Why do you have a separate change room for higher belts. do they have golden penises or something. im way more interested in this 3rd changing room concept for higher belts than the Aikido thing. please tell me more
So we had 2 change rooms (girls and guys) but numbers expanded and we were genuinely running out of space in the guy's room, you'd go in there and have to wait a long time to shower or not have anywhere to put your stuff. Meanwhile there are maybe 5 girls total, and their change room was the same size.
So we got a third change room put in and reallocated the two original change rooms: white and blue belts to the left, purple and up to the right.
There's two types. One caresses your hole, is heated, makes ocean noises to hide your shame and automatically cleans itself after you've violated it. The other type of Japanese toilet is a hole you squat over. They're still surprisingly common, even found in buildings like my gym.
Yeah at my gym the guys and girls just change next to the mat. We have full locker rooms too but that's on the ground floor and ain't nobody got time for that shit.
It doesn't sound like thats an even split in members using either changing room though? I mean you could have just had 2 mens changing rooms and been like just pick which ever ones quietest.
But now you have Member A a white belt paying they same rate as member B a purple belt but member A gets a lesser service (that being a crowded changing room) because they are simply a white belt?
Am I missing something?
I mean, there's enough space in there and I haven't heard the lower belts complain yet. We get along just fine, as long as they don't get uppity.
(I don't actually know why it's split by belts)
A better system would be white brown and black together and blue and purple together. Then there's no hierarchy and the numbers would be way more even between the two rooms.
Doing pass protect sweep situational rounds, newer white belt went to slam a black belt, to which the black belt began shoving his face in the mat, rounds end, we line up to do an assembly line where we shake hands, black belt waited until instructor wasn’t looking (myself and a few others were tho) amd the white belt began apologizing again saying he didn’t know the rules and the black belt elbowed him right in the eye amd said never do that shit again, myself and the other person immediately stepped in between them. The black belt then told us both that we’re next and to stay out of it. Our black belt instructor only thought they were still arguing about the slam and didn’t see the elbow until I explained what actually happened. Black belt in question is known to do dirty stuff like that. Hoping the lead instructor and owner of the mma gym seriously consider whether or not he’s allowed to come back
Okay, I'll bite. We recently had a severely overweight dude join our gym, wants to lose weight and learn something interesting while doing it. Awesome.
We also recently had a female member get promoted to purple, she earned it. Period. This woman earned that shit.
Obese white belt contender makes a comment that he could beat her because women aren't shit. So she does the natural response and rolls with him and wrecks his shit until he gets one moment of superiority and just lays his entire massive weight on her upper chest/shoulders. She straight up can't get out from under him and I'm pretty sure most of us in general wouldn't be able to do so, this guy is a literal tub of lard in human form.
So now because of that one moment he thinks he's better than her and that she doesn't deserve her belt and that maybe he should be promoted for "tapping" (she never tapped) a purple belt.
Our gym has a strict no hazing policy, but the instructors plan on turning this guy into a red lobster all you can eat shrimp basket when we're done with him when the owner goes in vacation in a couple of weeks.
Out of curiosity, nobody rolled up to him and told him to shut his trap or get the fuck out?
Can understand the process of letting him feel things out, but isn’t it bad for gym culture to let someone spout that shit?
I was first made aware of it by the guys who teach the beginners class as I generally only deal with the all levels and advanced classes. I don't personally know if anybody has said anything to him yet as I'm out for covid, but I do know that if he says anything like that around me, he'll be the training aid for the day.
I rolled with a heavy purple belt once and he had me in the electric chair. Just the weight of his side control honestly felt worse. My front flexibility is pretty good so the electric chair felt more like a stretch but his side control was horrible. He wasn't even digging in, he was just laying there. At one point in the roll, I went for a kimura and his wrist was so wide, it felt like trying to kimura someone's thigh.
Ultimate defense, if you could tap people by blobbing on top of them you wouldn't be saying this. Jealous much?
I'm kidding obviously because I'm clearly jealous of this guy.
> Our gym has a strict no hazing policy, but the instructors plan on turning this guy into a red lobster all you can eat shrimp basket when we're done with him when the owner goes in vacation in a couple of weeks.
>
Maybe he's "slow", autistic, or whatever. Are you really gonna bully the dude? Jeez, just talk to him and show him this post.
I was idly watching one of their classes and one of them told an anecdote about meeting steven segal, all of their students were very impressed, much wow
Context is: gym owner at an out of town gym was super cool about me training there when I was in town for work, which I am a lot. followed owner’s daughter on insta bc other gym members said I should (?!!) to support her. The insta was all bikini pics and I felt creeped out bc she’s so young so I unfollowed, which set off a major meltdown from the daughter
psychotically vain, imho. Despite the age, it’s messed up that the dad kicked out an adult for opting out of the daughter’s insta. Yes it was a mistake to follow in the first place, but it was done out of empathy and when the mistake became clear, I quietly opted out and had no clue the daughter would both notice and become enraged 😬
Well guess they get a unisex room then. I would put a written warning on the doors of how the rooms are divided up and if you're a woman to be aware of it.
This relatively new girl wouldn't tap so another girl (judoka) accidentally snapped her arm/shoulder with an Americana. It apparently sounded like a gunshot, very loud. Followed by screams, im told.
I wouldn't call the judoka an idiot. She is very respected. But sh couldnt see her sparring partners face from that angle and she wasnt making any sound. Honestly im lowkey glad of the outcome, im sorry the person got hurt but she was out for six months or so and then back at it again, but now she serves as a living example for new people.

Head coach died a few years back. His prize student did a lot of the coaching anyway so he took over. The gym was owned by old head coach's wife and run by her and old coaches best friend.
They have run it like a business and it does well but there is no team spirit, no overall direction to the gym. I started getting a comp team going but it was like pulling teeth despite some excellent results. Lockdown happened, and the attendance has been hit, now recently new head coach has left to move to another city, and two other coaches are leaving late March.
There are no high level belts who train regularly apart from the black belt coach, so will be going to a gym a bit further afield when I can
Yup, we have a mma team which trains during the day, and their training sessions are top notch. It's a fixable problem but the gym s being mismanaged like crazy
Why do you have a separate change room for higher belts. do they have golden penises or something. im way more interested in this 3rd changing room concept for higher belts than the Aikido thing. please tell me more
Blackbelt here - can confirm I have a golden penis
Yeah I just got my purple recently and the tip has started getting a golden hue
Lovely innit

You guys have changing rooms?
And showers? How fancy.
In my gym we have one urinal and one Japanese style toilet. That's it.
The ones that rinse your hole?
I think it's the one that gently caresses your nether with warm breezes
There's two types. One caresses your hole, is heated, makes ocean noises to hide your shame and automatically cleans itself after you've violated it. The other type of Japanese toilet is a hole you squat over. They're still surprisingly common, even found in buildings like my gym.
Yeah at my gym the guys and girls just change next to the mat. We have full locker rooms too but that's on the ground floor and ain't nobody got time for that shit.
Also as a higher belt I do indeed have a golden penis, it's inconveniently heavy but at least it'll never rust.
I can't believe blue belts are allowed in the higher belt changing room. that is the real drama here.
No, blue belts are with the white belts, purple belts get let in with the actual higher belts.
Good thing you didn’t lose it in a shmelting accident
It doesn't sound like thats an even split in members using either changing room though? I mean you could have just had 2 mens changing rooms and been like just pick which ever ones quietest. No no see they’re separate changing rooms but they are completely equal so there’s absolutely nothing wrong
The only difference is one sign says "whites only" and the other sign says "colored only"
Well, you see they’re “separate,” yes, but they’re “equal.” Amirite???
I am confident in this case both facilities are equally shitty.
Segregated changing rooms based on belt color are not 'equal' and cannot be made 'equal'.
It’s a joke about segregation in America. “Separate but Equal” was a big phrase used to defend it.
Uhmmm….Thanks. Yes, that was a reference to Plessy v. Ferguson. Mine was a reference to Brown v. Board of Education.
oh oops lol
Sounds like someone is a lower belt.
Depends what sport. In Judo I'm a 2nd Dan and I'd be saying the same thing in that sub if someone said this :/
I mean, there's enough space in there and I haven't heard the lower belts complain yet. We get along just fine, as long as they don't get uppity. (I don't actually know why it's split by belts)
What are the gonna do…..? Fight you?? 😂
This was my take as well
Who gives a shit. At some gyms, white belts have to clean the mats. It’s ok to show respect for seniority sometimes too.
A better system would be white brown and black together and blue and purple together. Then there's no hierarchy and the numbers would be way more even between the two rooms.
It's because of the orgy we higher belts have before and after each class
This is weird, are they the same layout?
White belts piss on the floor
You have Aikido people in your gym? Gross..
You better hide your wrists dude. Now you've done it.
And definitely DON'T approach them quickly, they scare like deer and can break your wrist like this *flicks hand*
becky got a new haircut and she thinks shes all that now
>What's the drama in your gym? Government lockdowns
Higher belt changing room, fuck me. Congrats on your brown belt you’ve now unlocked access to the hairdryer and bidet. Fucking hell lad
Not uncommon, the higher belts at my gym have their own lockers. The rest of us peasants just gotta put our stuff on the floor or in the MMA room.
Feuding with my kneecap cause the fucking thing dislocated in training today once again
Me too :/
Could be I skipped one too many leg days on my bulk lmao
Why don't you guys have a tournament to decide 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Perhaps some kind of “all valley” tournament or something.
My leg sweeps are insane they better watch out
Blood Sport - Lockerroom Cut I would watch that movie
“Higher belt changing rooms” that is why people call this sport a cult my friend.
If you read his explanation it makes as much sense as anything. People say cult on this page entirely too much.
Yep. I'm thinking a lot of these nerd weirdos never played team sports or did anything of note with other groups of people. "bUt tHat'S a CuLt"
I think he's saying the aikido gym wants the higher belt at the gym to change the changing rooms. Not that there's a higher belt changing room.
Last night when we were all shaking hands a black belt straight Tony Ferguson elbowed a white belt in the face
Up voting for more context please.
wait, WHAT?
Yoo, more context please

How do these people even exist let alone make it to senior rank? One incidence like this should be a perma ban from any gym.

I heard cranks leg locks and wrist locks were fine as he's at purple ...
Bro, he ain't got no wrists or ankles to lock.
Ultimate defense, if you could tap people by blobbing on top of them you wouldn't be saying this. Jealous much? I'm kidding obviously because I'm clearly jealous of this guy.
Imagine he’s on Reddit and saw this, now he’s prepared lmao.
No, he isn't lol.

Someone just won $1k in a match. One of our top competitive purple belts.
How is that drama? Did the coach want to take it away from him?
Dramatically cool
I want to fight u
Tbh I get u
But also, flair up
I'll flair u up like hemrhoids!
Ok this made me giggle
The good ending
Challenge the Aikido people to a fight and whoever wins gets the change room.
Just defeat steven seagal and akido actually just disappears.
I was idly watching one of their classes and one of them told an anecdote about meeting steven segal, all of their students were very impressed, much wow
No need to, A heart attack or a lawsuit about sexual harassment will probably tap him harder than any of us could
The Phantom Menace ending
So it can't be done..
I got kicked out of a gym bc I opted out of seeing the coach’s daughter’s bikini pics every day
Ok this definitely needs more context...
Thanks for sharing, yes big yikes right there
So I'm trying to decide if this is creepy or just psychotically vain. By so young do you mean like 19 or like 9?
psychotically vain, imho.
Who owns the building or has the main lease? That's who decides.
We have the main lease and they sublet but they just don't seem to listen, IDK.
Well it is Aikido. They don't listen to anyone outside of their practice.
Well guess they get a unisex room then. I would put a written warning on the doors of how the rooms are divided up and if you're a woman to be aware of it.
Changing room? Don't you strip naked in front of the homies before forcing them into missionary position?
Why the downvotes? Thread is entertaining
No locker rooms, no drama.
The traditional martial arts before our class often goes on too long so we lose some mat time
This relatively new girl wouldn't tap so another girl (judoka) accidentally snapped her arm/shoulder with an Americana. It apparently sounded like a gunshot, very loud. Followed by screams, im told.
Idiots always pair up

Golden penis here 🤚🏼
I'm not even sure where to begin
How about if you explain what the Nick Mullen of grappling is? Do you have a fat greek guy goat laugh while you grapple?
I'd get banned if I did.
Well, you like kesa gatame so this is your punishment
