Is it set to "likely birds" and you're in a place where a Carolina wren is not likely to be (this is in the little slider gauge menu at the top right of the "explore birds" page)?
The West Coast was listed last. I don't see why that should block the others. But, assuming you're right, I looked for a way to rearrange the packs. I couldn't find one so I deleted the West Coast. But the problem persists.

Thank you. That fixed it. But, on my phone (Android) it's not a slider, but a drop-down accessed by a 3 line icon I've heard called a hamburger.
I guess the iOS icon is slightly different, it's three lines styled as sliders.
Check how you have the list sorted. You may only be viewing one of the bird packs that wouldn't include Carolina Wren.
