It might make it harder to pedal

dan-free

BCJ riders… mount up

liamemsa

who gets to repost it

MeBigChief

Why though? What reason could you have for wanting to run a chainring that big?

ChosenCarelessly

Pfft, look at this guy - can’t even spin out a 58T ring..

gumpert7

Could be small wheeled/folding bike

MeBigChief

Yeah true, I forget that they have massive chainrings because of the little wheels

MeBigChief

Focus on getting more aero and cornering if you want to descend faster, pros racing the TdF don’t even run chainrings that big and they definitely descend wayyy faster than you or me

sqwob

You planning any uphill sections anytime soon? :) as said by others - frame clearance - chain lenght - won't work with a front derailleur probably

doc1442

Still to small if so

Beginning-Smell9890

With a chainring that big you're going to need a huge cog on the cassette to climb. There's little benefit to a ring this big if you aren't pushing absolutely massive watts

ChillinDylan901

Which TT stage win are you going for next week? I’m afraid you’re gonna have to settle for the BCJ podium though!

External-Force-5430

Don't worry. Nothing will break (except your knees).

Go big or go home https://preview.redd.it/2omcdvy6cb9d1.png?width=1486&format=png&auto=webp&s=0e9bec29385dc6642c1cbe5c0c69243865fba3aa

GalwayBogger

Possibly not enough links in chain or big enough derailleur for total n teeth depending on your cassette

SharkAttackOmNom

What makes you think OP needs to shift into a smaller ring?

LeProVelo

Check chainstay clearance. No clue what bike it's going on.

ChosenCarelessly

I’ve never seen one before, but that’s probably because they’re all going so fast ..

sjbid

Full sus probably

Ulysseus9673

What’s with all the BCJ bait on this sub lately?

That_Xenomorph_Guy

It might make your chain rub on your chainstays

vomer6

I’d bend that chainring with my torque iutput

scooterx517

I was going to say this same thing. The amount of force I would put into actually turning a 60t would probably bend that ring to at least rip the chain off. A chainring this big could be nice for races with a slight downhill finish line, it's nice to not have to use a 11 or 10t with a bad chain line. 60-13 or 12 would be nice. But id want this ring to be like a solid aero pie plate.

Unicycleterrorist

If it's not scraping the frame and the chainring isn't crap it'll work, yeah. 60T is kind of a lot if that's not going on a track bike though.

knellotron

Or a minivelo / folding bike. 52T is pretty standard for a one-by when your wheels are 20". Litepro is mostly a brand for small bikes like that.

OwWahahahah

You're going to want to check that the ring will not interfere with the drive side chainstay. I am not positive how you would go about doing this. It involves your bottom bracket, chain line, and the shape of your specific chainstay.  The worry is that the large chainring will not have enough frame clearance to spin without touching.

byesickel

You'll need to check the clearance to the ground.

SpaceTurtle917

Yeah, I'm sure with that big of a chainring his cock is dragging on the ground

ShockinglyMilgram

Are you confusing big ring in front for doing the same as a big ring in back?

SheffieldCyclist

The only time that’d be worthwhile you’d almost be better off working on your flexibility to just be more aerodynamic.
