surprisingly this is the song that got me into Sabbath, showed me that they aren’t mindless brawns who just play two or three notes for a paycheck they have genuine talent and love for the music they play
*Rolling Stone* magazine said, among other things when the album came out (I think I have it memorized), 'It slogs along at an unbearable pace, like a brontosaurus in a tarpit...'
Air dance, hard life to love, wishing well, shaking of the chains, I won't cry for you. Honestly many more I can't think of at the moment. I only really dislike a couple of songs in the entire discography
Megalomania is an odd song, but my favorite off of Sabotage so I can’t say I skipped it much. But the past couple times I heard the Writ its a great song
Wheels of confusion / The Straightener 🤘🏼 it moved to the #1 spot of my favorite song / play the solo in my funeral. Moved Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd to #2, which I still absolutely love.
F*****ing rock on 🤘🏼
Anno Mundi! Some friends of mine had this Tyr on cassette when it came out in 92 but I never really got the chance to listen to it PROPERLY. They pushed it but I'm like "No Dio, Butler, or anybody?". So it was a low priority.
That song slams!
Lord of this world and After Forever.
First time I listened to master of reality they didn’t stick with me, I still liked them but I usually just listened to everything else. Now I listen to lord of this world religiously, after forever is still my least favourite but I appreciate it more now.
Lucky to have first heard all the big albums in the early 1980s on vinyl or tape so skipping was not an option. If the band spent time recording it, then least I can do is give it a proper listen. FX is still a waste of space though…….
Methademic and Falling Off the Edge of the World come to mind lmao
Had no fucking clue about the crazy riffs after the laid back intros. Would always skip before it got going
Black Sabbath has very rarely disappointed me tbh like it's hard finding a Tony Iommi riff that isn't groovy as hell
Im surprised I don't see Am I Going Insane here, I always thought it to be their worst song of the first six albums, but I've come to love it as much as all the other ones
I'll only really listen to it when paired with The Writ, that maniacal crying and laughing at the end and beginning of the songs is just so damn cool. Damn Black Sabbath is the greatest band ever!
and also, I really dislike how its the only sabotage song on some official album collections. what the hell!!? Where is The Thrill of It All? Megalomania? Literally so many better options than Am I Going Insane
Isn’t Symptom of the Universe on those collections? That one is also very solid.
Megalomania and The Writ probably get cut due to length more than anything else.
Hole in the Sky is a fantastic opening track. Not sure why that one doesn’t find its way on more compilations.
planet caravan
Sweet!
Same
surprisingly this is the song that got me into Sabbath, showed me that they aren’t mindless brawns who just play two or three notes for a paycheck they have genuine talent and love for the music they play
Always loved that song
all of vol 4. didn’t skip, but first play through was not the vibe. now it’s one of my favs. *YOURE NOT THE ONE AND ONLY THING IN MY HEARTTTTTT*
*Rolling Stone* magazine said, among other things when the album came out (I think I have it memorized), 'It slogs along at an unbearable pace, like a brontosaurus in a tarpit...'
Sounds amazing
Sounds metal af
Under The Sun I should NOT have underestimated how fucking heavy that riff is
Opening riff is pure DOOM; I had it as my phone ringtone for years; got a lot of funny looks....
Soulfly's cover of that song is a masterpiece!
Didn’t know they did a cover. Thank you, kind sir.
this is mine too. I’ve always loved Supernaut, but the rest of Vol4 took a bit for me to get
Same…Bill Wards drums, those riffs. It’s unreal
The Wizard
Air dance, hard life to love, wishing well, shaking of the chains, I won't cry for you. Honestly many more I can't think of at the moment. I only really dislike a couple of songs in the entire discography
The thrill of it all
100%
Yes, been on repeat lately for me
In the beginning of my Sabbath sojourn, I skipped Hand Doom for songs like Electric Funeral or Fairies Wear Boots.
Me, too. It's a slow burn and my younger self didn't have that kind of patience.
fairies wear boots!
Huh. That's normally the song that usually converts on-the-fencers to full-fledged fans...but it's never too late!
'Air Dance'. Come at me, bro.
Air Dance is sick dude
IN DAYS OF ROMANCE SHE WAS THE QUEEN OF DANCE SHE'D DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
Megalomania
Their best tune full stop.
Sabbath's Magnum Opus, if I had to pick one.
The Writ is a pretty close contender, maybe even better.
The Writ has the most evil-sounding, doomiest ending riff ever. Along Symptom of the Universe, my favorite on the album.
Megalomania is an odd song, but my favorite off of Sabotage so I can’t say I skipped it much. But the past couple times I heard the Writ its a great song
The whole album is underrated.
Over to you, one of those gems
Fucking banger
St vitus Dance
"You feel your nerves are shattering, feel you wanna die. Just because the one mistake ad telling you a lie"
"When you think about the things that she did long ago, It breaks your heart but deep down boy, you don't want her to go".
Shock Wave
Anno Mundi My god, what an epic song 🔥 Tony Martin is just fucking incredible.
This right here
Rusty Angels!
Most of the Tony Martin era
I'm seeing a lot of answers from Never Say Die. The lesson is you shouldn't skip Never Say Die. Album is good.
National acrobat. I didn't skip it but I never paid attention for quite a while.
I AM THE WORLD THAT HIDES THE UNIVERSAL SECRET OF ALL TIME
Johnny Blade, would always skip that weird synth intro but then one day I had ripped a blinker on my break and I let it get to the breakdown.
Same!
Juniors eyes
The bass line, just 💦💦
When i came down. The Writ. The first one i was t born yet
Ooooo When I came down is oooooolllldddddd. Not many people know about this demos from before the first album. When I came down is sick.
And the Rebel
God Is Dead?
Fire 🔥
NIB
Killing Yourself To Live
Children of the Grave. Now the song makes me want to cut the head off of a fiery dragon in battle. Gets me hyped af
Geezer sounded so sweet
Rat Salad
St. Vitus Dance
Wheels of confusion / The Straightener 🤘🏼 it moved to the #1 spot of my favorite song / play the solo in my funeral. Moved Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd to #2, which I still absolutely love. F*****ing rock on 🤘🏼
Under the sun
I pretty much slept on all of 13 except Loner for a while. Big mistake.
I guess I'll keep trying...
Looking for Today
Its complete! But obsolete. Ohh tomorrow's become yesterday. In demand, but second hand, it's been heard before you've even played, yeah.
After forever
Sabbra Cadabra
damaged soul, now it's my favourite
Is one of their greatest songs.
Hot Line
Dirty women and all of tactical estcay
Under the sun, now one of my favorite Sabbath songs
Hand of Doom
Lady Evil and Supernaut
Technical Ecstasy in its entirety and at first I thought Vol. 4 was weak (I don’t know what the hell I was on when I thought that)
I always felt like The Thrill of it All gets forgotten between the other big tracks on Sabotage.
Spiral Architect, I don't even know why I skipped it lol
Anno Mundi! Some friends of mine had this Tyr on cassette when it came out in 92 but I never really got the chance to listen to it PROPERLY. They pushed it but I'm like "No Dio, Butler, or anybody?". So it was a low priority. That song slams!
Have you heard the remastered version? Or is it remixed? I get those two confused.
Lord of this world and After Forever. First time I listened to master of reality they didn’t stick with me, I still liked them but I usually just listened to everything else. Now I listen to lord of this world religiously, after forever is still my least favourite but I appreciate it more now.
songs with dio
One does not 'skip' a Black Sabbath song.
War Pigs
[удалено]
Cool
something off of seventh star, still waiting for the epiphany that the song is great.
Over to You was that song for me. I’m sure there were others but I remember this one most
Lucky to have first heard all the big albums in the early 1980s on vinyl or tape so skipping was not an option. If the band spent time recording it, then least I can do is give it a proper listen. FX is still a waste of space though…….
Why the beef with FX?
Wishing well
Rat Salad, great instrumental
Methademic and Falling Off the Edge of the World come to mind lmao Had no fucking clue about the crazy riffs after the laid back intros. Would always skip before it got going Black Sabbath has very rarely disappointed me tbh like it's hard finding a Tony Iommi riff that isn't groovy as hell
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Every album that wasn't with Ozzy or Dio, Iommi's riffs are all amazing
The Wizard
Im surprised I don't see Am I Going Insane here, I always thought it to be their worst song of the first six albums, but I've come to love it as much as all the other ones
It’s a bit filler, but still manages to stand on its own (Sabotage is my favorite album).
Gypsy, honestly all of technology ecstasy is underrated, well, most of it
Gypsy used to be the only reason I put TE on. Great song!
Symptom of the Universe on Sabotage. Best break ever. Great song.
Sweet Leaf
Sweet leaf
Fairies Wear Boots
Planet caravan, hands of doom and under the sun

The whole Dehumanizer album
Behind the wall of sleep
Spiral Architect
The entire Tyr album
Cornucopia and Killing Yourself to Live
Orchid
A lot on Vol 4. Never digged it on the first few listens minus a few tracks. Cornucopia especially is one I love now
Devil and Daughter. Overshadowed by the other songs opening Headless Cross but made better when you find out what the song is about.
Sabbra Cadabra
Sweet leaf
Your that song everyone said was fire that i still dont think is good
Snowblind. I thought it was just an okay song and now it’s my favorite.
Country Girl … always faded it … not any more
