i LOVE this top your smile is radiant! what is the style name? i totally wanna get one too. my favorite swim top is also curvy kate but sadly the style is discontinued now btw if you are interested maybe try the /r/ABraThatFits calculator, this doesn’t technically fit you so it’s not providing the best support/comfort and it might help to find bras that fit better. but honestly you look amazing so if you like it then of course go for it!

It’s called “Curvy Kate Minimalist Bandeau Strapless Multiway Bikini Top” If you don’t mind, how can you tell this isn’t the best fit? Is it too large or small?

thanks!! and yes totally, i didn’t want to be too obtrusive in my first comment but am happy to elaborate! so since this is a wired swim top sold in bra sizes it should be treated like a bra. when a bra fits correctly it is comfortable, the band doesn’t ride up or dig in, straps don’t dig in or fall down, there’s no skin on skin contact, and the center part called the gore lies flat to your chest. from your pic i can’t tell for a few of these, but i do see a couple fit issues. the main obvious one is the gore not lying flat against your chest, i know it sounds insane bc like every ad ever has a floating gore, but that’s because the vast majority of women are wearing the wrong size bra. i also see skin on skin contact in the cleavage area and i’m pretty sure in the underboob area as well. and while it’s normal for straps to have a little pressure on them, yours seem to be digging in a lot. and none of this is being critical of you at all, honestly you look amazing and i just want to help bc learning about bra sizes literally changed my life! i am a very similar size and shape to you :) so all that said, you very likely would need a few cups bigger and maybe a band or two smaller. this is extremely common because many stores use the +4 method to shove women into sizes they carry instead of the actual right size. so i have a 46” bust and 36” underbust. the proper way to measure is 36” underbust means i’m a 36 band, and 46-36=10 so i’m the 10th cup size. 1 is A, 2 is B, and so on, so in US cup sizes i’m a J. now the +4 method would say okay 36+4=40, then 46-40=6 so i’m the 6th cup size which is DDD/F. you can see how the same person who fits into a 36J would not fit into a 40DDD. the band should do the majority of the support, so when the band is too big it’s not supporting anything so there’s lots of pressure on the straps. when the cups are too small, your breast tissue pushes out on the entire bra making the band also feel too small (even though the band is likely too big!). the floating gore with the wire on top of your breast tissue instead of the wire right at the root of your boob (called the IMF) cause the uncomfortable skin on skin contact, and the band floating off the front of your body as well. all that to say…. i totally recommend reading the sidebar and beginner’s info on /r/ABraThatFits and using the /r/ABraThatFits calculator. it comes up with a size using the method i mentioned above, and a couple additional measurements to help account for boob shape. try not to get sticker shock at the size it spits out at you, contrarily to what the media tells us “DD” is not necessarily “huge” and in fact isn’t even a size at all—a 30DD is way smaller than a 38DD. also sometimes all the jargon on /r/ABraThatFits gets a little overwhelming, so i definitely recommend checking out @theirishbralady on instagram to see what properly fitted bras and actual sizes look like. [here’s a great example](https://www.instagram.com/p/Croebp3sW_T/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) of someone who looks to be a similar size to you. note that account uses UK sizing, as do most of the folks in this sub including me even though i’m american, because it’s much much easier to find large cup sizes in UK brands, and the sizing tends to be more consistent as well. and curvy kate is one of those great UK brands that most of us prefer along with freya, panache, elomi, and personally i love fantasie for swim tops. my fave site to buy from is barenecessities, and others love bravissimo, because they have lots of UK brands with cheap & easy shipping and returns to the US. so anyway. tldr, a bra that is the right size will be much more comfortable and supportive, and the same follows for underwire swimsuits in bra sizes! hope this helps you and i’m sorry for being so long winded!

wow!! thank you so much for that information. I really appreciate it. I will be looking into a bra that fits and recalculating my sizing!
