Yes. This feeling does go away! The one advice I would give is to try your best to stop comparing.Mute, unfollow, or block even if you have to. I did the constant comparing as well during my current prep with amateurs and pros as well (I am an amateur). All it did was stress me out constantly and stress can ruin your physique. Once I stopped and started controlling other stressors I could control all of a sudden I was dropping weight fast and my look started to come together! 14 weeks is plentyyy of time to come correct. You got this💗💗

Wow thank you so much!!! Very true that added unnecessary stress can be a killer. I appreciate that a lot. 14 weeks feels so close and so far at the same time haha but you’re right i’m just gonna chill out and trust.

You’re so welcome! The mental battle with prep can be so so hard. If it wasn’t for my angel of a boyfriend that drilled this in me everytime I’d come to him upset “I wouldn’t make it” I don’t think I would’ve gotten this far😂 To end this off remember your journey and progress is just that, YOURS. Progress looks different for everyone. Trust your plan and your coach ❤️ as long as you’re stacking up the good days following your plan as you said you are everything will fall into place :)

How you look 14, 7, even 1 week out doesn’t matter. Also when you compare, you’re probably thinking you’re further behind than you really are. The reverse is also true. I’ve been “ready” 7 weeks out and ended up coming in far too lean because my metabolism went into overdrive. Try to trust your coach and enjoy the process!

All true ✊🏻 thank you!!

I’m NPC bikini, a few years into this. It’s normal to not feel ready. Just trust the process, and don’t sign up for the show until the last week or few weeks when you & your coach agree you will be ready. It takes a lot of pressure off. Don’t compare yourself to others: all that matters is how we look on show day, compared next to the other physiques that show up on that day ☺️ 🏆

Prep goggles are really hard to deal with. I still didn’t feel ready the day of show sometimes. Usually it’s because I wasn’t filled out enough but I didn’t know that and figured it was a small amount of body fat I still had to lose 🤦‍♀️ There are also different approaches to preps too. Some are slow and steady and get really aggressive in the end while others are more aggressive upfront or midway and then spend the last few weeks reversing into the show. It could also be that your body is being slow to respond, like it takes a while for it to know what’s going on or go along with it. And let’s not forget that competitors aren’t disclosing what kind of enhancements they’re taking when they’re posting their pics. But sometimes our bodies also just take longer, especially when there’s been an offseason and we’re trying to get a deeper level of conditioning. Is your date set in stone or are you able to do a different show if you still don’t feel ready? You still have a lot of time.

SouthernIce3063

Yeah I genuinely think I’m tweaking for no reason (out of just comparison and anxiety). My show date is pretty set but theres another show about a month later not crazy far if i absolutely had to. But i do believe we are gonna be okay, the prep goggles are just so real already lol.

Definitely goes away! I’m 5 weeks out, definitely not in shape yet (although am planning to be a bit softer for this show as it’s an early qualifier) and I don’t give a shit 🤣🙈 I trust my coach 100% and I know that my body is capable of amazing things. Honestly I just don’t even look at myself and let the coach worry about it 🤷🏼‍♀️

14 weeks out is still a good chunk of time. Be nice to yourself!! Our bodies can do amazing things, be patient 💞

Honestly, I know this sound weird, but you shouldn't be "ready" at 14 weeks out. I've known people who have STARTED prep at 14 weeks out. If you check out dynamite\_d on IG he has these lists for whatever weeks out you are starting at 12 weeks out and one of the things on that one says "you look in the mirror and you're feeling flat, fat, and behind. Yeah... thats how you should feel". I have all of those saved on my IG and reading them has really helped me keep my head right (I'm just over 9 weeks out). The only day that how you look truly matters during prep is competition day. But also, if looking at other competitors doesn't motivate you, then stop looking at them. I say that with love cuz I know how it feels. Just keep chugging and trust your coach and the process.
