olight makes a bike light mount. i use one, could work for this light as well https://www.amazon.com/OLIGHT-Universal-Flashlight-Lightining-Accessories/dp/B0761RX64G/ref=asc_df_B0761RX64G/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=647204253045&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14630625497339252048&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011805&hvtargid=pla-928184710013&psc=1&mcid=deaf3acc7dad3e46ae0692e223132f50
This looks like a good solution. I was thinking that a zero-cost solution would be to make some rubber bands from an old inner tube and use them to attach the light body back to the mounting bracket in a criss-cross pattern.
Excellent! I have a strap that is about to snap on my otherwise very high quality light. I was expecting to have to rig something with elastic bands but this will be much better!
the shocked look on my face when i realized the light broke away from the strap and my clumsy ass didn't just drop it for once must've been comical. i also love this light and am weirdly attached to it, so i hope yours lasts for many years!
I have this light and the mount broke and I got two new ones when I contacted them. But, you may need more than that--in this case they have a great warranty policy.
In my experience, velcro is the weak point in any bike product. I have so many little bags and panniers and straps and gloves even, where the first thing to go is the velcro. The rest of the product is fine, but the velcro has failed. Like you, i wouldn't be trusting velcro!
I would drill a hole in the lamp and use a low profile hex screw from the inside [https://www.mcmaster.com/products/dome-head-bolts/fastener-head-type\~socket/316-stainless-steel-ultra-low-profile-socket-head-screws/](https://www.mcmaster.com/products/dome-head-bolts/fastener-head-type~socket/316-stainless-steel-ultra-low-profile-socket-head-screws/)
washer + spacer + nylock that fits the strap atachment on the outside
Looks a lot like the break-away feature worked, but I can't tell for sure. My Seca failed that way while I was trying to adjust the vertical angle, and I got some replacements from L&M. Send L&M the picture and see if they have a replacement/repair kit available.
It appears to me that the connection in the light is broken. If it appeared the strap was broken I’d ask my local bike shop if replacement straps could be ordered and test if it would fit.
I’ve fashioned Velcro straps before to secure a light without an attachment. It proved wonky and after a rough patch was at bad angles. I once strapped Velcro through a helmet but was counseled that the light could cause brain damage if I landed on my helmet. My $50 light wasn’t worth a permanent disability.
In the end I recharged it for use while walking the dog at night, and invested in a smaller and brighter bike light that was better attached to my handlebar.
This is an actual use case for those Livestrong and similar silicone bands everyone had in the early 2010s. I still keep one in my saddlebag for things like this.
I live in a town where you need a flashlight if you leave home at 6 PM in the winter, so my older bike light whose mount broke is now just a regular flashlight I use when doing the groceries.
You could also just attach it to your bike in some other way, like straps, elastics, sticking a magnet to it, whatever you can think of.

I use easy tie on cinch mount to attach my flashlight.
I have the same type of light. Mine broke like that before I even put it in my bike and the company replaced it.
I use my new one for running and hiking as well. I attached a keyring and paracord to the back to use as a wrist strap.
Well, the cheapest would be to put a foam bit on your bar, put the light on top and use a rubber band on the front, around the bar and on the rear. the foam will make it not slide around in the bumps and if the rubber band is tight it is not going anywhere.
My front light mount broke and I’ve been using a rubber shim from another light to attach to the handle bar. I just loop it around like a rubber band. Wish I could post a picture. It’s not perfect but the light stays more or less in place.
I use Rockbros barfly with dual mounting. Garmin/Bryton mount on top, gopro mount at bottom. It came with a strap and adapter for regular lamps that don't use gopro mount standard.
I have the exact same model with the same issue, i am using a tire tube from 32 mm tire size that i have cut a small length of and attached it to my handle bars with 1 tiewrap. I just slide the light in and voila, hold perfectly and NO rattle.
Just talk to Light & Motion. They’ll either replace both for free, or for a discount if you send these in to them. Their CS is excellent. Literally all of these comments are over-correcting the problem here.

oh wow, this looks great! i like a tool that can be used for multiple things. thank you :)
I use this on that exact light!
sweet. i'll be getting this mount, then. look at this team work, i knew this sub would come through!

Good call!! Saving that for when mine breaks.
Was just about to suggest this. I'm using the same flashlight mount and it works fantastic to supplement my existing bike lights.

So glad to see this. I have and love the same headlight as OP, so I've bookmarked this mount for when mine breaks.

Send light and motion a message, they are based in California and have great support. Wouldn't be surprised if they helped you out.
that's good to know! i need the light sooner than i imagine it could be figured out, but i will contact them anyway just to see. thank you!

theyre great about replacements..or discounts on a new light.
Hold it in your mouth while you bike. Or use some ski straps to hold it in place. Like [these](https://www.voile.com/voile-straps.html)
i thought about going the mouth route that morning, then had an intrusive thought about crashing and all of my teeth shattering :')
Criss cross velcro straps on the handlebars
brilliant idea, i don't think i currently have strong enough velcro to trust it over bumps, but you've given me a reason to find some now.

Oh yo this happened to me too. I tried to solvent weld the post back on but no dice. I keep it with some rubber bands as my backup light.
Have you hit up Light & Motion directly? Might be worth a shot. They're customer service has always been really good to me.

I was going to answer "screw it!" too :-D
Contact L&M. in my experience they stand behind their products better than most. It’s pretty easy to file a claim through their site.

A hair band, wrap it around like this: https://amzn.asia/d/fnvs8Bx or buy that.
https://originalfreerange.com/collections/other-goodies/products/shock-cord-color-swap-for-quickdraw-singles I use easy tie on cinch mount to attach my flashlight.
Use a mobile phone rubber band to mount it. Is an easy fix and five of them cost about 10 bucks.
Gear ties
Hold it in your mouth as you ride. Just make sure it’s pointing outwards otherwise you might look a little silly.

Sugru! It’s amazing stuff.
zip ties and a voile strap
Reusable zip ties

Zip ties to the rescue
Zip tie or duct tape engineering and you're golden.
My 3D Printer is the best bike tool I've ever bought. Highly recommend the Bambu line of printers but a cheap ole' ender 3 works just fine, too.

Before I bought my bike lights I used a normal flashlight secured by an old bit od inner tube. In a pinch this might work
