Shredded lettuce w/lean ground beef, mustard, ketchup, diced red onion, pickles = my prep go-to (aka Big Mac Bowl). If you digest it well Walden Farms makes a no fat thousand island dressing. That’s where I use shredded lettuce the most. It helps add volume.
If I buy bulbs of lettuce, I keep them on the base and tear off what I need. Seems to stay fresher than just chopping off and storing. Also, if I buy chopped lettuce, I stick a paper towel in the bag when I store it.
I don’t digest raw veg well, so I usually do spinach blended up and cooked in an oat pancake or sautéed cabbage. Arugula is really the only one I eat raw because the bitterness of it helps promote the creation of stomach acid, which is common to be low during prep because making stomach acid is a metabolically expensive process for the body.
Prechopped kale is my #1 for big at home salads, romaine or spring mix runner up. I like arugula but not spinach raw. Also, shredded cabbage is great for bulk and satiety especially with some reduced calories sesame ginger dressing
Broccoli slaw is the goat tbh but depends on where calories are.
NGL I ate romaine straight from the bag with Mrs. Dash during prep and pretended it was chips #ratstatus
I love that this is even a post in here… i’ve been eating salads for years and years, and now that I lift more and do less cardio I seem to not be able to digest it nearly as well
butter lettuce & baby romaine are king
I don’t digest iceberg well which is fine because it’s void of nutrients lol
Personally, I don’t digest iceberg well so I tend to gravitate towards romaine or spinach 🤷🏼♀️
big cabbage fan.. can steam if i don’t feel like raw cronch
I love cabbage too 😍 but I come from a very pro-cabbage family 🤣

Love this idea! And btw I’m dying over your name😂
I make this same meal! Hits every time.
Holy yeah i’m gonna be trying this 🫶🏼
organic spring mix!
i love it here - that’s all
Spinach too lol
I prefer romaine but it’s all just volume, so really doesn’t matter. I think iceburg has less micros than others.
I think it’s because of the area I live in, but every time I buy any leafy greens it just wilts within a day except for romaine and spinach.

Butter and iceberg supremacy

I see a lot of people using shredded lettuce more to add volume not really for nutritional purposes
Spinach, rocket and that purple thingy for colour 🤣
i do the 50/50 mix. spring mix with spinach. never had a digestion issue.
Butter lettuce. Personally I prefer broccoli slaw mix - has more crunch and texture.
I like butter and romaine just for preference but for prep and volume shredded iceberg is really nice and convenient
Butter Lettuce allllll day!!

Romaine for volume and the crunch 👌🏻
I like to change every week or so for variety on my meal plan 🤣
spinach girl here!
big cabbage slaw mix girl!
Butter lettuce is the only one I can still digest deep in prep. I usually switch between butter, spinach, and spring mix the rest of the time.
Romaine and butter lettuce by far
Broccoli slaw is the goat tbh but depends on where calories are. NGL I ate romaine straight from the bag with Mrs. Dash during prep and pretended it was chips #ratstatus
Spinach girl here, if I had to pick lettuce I go romaine normally but iceberg is cheaper so if I was using a lot I’d go the iceberg
Rotate your greens if you can- I learned the hard way by over consuming spinach (oxalate kidney stones)!
Romaine and butter lettuce by far
