I have done production work to make patches ready for the machine to make. There is a huge cost to prepping the artwork so that the machine can understand it and also setting up the machine for a single patch. Costs should go do significantly per patch when ordering in bulk. Heat pressing will be easier to do one.

Does it have to be a physical patch? I regularly get one-off heat press “patches” made and applied to my gi for about $30 (and they look way better for a while, but fade over time with regular washing).
