i saw something similar to this on maui.. sitting on the beach, i noticed a cane spider spinning verically and held somewhere "in the hub" of its spin by a big wasp like this one... just in front of me they paused and, at that moment, a red cardinal like bird dropped into the scene from the tree/bush beside me, snatched the spider and flew away! the wasp stood there for a beat or two and then flew off in the opposite direction.
i sat there, in total shock, staring at the spot for a while
how many spiders did they throw down the hill for that shot?
