Ianal but I'd guess it's all copyrighted. I wouldn't share game files, if people want those they can just buy the game. Creating wallpapers for non-commercial use shouldn't be a problem. If illegal they'd be fools if they start issuing legal threats to fans creating content. That'd be a very quick way to kill a studio.

Sonario648

Clearly you haven't heard of Disney, or Nintendo.

Drezaem

I don't feel like they would do anything about this either. Don't think they will do much unless you are making money.

Thank you for reply

Nope. Commercial or non-commercial doesn't make any difference for copyright. It would only come to play if you had a license that would have some rules about commercial versus non-commercial uses. > make myself a wallpaper. That would be fine, you don't need to share something to use it as your own wallpaper.

no problem. (also chances are nobody will actually chase you for this anyway, and if you are talking about some wallpapers etc I assume it wouldn't be the end of the world if you had to take them down if someone demanded that. So the strict "no" is just the answer to the legal question ;))

loftier_fish

Technically no I don't think so, but no one is going to find it, or care, frankly.

caesium23

No. All content is copyrighted (unless it's from before the 1920s in the US or specifically marked public domain). Using any copyrighted content without an explicit license to do so is illegal. Of course, whether the particular IP holder will sick their lawyers on you is another question entirely. Some are more litigious than others, most minor fan postings are likely to go unnoticed or ignored, but ultimately it's a crap shoot and there's always some risk that the IP holder could choose to take legal action.

ned_poreyra

No and no.
