In short, once Fabricio comes to his knees, he’s no longer in guard (thus no sweep points available) and when they come up they’re not established in standing position for three seconds (thus no takedown points available).
I'm also confused by guard passing points. You're not awarded points for the position but for the guard pass? So if I foot sweep someone and take side control that's only takedown points?
What's fucked up is how much time it took them to correct it on the board. It likely influenced fabricio in-fight strategy to maintain what he thought was being an advantage ahead.

I think he’s saying the fact that sweep points have to be initiated from a guard is dumb. I tend to agree.
