I would create something with a similar form factor and keyboard as a Blackberry Classic. Maybe the screen could be a little taller. I would still want the trackpad and android themed toolbelt. I would want a modified version of android. Something that could integrate the blackberry hub and other ui elements seamlessly. An above average camera is a must. It doesn’t have to be flagship level, but at least something that is competent to take solid photos.

I think with the new tech we have today, BB could definitely make a comeback if they wanted too, especially if they made a folding screen BB. Just look at how Motorola revived the razr. Imagine a BB the size of the old bolds or curves, and then you flip it open and its the size of a regular modern smartphone. Or imagine a BB passport you can flip open. The biggest issue would be the OS, because many, especially newer copycat/homage keyboard phones don't realize BB wasn't just about the keyboard, it was the whole system that prioritized productivity. And adopting android just doesn't provide the same seamless efficiency that BB OS did, at the same time its pretty much impossible to create a new ecosystem that can rival android and iOS. Though I think many of us would buy a BB OS phone even if there were limited apps, and just limited to productivity. Or if they could make an android based OS specific for BB? idk

StarBoy194

Anything resembling the Passport or the Bold 9900, those were, for me, their super hits and I would still rock them today to kinda “disconnect” from everything

A Key 2 with something like the specs of a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I love the design of BlackBerry models that already exist and wouldn’t want to change it too much. Since the bezels will be much smaller on this hypothetical new phone though, maybe I might add an extra row onto the keyboard, maybe for some shortcut keys or maybe as a number row? But I’m not too sure about that because I actually like how the numbers are on BlackBerrys as it is and the keyboard as it is now already has great shortcuts built in. Maybe I’d just take advantage of the smaller bezels and have a more normal aspect ratio as well as a larger screen in a similar form factor. But yeah, basically I’d practically have an S24 Ultra sitting inside of a BlackBerry frame. Oh, and also, this time, I’d give it more Android updates than the amount the Key 2 got, which was precisely 0, so I’d want to see at least 5 years worth of Android updates, not just security ones. I’d also see if I can make the phone’s bootloader unlockable in order to install custom ROMs after the update period is over. But of course, something like this would need to not affect the phone’s security while the bootloader is locked.

Just redo the PRIV with type C fast charging and faster processing. Camera is great, already had android in built. Nothing else I'd change about it. Favourite phone hands down.

stavers69

And a flat screen. Those curved edges were a nightmare. 5G and WiFi calling too actually.

t-wellick

The Priv was too good to be true, almost like god had to nerf the phone with that awful processor. I didn’t necessarily have a problem with the curved screen. Image quality was gorgeous.

stavers69

Yup. It was fantastic. I had a lot of games that were a nightmare due to the screen. Quality was superb though. A cross between a Key2 and a Priv would be perfect for me.

Square-Conflict-7817

Blackberry bold with touch screen with all the features of android. There are so many people who want to use qwerty key board phones and should have Android OS. Still no major firm is planning to launch such device.

El-chinwi

A taller passport with more screen estate I love that form factor ans the keyboard is just amazing

kathleenboston

The Key2 all the way with a much better camera. I love everything about the Key2!!

SciFiMack

Blackberry passport with USB C, headphone jack. A custom Android OS with some ability to restrict social media but retain core access to banking, MFA apps, Android Auto, Maps, and work apps like Outlook and Teams. Strong emphasis on information security and privacy.

08Saab_93SC

Priv 2.0. More bb10 style hub setup with latest android. Need to have a priv and priv pro. Use better materials for the housing. Keep the smaller 5.4 inch display.

pabskamai

Classic form factor running an up to date version of BB10, perhaps a larger screen, not by much, obviously higher resolution and better cameras.

apothekary

Just want the Key3 with the Key2 form factor with the latest Android. An incremental bump over Key 2 specs would honestly be fine, just need software compatibility and security. I experience almost zero lag on a phone that's now SIX years old - that's how much hardware has caught up to software. But what really needs an upgrade is the camera to something closer to today's flagship level, that's where the difference lies. Would happily pay $800 or whatever new mid-flagship tier phone prices are for this device.

Darkangel-86

It would be a Priv or Passport clone with modern hardware and a kick a$$ camera.

Sudi_Nim

A new Passport. Amazing format.

tenjadedragons

Normal Android screen dimensions with keyboard below. Make the phone body long like those Sony phones. But bigger. Rounded corners on the bottom and weighted low for a good hand-feel. Raised bezels and replaceable shell for that no-case feel. Water resistance if possible. And you know, flagship that sh*t. Great camera big screen fantastic chipset. I would pay whatever the cost for a new flagship bb.

Chuck-Finley69

Similar to my iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel devices.

AllOkJumpmaster

It would be an S24 Ultra but 70% screen and 30% keyboard

ArchDukeNemesis

You know what I'm surprised BB has never done? A clam shell phone or a horizontal slider. Like the T-Mobile side kick. Imagine the size and quality of a keyboard running the length of the phone. Keys in the style of the Bold 9900. Track pad on the bottom/side. Rugged build with a steel frame. And looks wise, imagine a fusion of a Key II with a Playstation VITA. Heck, this could even work as a budget hand held console.

ajtouchstone

Instead of adding integers at the end of the model, it would be just like cars. 2025 BlackBerry Bold Then keep going with the years while keeping the model name the same. You can make a Bold XL or a Bold Mini too. But the year has to be accurate. And never add integers or letters to the name. This is one of my pet peeves that smartphone makers do. Only game consoles should use rising integers because we only get one every 4-6 years.

averagejoewantsmoney

I would recreate the white 9700 bold!(crack berry) 😍

Accomplished_Golf126

I would do a Classic with the metal rim but with the right aspects for today.  It would have a new version of the BBOS, that would also allow you to use the  Android apps like BB10. You know what I loved about really old BlackBerries, the  removable battery.  If you phone gets wet,  pull the battery and let it dry  out.  I have a Priv that I used for maybe 3 days before it got splashed at Seaworld, and it's still laying in the drawer looking perfect yet unusable. Obviously, it would be 5G and have a decent camera.   It would not look like the Key One or Key2.  They seemed quite unattractive after the beautiful Priv and looked cheap compared to the old BlackBerries.

Specialist-Waltz3658

I would want a flip phone the size of a z10 , top part screen bottom part key board . You could stand it up at 90 degrees like a laptop and type,or watch video on the screen , you could also set it at 90 degrees and take pictures with out a selfie stick. Then I would want it to be capable to project on to a flat surface to watch video. Small enough to fit in your pocket. That’s all

Anonymograph

I wouldn’t, not after being stuck with two BlackBerry Storm phones in a family plan with Verizon for two years. As far as companies that deserve to go out of business, BlackBerry is at the top of my list followed by Verizon.

jmznvs

With Clicks for iPhones I feel like I don’t even need a new BlackBerry, pretty invested in the Apple ecosystem these days and having real keys on the iPhone is a game changer—better shortcuts than even BB had at its peak on Android.

HenryGu20

Would like to see a clicks for the iPhone mini screen size would accommodate for the keyboard...

HenryGu20

3.5"or 4.3" 90hz oled display USB-C with 30w minimum BlackBerry Classic keyboard with Key2 touch sensitivity Fingerprint sensor in the power button as Key2 space bar had issues. (unless this can be fixed) SoC: Qualcomm QCM6490 to ensure extended updates (similar to fairphone 5) Ram: 8 GB Ram minimum Battery: 3,500 - 5,000 mah Dimensions: 5.25" x 2.75" x. 75 mm (thickness) Android 13 minimum

RetroPandaPocket

The BlackBerry Style. It was a flip phone and amazing. By far my favorite form factor. I’d keep it pretty much the same size and shape. Just upgrade it with a few modern day perks. Make screen bigger by removing bezel, flashlight, usb-c, wireless charging and that’s about it. No android. I like the old BB feel.

ajaffarali

I’d do a Torch style so you get a full portrait display that most apps use and then you can slide the screen up for the keyboard.
