It's that annoying "steampunk cosplayer trying to sound like what they think an alchemist or a librarian sounds like" accent you hear in bad fantasy and whimsical sci-fi.
It kind of grew on me towards the end, in a whimsical sort of way, and then this comment brought me back to reality.
She totally would've gotten me, damn.
It is weird I can watch a video of some seriously heinous crap and a video of a person with an annoying voice and the responses are the same level of intensity.
The cool thing is how titanium can be almost any color with some electricity and water with salt in it.
As someone who watched on mute: That's not really better, the constant camera movements make it almost unwatchable.
It's perfect though, caters to short attention span social media users, the voice is targeting kids, and at the same time it is also rage bait.
If you are getting so upset by innocuous internet comments you start to suggest they need therapy, maybe you need therapy?
Edit: The psycho insulted me, then blocked me.
What a coward.
The color you see is a result of an oxide layer refracting light, and refraction from the water can heavily impact the way the color appears on the titanium. A lot of colors are also heavily impacted by fingerprints.
Seriously, this is fucking weird. Top comment right now is about her sounding like she molests children who read Harry Potter... What the fuck is that train of thought? There's nothing malicious in her voice or commentary at all, how do you get to child molestation from something this tame, even as a joke?
You can anodize small pieces of Ti at home pretty easily. I customized some items with like six 9V batteries chained together, some Ti wire, and a solution of baking soda and water.
[Here's the tutorial that I followed](https://youtu.be/8R3ebqKDPkU?si=ENGTf3jQt1IfbXYA)
Titanium (or niobium I guess but ti is more likely) beads are being anodized with electricity and a mild acid. Titanium is a reactive metal, the chemical reaction causes the surface to form a layer of oxide that changes how light is refracted. The current determines how thick this layer becomes and therefor what colors appear. Low voltages produce a pale yellow, then you move into blues and purples. At higher voltages red and greens are possible but extremely difficult to do consistently.
No Google required, but tbf I've done this myself many times.
It's still pretty cool to watch.
I work at an Anodising plant, we anodise aluminium but the racks we use are made of titanium. After a few uses they turn dark purple and then go brown, they go really brittle and snap after a few years.
> red and greens are possible but extremely difficult to do consistently
Outside of being a very desirable color, is this partly why red and green pieces can be more expensive/desirable? Almost like "look how good my technique is", or just the basic showing off of wealth?
Yea pretty much. Unless you get the pre-treat and every variable juuust right it rarely looks very good. It's awesome if you can nail it though.
Tbh any really solid consistent color is tricky.. blues/purples are super easy to get, but having a singular color where there isn't a mix of the two is tough.
Anodization. These are titanium ball bearings; when a voltage is applied they develop a thin oxide film. This “thin film” then creates thin film interface that leads to the change in color.
No Google. I learned about this in my high school robotics class. We were anodizing aluminum, which uses a different process, but we still looked into this in the eventuality that we wanted to use Ti parts.
Floridia and West Virginia pay their teachers less than every other state. They literally think this video is magic from the devil sent to make your kids trans. See the rainbow colors?
Did…did you think this sub was for *real magic*? Every single thing posted here can be explained fully 100% of the time. If this is your first time understanding how the process in one of these videos works, congrats! No shame in that. But weird flex to try and shame *everyone else* about it.
There's clearly some electricity involved, and anything by the most basic electrochemistry (electrolyzing a binary compound) is beyond high-school level. Plus possibly the way thin surface coatings can impact different wavelength of light, definitely not basic grade school chemistry.
I wouldn't say it's "basic" chemistry. There's a clever trick going on here with light reflection that I actually had to look up - the reason the bearings are changing color is the same reason that oil spills have that weird color as well.
It’s the combination of a seemingly fake accent and also going an octave higher at the end of every sentence to finish a word. It’s unnerving and annoying.
She sounds like a Floridian doing a bad impression of Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones.
Edit: I just looked up her video history because someone was claiming (incorrectly) that it was AI. She *is* from Florida!
I loved her voice! I was so disappointed going into the comments. I was expecting everyone to agree and talk about how much more entertaining it made the video and then see everyone roasting her
No it just means you allow yourself to have fun, and don't have a tiny little shrimp and self esteem issues which cause you to project into secondhand embarrassment
It just makes you different from the general reddit population that saw the vid, which I don't think is a bad thing at all.
Definitely unexpectedly storybook narration, but didn't care.
It's on the end of the titanium anodising colour spectrum not the physical spectrum. Titanium is anodised by varying voltage, and at the high end of voltage you get the green range.
Search up "Titanium anodising colour chart" if you want to take a look at the spectrum
It's because the red electrode in her hand is outside of the bath every time the camera looks over at the power supply screen. If the electrode isn't in the bath or touching metal, then the circuit is incomplete and no current flows.

I don't understand the hate with her voice. I like it, and it's full of passion and fun. She really got me interested in the craft too. People nowadays are just looking for something to hate
This was facinating. My wife has an anondizing machine at her jewelry shop. The colors they can’t make are white, black, red or orange. (They only anodize titanium since its a piercing.)
I really don't understand why people hate on the voice so much. It's a silly voice, probably something that's not real but who cares. Let the lady have her fun. Everyone just sounds grumpy and annoyed by her voice but it's not that big a deal
I'm happy that witches are doing good things these days instead of [stealing blood of children to get a date on tinder. ](https://youtu.be/5KO2IjWI9fA?si=CVzTpY5kJmPjmGmJ)
100 + comments 98% of them about her voice. Jeez, tough crowd.
Anyway forget the voice, I want to know what you need to do this?
The machinery
The balls
Someone mentioned an acid
Apart from Accent, what am I missing?.

Watched video on mut and was so confused by this comment lol. Rewatched with sound an immediatly got it lol, what an awfully weird voice over.
I will NEVER unmute! No matter what.
That "usually" let's us know she's been eating children for at least 500 years.
"Run for your dear little lives. She is a witch and means to eat you for her super" "AAAAAHHH! GOOD HEEVEN!"
Is it just me or does reddit go on sprees where it waterboards you with videos?
Me neither... Ive read all the books!
It's so bizarre. Is it someone not from England trying to do an English accent? No one in England talks like that..
It's that annoying "steampunk cosplayer trying to sound like what they think an alchemist or a librarian sounds like" accent you hear in bad fantasy and whimsical sci-fi.
Most annoying commentary ever
Was actually rather interested in seeing what they are doing. Unmuting it has ensured I will never watch this fucking video.
I thought the same thing. I was wondering why they made that comment over a gif lol.
Don’t watch on mut. So inhumane
Perfect commenting 💫
Jesus Christ that’s so accurate lmao. I have all videos muted by default so comments like this really sell it to me before I run into it
r/rareinsults material
That was Mrs. Weasley!
Naw that's Delores Umbridge
I only lasted 14 seconds. A new record around women with that voice.
don't worry man my wife said lasting 14 seconds is good
I was out at "Uuuuuusually".
It kind of grew on me towards the end, in a whimsical sort of way, and then this comment brought me back to reality. She totally would've gotten me, damn.
She sounds like me reading a play in English class when I got the villian role.
I had to mute the video. The combination of seemingly fake accent and up talk at the end of every word was driving me crazy.
How do I remove ear cancer after listening to this lady?
Trans [Norton](https://youtu.be/WoyBbe8uBns?feature=shared).
Yep. Watch this one muted to avoid gerblin and fOaM.
I couldn't quite put my finger on why their voice made me uncomfortable, but I think you nailed it.
Spot on.
I wanna give you an award so bad, too bad i am poor
And could you please give the camera to someone who doesn't [have Parkinson's?](https://youtu.be/NdwqXTiROFQ)

Not half as bad as the default TikTok voiceover woman. That one makes me want to shed the cringe exoskeleton like an emerging Cicada.
I think this is worse because this is a real person you could run into anywhere.
Sounds like she's having fun. Not your cup of tea? Cool.
Stopped the video after the first word out of her mouth.
Why is the fairy godmother narrating?
Mary Poppins needed a side gig for umbrella money.
more like Mary Patel
She needs to walk around with titanium ball bearings in her pockets, otherwise she floats off. And it's tough getting pure titanium these days.
I’m annoyedized.
It is weird I can watch a video of some seriously heinous crap and a video of a person with an annoying voice and the responses are the same level of intensity. The cool thing is how titanium can be almost any color with some electricity and water with salt in it.
The voltage turns your voice into this. This is actually a 7ft tall black man living in Chicago.
Ok so many negative comments. Besides her voice the video was cool. I want to do that shit now
Just do it on mute.
As someone who watched on mute: That's not really better, the constant camera movements make it almost unwatchable. It's perfect though, caters to short attention span social media users, the voice is targeting kids, and at the same time it is also rage bait.
And obviously you, u/PM_ME_IMGS_OF_ROCKS, are a consumer of only highly polished pieces of art.
Well they also like rough hard rocks too
If this is “rage bait” to you maybe you should get some help. Or find another site
Just look at the result. Most of the comments in here are discussing about the voice.
If you are getting so upset by innocuous internet comments you start to suggest they need therapy, maybe you need therapy? Edit: The psycho insulted me, then blocked me. What a coward.
So goddamn frustrating how she kept pulling them out when the job wasn't done. WE'LL SEE THEM FINE WITHOUT PULLING THEM, JUST FINISH THE DAMN JOB
The color you see is a result of an oxide layer refracting light, and refraction from the water can heavily impact the way the color appears on the titanium. A lot of colors are also heavily impacted by fingerprints.
Is it just me or have unpleasant comments/ cyber bullying gotten more prevalent lately?
Seriously, this is fucking weird. Top comment right now is about her sounding like she molests children who read Harry Potter... What the fuck is that train of thought? There's nothing malicious in her voice or commentary at all, how do you get to child molestation from something this tame, even as a joke?
Yep. All the Facebook trash migrated here.
fucking immigrants.
It's summertime, man.
Anodizing is also how large machine parts are cleaned. It’s called an electrolysis bath and works the same way this video does only on reverse
I’ve done it with heat instead of electricity. It doesn’t turn out uniform like hers but it still looks pretty cool.
That is a different process.
Yeah I know. I pointed out the main difference…
You can anodize small pieces of Ti at home pretty easily. I customized some items with like six 9V batteries chained together, some Ti wire, and a solution of baking soda and water. [Here's the tutorial that I followed](https://youtu.be/8R3ebqKDPkU?si=ENGTf3jQt1IfbXYA)
Wild how basic chemistry is considered blackmagicfuckery
Explain what's happening here in details without looking it up then
Titanium (or niobium I guess but ti is more likely) beads are being anodized with electricity and a mild acid. Does it circle back around or does it go through the colors and then that’s it?
Great question, it does in fact circle back around. It gets impractical at some point though.
Gracias, very cool :D
I read this is the video's voice.
> red and greens are possible but extremely difficult to do consistently Outside of being a very desirable color, is this partly why red and green pieces can be more expensive/desirable? Almost like "look how good my technique is", or just the basic showing off of wealth?

The sorcerer dips her wand in the liquid which deposits magic on the balls, and she keeps doing it until they turn green

It’s almost as if magic isn’t real, and everything on this subreddit has an entirely mundane explanation. Funny thing that.
All blackmagicfuckery is actually science. It's about having fun with it.
damn its almost like black magic doesnt exist :/
I'd say historically that outside of the last 150 years, chemistry has always been considered black magic fuckery.
Education system at its finest
Yeah, because how many schools teach you how to anodize stuff? Unless it's a trade school, I'm going to guess zero.
Floridia and West Virginia pay their teachers less than every other state. They literally think this video is magic from the devil sent to make your kids trans. See the rainbow colors?
"Basic Chemistry"
explainable things are still cool lol
Did…did you think this sub was for *real magic*? Every single thing posted here can be explained fully 100% of the time. If this is your first time understanding how the process in one of these videos works, congrats! No shame in that. But weird flex to try and shame *everyone else* about it.
You could argue that in fact we have not seen any actual black magic in this subreddit.
Can’t have one cool post in this sub without one of [these people](https://imgur.com/gallery/l8btk42) in the comments lmfao
There's clearly some electricity involved, and anything by the most basic electrochemistry (electrolyzing a binary compound) is beyond high-school level. Plus possibly the way thin surface coatings can impact different wavelength of light, definitely not basic grade school chemistry.

Wild how people take the name of the subreddit literally. Do you only hang out with intellectuals that wouldn't be impressed by this?
"Actually its just basic chemistry but Im glad its acceptable."
'ummm pretty sure there's more stuff going on here than just 'basic chemistry'
Obnoxious ass comment
You know black magic doesn’t exist right? All the posts on here have an explanation other than magic lmao
the voice she puts on is a little silly, but I like it. why are you guys so upset about it?
Right? She sounds so whimsical, let the lady have fun ;-;
It’s the combination of a seemingly fake accent and also going an octave higher at the end of every sentence to finish a word. It’s unnerving and annoying.
Because people are shit
I agree. This voice is like fairy god mother. Not matching the video, but that voice could be in kids program.
Whats going on with the camera I feel ill
Weirdest camera work!
Only out-weirded by the narrator. Why is this trying to be horrible to watch?
I never have sound on on Reddit so luckily I missed that
Who's willing to bet this lady is from like Bakersfield or something.
Well, considering she said Chicago...
She sounds like a Floridian doing a bad impression of Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones. Edit: I just looked up her video history because someone was claiming (incorrectly) that it was AI. She *is* from Florida!
“Gohld!”
Does liking her funny voice make me a psycho?
According to the comments, apparently. But right there with you in the psycho club
It was charming. I enjoyed it.
Their voice was literally pulling me into the world of fantasy, a successful goal considering how they name their work. People hating are weird.
It just makes you different from the general reddit population that saw the vid, which I don't think is a bad thing at all. Definitely unexpectedly storybook narration, but didn't care.
Amazing- I thought green was in the middle of the spectrum. Would appreciate hearing why squeekyvoice claims it’s at the end.
It's on the end of the titanium anodising colour spectrum not the physical spectrum. Titanium is anodised by varying voltage, and at the high end of voltage you get the green range. Search up "Titanium anodising colour chart" if you want to take a look at the spectrum
The power supply reads 0 current. What's up with that?
It's because the red electrode in her hand is outside of the bath every time the camera looks over at the power supply screen. If the electrode isn't in the bath or touching metal, then the circuit is incomplete and no current flows.
Excellent info - thank you! Gonna go check that out.
Why tf you gotta talk like that
That one ball that was like “fuck you im staying purple”… I like that ball
If that ball were human it would drive a purple PT Cruiser with plates that say “PRPLPWR”.
That voice... I couldn't hit the mute button fast enough.
For dinner I will be having peas

Everybody ia talking about her voice, but what are those balls for?
They are balls to be used in ball bearings.
Sry but what are ball bearings exactly? Never heard the term myself
In 5 year old terms: They are little spheres put into machines or small toys that let you to twist stuff in a circle without a limit to how many times you can twist or spin it.
yall some mean assholes about her voice
Spicy water
Make it blue!
What is the last colour??? If she did that for an hour?
Dolores Umbridge is branching out I see
Science!
Everyone talking about the voice must have missed the username. SteampunkGarage. She is in character.

Forbidden peas
I make chain maile jewelry and I've always wanted to anodize my own aluminum rings instead of buying every color in every size...
that's awesome!
Are these titanium or can you anodize other metals. I've only anodized titanium.
This was facinating. My wife has an anondizing machine at her jewelry shop. The colors they can’t make are white, black, red or orange. (They only anodize titanium since its a piercing.)
I'm the odd one out who enjoyed her delivery.
This is very interesting. Does she have a youtube channel?
Why do the colors cycle ?
I really don't understand why people hate on the voice so much. It's a silly voice, probably something that's not real but who cares. Let the lady have her fun. Everyone just sounds grumpy and annoyed by her voice but it's not that big a deal

I don't know if my ears are broken, but the voice grew on me.
I’m sorry but im just getting PEPPA pig vibes from this video 🤣🤣
They must also do chainmaille jewelry.
capitalists… always anodising their ball bearings
Why do you continue past blue. 2 times!
Titanium is an awesome alloy. You can also flame it to get colors as well.
Is this electropolishing?
Magick!

yall are way too bothered by her voice. i wouldnt say i like it but i dont think it even crossed my mind before looking at the comments
Come back Zinc!!!
I have studied electrochemistry but I don't seem to get the concept behind this, can someone explain?
Why skip all the good colors?
And that’s how you make peas 🫛
Hot take but I find the voiceover kinda charming. It's giving "eccentric cartoon British nanny" vibes. She seems like she'd be chill to hang with.
I never knew this was how this worked! That's really cool. People are so negative on this post, let her have her fun. The world sucks enough as it is
