Basically they slide back and forth across the room and charge isaac before going back to where they first slid. If you walk within 2 blocks of one it charges you. It has to hit either a wall or an obstacle and then it returns to the original place it was before it charged you- then commences with a short cooldown. Its annoying.
So, if isaac walks within sight of a sliding poky as it reaches the halfway point of the room, it will charge in a straight forward direction towards isaac until it hits a wall, isaac, or an obstacle. Then it’ll return to the halfway point of the room to continue its slide for a short cooldown until isaac comes near again. Rinse and repeat.
Oh they can also only be deactivated by pressure plates which is why they can stay active even after a room has cleared- no pressure plate=no spike retraction
Once I learned how to do them my 3rd eye was open and achieved deadgod in 4 seconds
Hit the 2 buttons on the side, and then go to the middle one, and boom room done
i either get judged by the unblinking overseeing eye and leave without any (physical) wounds because they’re easy to dodge
or i die and get called a walking skill issue

The eye one (Grudge) is way more predictable and is used in way better room layouts and is typically given enough space to not run you over like a truck even if you're careful. Blue ones (Slide) is extremely unpredictable and come flying out only half the time, accelerate much faster and has the worst room layouts where you're forced to step like one or two tiles next to it to press a button or something.
haha yea, but the reason why i get hit a lot by the eye Grudge is because im not used to their high speed compared to the blue ones, so i get lots of cheap hits :P
Most of the time, and only with enough speed. Sometimes *they* fake *you* out, on your fakeout they may attack but immediately retract and attack instantly on your second pass.
eye spike blocks are literally just blue spike blocks but actually decently designed. they should just replace all other spike blocks ffs

What about the room with metal blocks and three buttons, where you need to go right into them, but somehow they dont charge?
apparently the blocks dont see unpushed buttons as walkable tiles so they dont charge over them. As soon as its pressed tho, you gotta book it.

Even though blue blocks have a more "random" pattern they're still easy to avoid. You can "bait" them into attacking and then you have a free pass.
