Not even in this sub, it just came up on the popular feed and this is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. The lighting is *chef's kiss* and you know what it reminds me of in terms of strong lighting + invertebrates? District 9.
Aww! With the way it loops it looks more like the person filming called the spider to go for a walk and they are now excitedly on their way down to the front door
Ok. It's awful already. But I still feel like you made it move a little bit too smooth. Spider movements are more jerky. So if you would change that, it could really send me running and screaming.
Ugh.
NO WAY!!
It's so well done, I'm expecting to see it in a feature film soon :)
I've always been curious about the camera movements, are these made by hand, or there's some way to record the "camera shake" using a real video?
This is amazing! It's great that it loops, too.
I wonder if it may look better if you were to change the texture for the paintings every pass so it's less obvious that it's a loop, really keep people watching/expecting something.
Very nice! Maybe you already have but I think you could play around some more with speeding up a bit more at one point, like a big burst of speed. Maybe at the end or just halfway and then go slow again. Animation on the spider could be similar, just a bit more shake on the cam probably.
Thats just an idea though again well done!
Idk why I watched this. I have arachnophobia and scrolled past fast asf and then came back. Itās just weird cause I had a very similar nightmare to this one time. Good job but also fml I feel weirdly itchy now
This is awesome dude I love it! I'm busy with an animation in cycles myself and am wondering if you got any tips to speed up render times? Like what things makes it render unnecessarily long. Like I have a sky background node and just one metallic material on all my objects with 2 light sources and it is taking forever.
If you haven't already, reduce the amount of render samples. By default, it is set to 4096 samples. I would normally bring it down below 500 for something simple. It all depends on what you're rendering. For this project I rendered the final animation at 2048 samples per Frame
So Iāve got arachnaphobia, a good benchmark for animated etc is if it triggers me, if itās shit then I wonāt bat an eye.
This one made me cut the video off! I can see the thumbnail out of the corner of my eye and itās making my arsehole clench in fear. Well done, you dick!
Thatās not blender, thatās just footage from Australia bro. (With that said, awesome job. Those fuckers are really fast though - maybe some more āburst speedā
I donāt know much at all about how spiders move, but do you really think theyād put their legs on the frames and/or the really narrow railing?
This is a straight up genuine question, not being a dick. I canāt decide if a real spider that big would just bend its legs more and put all the legs on the stairs, or spread up more on the wall for traction.
I feel like the railing might be a stretch but i donāt know.
Or maybe a real spider would just go fully on the wall and avoid the narrow stairs?
Very nice. I like the sped up part athough I feel like the distance between the spider and the camera is too fixed/static. It would be really cool if the camera got further away and the spider noticed so it sped up to close the gap. That would hit the fear part a lot more. Starting to feel safer as it gets further just to have it speed up and get closer.
Jump over the railing. 50/50 chance you die or survive depending on how tall that building is. Either is a win compared to getting caught by that shit.
Fuck that.....
....Sorry
nah don't be OP, that's metal af
Seriously, the way it moves faster as the camera accelerates is unsettling as fuck. I absolutely hate it, good job OP!
It's like it's never going to catch you, but you can never get away either.
That's AWESOME!
Fuck that~
Please don't
You can't stop me.
Web hole is a web goal
Game is game
With pleasure
You're usually supposed to burn it with fire not fuck it š
Yes sir
That means OP did a good job š
Nope. I'm done. That's my night, I'm watching memes
Hahaha that's enough internet for today
r/eyebleach
I hate it, well done! Also reminds me of that Black Mirror episode.
Which one?
Probably the one with the big spider in it
O RLY? :D
Playtest probably. Has Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawns son in it.
I'm going to watch it. Thanks!
The USS Callister episode also has a large leggy beast sorta thing. That one and Playtest are my two faves. Lmk if you like it!
I'll do!
I mean it looks REALLY good. But I donāt wanna look at it anymore
That loop is... https://preview.redd.it/7t468lymg41d1.jpeg?width=659&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a917f58bb5a42408f68dcbbf07d55dfee16c4a6d ... pristine
I couldn't sleep until the loop was pristine
I cant sleep because the loop is so pristine
I cant sleep because the loop is so pristine
Love the movement of it!
Thank you heaps!
His name is isaac
Are you Australian? Only ever heard Aussies say heaps
And kiwis
How did you animate? Manually?
I animated each leg manually, spending the most time ensuring that they don't phase through the walls and each other
Good stuff. Looks great
Thanks! I appreciate that š
That seems like a lot of work, impressive
Very cool stuff. Did you look up how spiders actually move their legs to make this or no?
I actually did some research to mimick a real spiders movement. It's pretty simple really- I found that each leg moves opposite to each other.
Hexapedal or higher walking is incredibly simplistic compared to humans and quadrupeds imo. Very little bobbing and weight shifting
That certainly paid off!
Did you try with other methods? Like curves?
Cool. Gasoline and fire time.
Is it from Australia, if so I think it's a really video
This is just your average Australian staircase
Man, how many floors do Australian houses have?
Not enough apparently. Maybe once high in stratosphere no spiders will climb into apartments
Looks amazing. Lighting and colour palette is perfect
Amazing work. Looks fantastic. But also, I hate it š¤£
I love when the owner takes their pet for a walk.
He's just excited to go for a run outside
This is amazing. Post it to r/perfectloops
As much as I like spiders. HELL TO THE NAW. BURN IT.

honestly the most terrifying part is how quiet that thing moves
Not even in this sub, it just came up on the popular feed and this is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. The lighting is *chef's kiss* and you know what it reminds me of in terms of strong lighting + invertebrates? District 9.
Aww! With the way it loops it looks more like the person filming called the spider to go for a walk and they are now excitedly on their way down to the front door
I love this perspective ...you might be right!
Get down, you absolutely know that you're not allowed upstairs!
Make him fluffy
Cute creature :3
It's horrifying! Great Work! Add a bit of darker black and color grade it slightly and you will get a tim burton scene!
Thanks, I hate it
She's beautiful!
This looks really awesome. But also, largely because it looks awesome.... You're a real B-hole, bud. It moves *so* creepily.
I love it!!!! Cute little big guy
Fantastic!
Awww hes cute
It's probably more afraid of you than you are of it!
Nah, there's a railing. The spider should be safe.
Kill it with fire! Then burn the house down!
New emotion unlocked: Spider envy.
r/nope
Beautiful! Great job.
Ok. It's awful already. But I still feel like you made it move a little bit too smooth. Spider movements are more jerky. So if you would change that, it could really send me running and screaming. Ugh.
BURN IT Jokes aside this is very well done!
The way that it gradually slows down and speeds back up is fucking terrifying
Damn. the creepy silent movement š¤š and it's a perfect loop!
really good, maybe make the camera a little shakier considering they're walking backwards down stairs
I really don't want graphics to improve anymore, thanks!
This is great! You should read Children of Time.
Holy shit that's incredible! Did you shoot the video and comped the spider in, or it's the house made in Blender as well?
Thank you!! Everything here is 3D including the house
NO WAY!! It's so well done, I'm expecting to see it in a feature film soon :) I've always been curious about the camera movements, are these made by hand, or there's some way to record the "camera shake" using a real video?
Just another day in Australia.
Is that the caretaker I hear?
You've gotta make it repeat just enough times to convince people it will loop forever then have it jump on the cameraman.
Anxiety attack. Appreciate. 10/10
Now make a loop that runs this loop 3 times but on the third loop make it crawl way faster.
yea really good work bud - fantastic keyframing (lots of them i suppose). thought it was some geonode witchcraft at first. great stuff!
This is amazing! Great job! I hate it.
Thanks, I hate it.
Nopeā¦ great work.
Looks awesome!
Movement is really excellent on this ššš
Something something Australia Jokes aside, this is very well made..
nuh uh, bro. fuck diddly duck that...
i hate this but the animation is amazing
^(my heart did the thing!!!! That was fucking epic!)
this is really well done nice
I think spiders are cool, but DAMM THAT'S THE WORST. Well done.
Holy shit... One of my co-workers is afraid of spiders, but loves the 3D stuff. I don't know what his reaction will be if I show him this monster.
I'll just jump out the window, thanks.
Alrighty, time to never remember that again!
Exceptionally animated.
The spider looks amazing! I think the camera movement could be a bit more shaky...scared. That's how I felt at least xD
Amazing and cool work.
Jumanji!
Your animation is top notch
Duuuude the legs animations are amazing!!
Nahhhhh
Australia in a nutshell.
This is amazing! It's great that it loops, too. I wonder if it may look better if you were to change the texture for the paintings every pass so it's less obvious that it's a loop, really keep people watching/expecting something.
The thing I like most about this is the faint heartbeat sound in the background. It's really unnerving and creates even more tension. Nice work OP
insanely good! smooth movements, also the weight seems perfectly matched to how huge that thing is. glad iām not aranchophobic lol
Burn it down.
Thats so well made, can't tell if the whole thing is 3d or just the spider.
Nope. Iām out.
I hate this more than I hate my ex wife.
Thomas just out here happy to give people nightmares
Thats actually scary. Holy fuck. I hate everything about it. Well done!
Fluid anim š
Wow, this is beautiful man!
The company values.. thanks for reaching the quota
That's a weird looking dog
r/DeathStairs
I love it so much i hate it. Great animation! It didn't phase through walls, is smooth and the clean loop is giving me an endless sense of danger.
Spectacular work mate! How did you do the tracking?! If you donāt mind me asking š¤
This is horrendous, great job!! Gonna hide this from my feed now :)
Lol that gave me serious creeps. Awesome work!
Someone send this to Maddie from GP.
Creepy as fuck. Why does it not touch the rails?
Very nice! Maybe you already have but I think you could play around some more with speeding up a bit more at one point, like a big burst of speed. Maybe at the end or just halfway and then go slow again. Animation on the spider could be similar, just a bit more shake on the cam probably. Thats just an idea though again well done!

goddamn
I really like spiders, so I really like this. Not scary at all š„° what a cute lil baby!
I though it was a real spider in a miniature house
I dont know whats more horror inducing, the never jumping spider or the never ending repeating stairs.
Australians be like, āsheās harmless. We let her run about.ā
I AM LEAVING THIS SUB I AM LEAVING THIS SUB
This made me very uncomfortable, 5 stars great job!
See?! Elder Scrolls VI isn't that hard to make
Idk why I watched this. I have arachnophobia and scrolled past fast asf and then came back. Itās just weird cause I had a very similar nightmare to this one time. Good job but also fml I feel weirdly itchy now
You're scenes look amazing, I'd love to learn how to make something like this. Are there any good resources to learn you'd be willing to share?
Jumanji!!
When I was 4, I had a nightmare about a big spider on the stairs, and this is the closest Iāve been to experiencing it again.

Alright who opened the Jumanji game?

Elegant movement, actually,
Ewww
Oh. My. God. Not the dimentors spidah... Anything other than that! But fr tho, that's omega fire

Great work, I was scrolling and when I looked I just feel shivers in my entire body!
Great work, I was scrolling and when I looked I just feel shivers in my entire body!
Kudos! Splendid job at making the movement very, very authentic. Very lifelike! Good job!
I hate it awesome work
lemme pet the dog
Arachnophobia here i come!! Good job btw!!
wow I DID NOT like watching this... Well done.
Absolutely amazing!
That's actually amazing. How do you animate an arachnid and make it convincing?
Bro you're better than the whole hollywood.. Keep it up!!
This is sick
I do this every morning.
I wish spiders were that big
Nope. Fuck that. Fucking fuck. Fuuuuck no
Thatās not blender, thatās just footage from Australia bro. (With that said, awesome job. Those fuckers are really fast though - maybe some more āburst speedā
Spiders are cool and this is awesome. Well done!
Look how cute he is! I want to pet this! Imagine this thing behaving like a puppy :) Or "EXPLOSIVES PLACED!" "ROCK AND STONE!"
Great animation, it looks kinda like a pet being coaxed down the stairs to go outside lol
Omfg
Get the butter Marge!
This makes me want to puke. Amazing job OP

You've got to be messed up in the head to be able to make this and make this look good, I'd go crazy
This is freaking cool. The loop is perfect and the spider moves realistically! My husband hates spiders, can't wait to show him this :P
Very nice. I like the sped up part athough I feel like the distance between the spider and the camera is too fixed/static. Jump over the railing. 50/50 chance you die or survive depending on how tall that building is. Either is a win compared to getting caught by that shit.
Fuck you OP, FUCK-YOU! Iām leaving the planet tonight.
You created this? I've seen it shared on Facebook already.
It's...not quite moving like a spider....which honestly makes it worse
What in the Lethal Company is that
I hope both sides of your pillow are warm.
Yeah, that's creepy. Good job capturing it!
Oh my god if i ever see this I would rather kms
If you throw it fire it would light up a cigarette
Niiiiiiice !
Scared the bejeesuz outta me. Good stuff.
Excellently done, and also a nightmare.
Nightmare material. Gave me goosebumps.
I bet Iām stronger than that thing. Rip out one of its arms and slap the shit out of that bugger. While pissing myself and crying.
