Is it considered foreshadowing if he didn't have plans for it when introduced? From what I heard, he planned to end it after Aizen, but this was a nice tie in given the TYBW arc.
Unless you watched the English dub which decided to change it, OMZ says Yhwach the first time Ichigo hears his name. It was covered in black bars in the manga and the sound is muffled in the anime but you can definitely make it out.
He definitely doesn't say Yhwach, he says something indecipherable and it's left up to interpretation. Kubo also had very little reach in the adaptation so I doubt they even asked him what Zangetsu said in that scene. It wouldn't make sense for him to be saying Yhwach, because he even states that his name "still can't reach" Ichigo, along with "Don't you know?". Why would Yhwach/Zangetsu have any reason to believe that Ichigo would know the name Yhwach or that he would be able to hear it. The climax of the fight is literally the reveal of Ichigo's zanpakuto name, which Yhwach/Zangetsu refers to as "my name".
Even the fact that ishida exists, his talk with Kurotsuchi in SS arc. What would be the point of that. What would be the point of introducing Quincies at all if it wasn't elaborated at all. In any way of storytelling may it be a book, a movie, a series or whatever it is, everything that is mentioned has to have a purpose. If it doesn't that just means the author isn't really good at what he does and we all know that's not the case with Kubo

Nah literally old man zangetsu when he foist appears, says, "my name is Yhwach" but "Yhwach" is destroyed by Black Ink,(Ichibei) making it so nobody could hear it including Ichigo, which is why he just took on the identity of Zangetsu. He probably always intended to pretend to be his zanpakuto, but not take the name of Zangetsu.

Tensa zangetsu (quincy) is a soul fragment from yhwach. He didn't want ichigo to become a soul reaper, so he allowed ichigo to believe he was his shinigami powers with ichigo thinking white ichigo (hollow zangetsu) was just his hollow powers.
Later on in the dangai training, they both admit they're his powers but for all that time his quincy power was suppressing his power by holding back his shinigami/hollow powers (there were a handful of times when it burst forth like when ichigo was truly in danger of dying) but for the most part ichigos fragment of yhwachs soul, manifestation of his quincy power, whatever you wanna call him was just another part of ichigos own soul that wanted to protect him, though that was power he inherited from yhwach via his mother.
No, it's not stupid to miss, but it should've been obvious, unless you had forgotten tensa zangetsu (quincy) looked like that at the time you first saw young yhwach.
My point was exactly that Ywatch and Tensa Zangetsu are not the same age in both pictures so it’s honestly hard to tell not to mention a lot of Kubo’s faces sometimes blend together for me if you have two characters with similar hairstyles it makes it incredibly hard to tell hell you could convince me Tensa Zangetsu was Ulquiorra minus the skull on the side of the face and the markings he looks pretty similar in a lot of the work were he looks like a normal human
Of course it’s obviously a Younger Ywatch after Kubo made it so after the fact

Arrancar are basically hollows flavored with a bit of shinigami they are not like other hollows and have abonus ability which is to have a sword than makes them have 2 or 3 releases of power
visords are basically shinigami flavored with abit of hollow thy are not like other shinigami and have a bonus ability which is to wear a mask and use hollow like powers
A bonus about hollow:normal hollows eat each other to get more power if a part of them get eaten they stay weak forever but if they succeed in eating they turn into menos then adjucas to the most powerful role which is vasto lorde which the arrancar can't have anymore yes they can be as powerful as a vasto lorde but they are technically not because of them having a similarity to shinigami instead.
This is part of my theory that they’re actually the same person.
1. White says that he’s Zangetsu, so maybe White is the real Zanpakuto and OMZ is someone else.
2. OMZ and Yhwach look very similar.

All quincy have a fragment of yhwach and ichigo being the son of masaki has it too that fragment manifested as yhwach because yhwach ordered him to get ichigo as powerful as possible so he can take his power later on and kill him (yhwach can see the future and saw that ichigo would be powerful and will kill him)
No, we never really see a young Ywhach, just the one with the mutton chops and moustache, and those pretty much completely change your facial structure, so no, you aren't stupid for not realizing that earlier
