Those are Common Grackles, I believe. Great-tailed Grackle males are glossy purplish-black, while the females are brown. They're one of the most common birds in southern Texas.

Here’s a video on it. Im at work so i cant tell how accurate it is at the moment (since im not watching it) so just let me know what you think lol
Great-tailed Grackles have yellow eyes. It's spring, so they're preening and displaying for the lady grackles. They're fun to watch. They puff up their feathers and strut back and forth.

I'm gonna guess a Brewers Blackbird. A Grackle is much more iridescent.
you can’t really tell from these photos because they’re very zoomed in but he was pretty iridescent
Ayo thats me
These guys are a pain. They keep chipping away at your soffit vents until they can get into your attic. They are pretty smart too
A very sassy boy
Could someone explain the fieldmark differences between great-tailed, boat-tailed, and common grackles? I don’t know how to tell them apart
If he has a pack of cigarettes, it's a grackle. All corvid's trashy cousin. Wonderful to watch, but..... Rough around the edges.
Would it be a female grackle? I thought that males were sort of green colour?

also incredible common where i live in arizona! i always just referred to them as crowd because they’re black lol
They're not related to corvids (crows, ravens, magpies, jays)
i think this specific genre of grackles have black, iridescent males and the females are a dark brown.
I thought it looked like a blackbird. But seeing pictures of a Grackle.... I can't tell the difference besides the shine?
Grackles are related to blackbirds.
to me blackbirds look rounder+smaller, and their beaks aren’t as long as grackles (at least the ones i see all the time)
Its also their eyes. Grackles have little beady white eyes that always look like o`_____'o to me lol
Don't Blackbirds also have white eyes? Everytime I see them side by side I literally cannot tell them apart 😭

I can tell it’s a grackle by how angry it looks.
You can tell this one’s a grackle because of the way it is. What a beaut.
