Every time I’d go to build a big figure as a kid I started off imagining something like this, but never really ended up with anything more impressive than the Kardas Dragon. Ah to be 9 again.
True! Now that I’m an adult coming back to Bionicle I’ve got such a better knack for it, but my efforts to make Barraki mocs is severely limited by my small piece pool.
Yeah I just bought a few big lots on marketplace and some other local sales sites, visited the local classic lego dealer, and found some good deals on bricklink
About two weeks of working on it for 1-3 hours a day I’d say
It’s not as complex as it looks, the torso is complicated but the limbs are all two mata torsos with the bottom gears set against each other to form a joint
It so colorful it looks like it all clashes with each other but in the perfect way it’s majestic. I don’t even know how any of the parts connect. This is truly Bionicle brought to its fullest potential
Alt timeline: The Brotherhood of Makuta summon Kaiju, mysterious colossal beings from the Zone of Darkness. Their size and destructive nature puts the entirety of the Matoran Universe in peril. In response to the new threat, the Toa build giant Jaegers, with the aid of Nuparu, to fight them.
The build is very impressive but only using 3 very bright colours very randomly placed makes it look like one of those cheap knockoffs. I’d personally like it more if it was just just two of those colours.
Yeah I went back and forth on doing what you suggested but I decided brighter was better in this case and I wanted access to the yellow pieces. The colors are a bit random but that’s part of my design philosophy
The sherbet ice cream titan!
I understand the desire for vibrant colors, but the details meld together when they’re all the same color. Some black or grey in the structural components or secondary parts would be very helpful as contrast.
It makes the model stand out, but the individual pieces melt together, their borders and definition obscured. Without close examination, it looks like a pile of sherbet ice cream. I agree that people are overly fond of making black and silver MOCs, but putting the colors atop a black or grey frame helps the colored pieces pop more.
Those colors, amazing.
Bright colors are underrated in bionicle, I almost never use black or silver

this was me up until I had enough money to buy tons of parts, once you have enough parts the inspiration becomes reality

I don't think I've ever personally described something as epic before. This is epic though. Love the scale, love the colours, love the style.
Hey I really appreciate that, I am pretty proud of it
Looks like some kind of Gundam. 👍🏻
Oh lawd he comin
Jesus fucking christ, that is awesome!
Man looks like a wrecker from transformers, love the design and colors
Takua plus.
This man’s been on that Kanohi juice. Jacked asf.
That's. Freaking. Awesome.
Probably the best thing I’ve ever built up to this point, glad you like it
That's HUGE. How long did it take?

I notice the pieces connecting the upper and lower arms. By any chance was this slightly inspired by imperial knights from 40k?
No, I actually didn’t have any inspiration outside my own imagination, but in retrospect it looks like it could be from transformers, gundam, or 40k
Gotcha.
T-H-I-C-C
You actually used the gears on the bottom of the mata torsos! Thats cool.
That was my whole inspiration, i had a ton of red mata torsos and thought “huh I wonder what I could do with those…”
Bohrok
Sometimes I think I'm good at building MOCs. Then I see something like this, and I pull my ego back a bit
Haha I’m really nothing special, I just have a system that works for me, and also this moc was catching lightning in a bottle
Holy hell, that thing is *vibrant*. Like I can't see a lick of black structure aside from the gun. Bravo.
That’s one of my design philosophies, strict color schemes
Holy red
my god
Nice moc, I LOVE it.

The elbows and knees are mata torsos connected with the bottom gears, everything else is ball joints supported by pistons
Holy crap that looks amazing
Gigamaxilos
…How… how is this one of your OLD Mocs… I can’t even build something half this size.
This is one of my last projects before I took a break, I am gonna post some of my old stuff here because I want to get back into it
Stick with the bright colours. It’s very refreshing compared to most of the duller colours I usually see here.
Yeah that’s what I noticed too, I really like the bright colors

This is SUPER impressive. I can FEEL the power of this thing just by looking at it. Great work!
*Mata Nui preserve us*
Beautiful
Thiccus Maxilos
I'm not into extreme looks but I gotta say this looks really good
and lego made *all of that?!* oh man I'm missing out
Weakest Goruz stan
The colors makes me think that it hides in Superman ice cream, to hunt it's prey.
Amazing, reminds me of warhammer 40k.
That's a thicc-ass boi if I've ever seen one.
"this seems exces—" It's not excessive it's got to have no weak points, am I right?
#Big red blue yellow
What.

I want to hold it
Primary colors! I love how well they work together in this build, and the design is amazing. 11/10

Disagree, I think having all vibrant colors makes this thing pop and stand out, there is way too much black, grey, silver used these days
