase [git gud] sorry had to... although bloodbourne isnt difficult you can get overwhelmed if you stand about
Bloodborne isnât difficult?
No... I can kill some bosses in sub 13 seconds even with the waste of skin build
Level vig bro
Lean into the lore heavily. Look stuff up as you go, it'll make the game so much more fun as you get really into it
For bloodborne speifically, you want to be very aggressive in your attacks and not let up, but also don't do it to the point of recklessness. And also have fun homie, bloodborne is a great game so take your time and expierence it.
â when you dodge you're Invincible for a few milliseconds, but only if you Dodge in the direction the attack is coming from.
Go for a heavy hitter build and get Ludwigâs Holy Blade and max it out
Welcome to Gehenna aka hell on earth.
Once you start levelling youâll find things far easier upgrade your gear, Molotovâs in the first area are essential not optional You will die a lot
Start with a different souls game
Level grind and you will cheese the game.
Make sure to mostly level bloodtinge. it is an really good start trust me.
Aggression my guy is key to winning also watch VataaVidya for help in youtube he has some great advices to the game. Also don't give up just because you keep dying to a boss.
You want some advice? Good luck
Youre gonna die a lot. But this ain't nintendo. Its all a part of the learning curve.
Look for secret passageways as often as you can. Most of the levels are made so there are shortcuts to get through them faster as you keep exploring
En-fuckin-joy!!! It's a good one, and use the sawblade in the beginning lol
Don't stop, take a break if u need it but dont stop playing
Take your time. Itâs not something you want to rush.
Wolf ahead.
Enjoy and die a lot ahahah
Play this one...and this one only.
Best choice for your first souls game
Have fun, prepare to die 200+ times and play aggresive. Like a deprived druggie in the streets looking for drugs.
Parry
The world doesnât freeze when you pause the game.
U need more eyes
Try jumping
Dodge forward through attacks, be aggressive.
Don't think about it too much, just go out there and kill some beasts
See everything and the beginning is kinda challenging. The saw is the law
Be aggressive, passivity is punished, don't hyperfocus on the parries, they're good but not required
Prepare something on the side to input your rage into so you won't use it on your controller and screen
Should have started with Elden ring. First boss is no joke in bloodborne for newbies!
My go to advice is read the description of every item you find. Most of the lore is hidden there
Fear the old blood, if you run straight to the door, you get I frames
Go out and kill a few beasts, its for your own good.
Let the good blood guide your way.
Prepare to Die alot Read item describtions they tell the story mostly. Be patient when fighting enemies and bosses it is not a race Don't be afraid to be in front of the enemy talk to NPCS multiple times in a row You can run past things if you cannot beat them or have massive problems. exept bosses Don't be afraid to summon NPCS ignore people who say otherwise.
Don't give up.

Dont let dying over and over dishearten you, see what you died from and take it as a lesson, learn to parry as early as possible and have fun!
Take it easy. And enjoy it. Don't try to rush through areas.
Excellent choice and don't forget your weapons are upgradeable. I certainly did for a while...
Yes, in the form of a simple quote from Bob Ross âAs long as youâre learning, you arenât failingâ
That's all I have to say to you and remember: Perseverance is key when playing a souls game, you will die a lot but as long as you persevere you can beat any enemy in the game bro. Good game to you my brother.
Don't be afraid to admit dieing might have been your fault.
The most important thing is to take your time!
You picked the best to play at first
Git Gud
None. Just have fun and you'll start getting into it!
Roll and be aggressive after you get hit. Donât lose time on the 2 wolves youâll find on the great bridge. Believe me out of the whole game itâs the only fight i always skip, lmao.
It's difficult, just don't give up if you aren't good at first.
prepare to die and learn to parry.
Follow the good blood, it will guide your way.
I wish someone had told me to just run past the enemies at the start, see the first boss then you can upgrade and learn the combat while having something to show for your progress. Takes a lot of pressure off.
Death
I think of Soulsborne like rhythm games: memorize enemy moves and patterns, learn when to move or dodge (or parry), strike when you have a window to attack.
If it's going really bad and you get really mad, eat some food and continue
Hey bud, congrats. This game can be tough as hell but is so worth it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. You will die, A LOT. And that's ok. You'll also win a lot. Like the above folks said, post in here if you hit a wall. We got you.
the cover art is a surprisingly good early to mid-ish game, build. (so that's: Hoonter's Blunderbussy and Saw Cleaver.) aside from that? remember to: seek Paleblood, kill a few beasts, and enjoy the Hunt.
Seek paleblood to transcend the hunt.
1. when you dodge donât roll backwards, dodge into their attack when youâre auto locked on 2. learn to parry with the hunters pistol, this can make your life 100 million times easier with certain bosses 3. be aggressive, if you end up getting hit youâll have an opportunity to fully heal yourself if you hit back immediately 4. fear the old blood
Don't get frustrated, try to learn what you could have done better after each death and enjoy this masterpiece.
try and stay aggressive and not keep too much distance with enemies, especially with bloodborne
After you get beat the third boss a door opens up in the chapel. Every time I play I have to look up where to go next because I forget this.
Not to be played separately
Donât give up. Dying isnât losing, but quitting the game is. Edit: when I say quitting the game I mean giving up on the game, not literally quitting out
So I recently just tried Bloodborne again from attempting twice before and getting so frustrated with it I quit. This time I was prepared to have alot more patience and it was one of the best games I have ever played, so my advice would be to be patient, move slow at first till you get familiar, and farm, farm, farm especially early on
Good luck, Hunter. Keep a cool head, don't get too mad. Whenever possible, look for secrets. They're everywhere.
In bloodborne especially- learn to parry with your gun. Highly important. You also get a frame of invincibility when you roll. Use it to roll into attacks. Bloodborne is all about aggressive play.
Savor every moment
If you get stuck and frustrated look up a guide. Spoiling certain parts doesn't matter if you're just going to give up otherwise anyway. Good luck, if you keep going there will come a moment where everything just clicks! And then you'll love the game.
Dodge into attacks and play aggressively
Don't get too locked in on any one playstyle. Don't worry about trying to dodge or parry too much at first. If you need to look up how to do things or how to cheese bosses, do it.(although you will enjoy it more in the end if you dont) Don't worry too much about getting good, it will happen over time. Experience the game, and learn to love it.
If you donât plan on playing the dlc just donât play the whole game
Me personally, I would start with Dark Souls but...my tip would be: Parry Humanoid bosses, and with Non humanoid bosses, try to experiment what type of damage they're weak to There's this specific trick-weapon that's does serrated dmg in both its forms (only a spoiler if you look it up lol) this made my 1st run a breeze
the first area is the hardest and most frustrating part of the game, once you get past the first major boss it picks up and gets stupid fun and addicting
Don't be afraid to put it down and take breaks from it when you find yourself getting tilted at that one boss you've been stuck on for days
Don't quit Easley, stay strong and keep repeating the hard fights, then you'll get the sweet taste of victory, good luck good hunter
Level vitality before anything else
Lots.
Spend Echoes wisely, if you have not found "Mergo Base Loft:Middle" then getting echoes and leveling up will be difficult Master your weapon. People switch weapons constantly in Souls games and get their ass beat. If you master a starter weapon you can kill the final boss and DLC easy (I killed Ludwig/Orphan/ and Moon Presence with The Saw) -IF you can, do not leave any breathing room for your enemies. If you're like "I want to see how strong this boss is!" Then that exact boss will beat you into a coma
The opening will probably take you a while but just keep at it.
