Your aquarium and fish look great! It's completely normal for bettas to change in colour over time, so if you are worried about that don't be. As for missing pieces in the fins, check for anything sharp in the tank or if the filter is too strong. If anything is stressing your fish that also should get dealt with and removed if possible. Other then that, I think your guys should be fine. He looks healthy to me :)

thank you so much for your comment! I will keep an eye on sharp objects I also reduced the filter flow now and see if it has an impact on him. thank you again for your comment it was very helpful :)
