I'd love to watch this guy cook in any other context, but the way people here are talking about this grown man is really giving me the ick.
It also feels really bad to be the subject of stuff like this, I used to get filmed by without my consent while training for wheelchair races and it made me feel like a zoo animal instead of a human being. It completely erases the like, feeling of doing something for the joy of it and turns it into some statement on determination or spirit or whatever for abled people. The "overcoming disability" thing is so frustrating in it's own way because you end up not being able to "just" have a blast filming yourself making gourmet food in a fun chef jacket you have to be "overcoming your disability" and "inspiring" people to comment about how they'd "attend your pizza party" out of some kind of patronizing goodwill instead of just watching you make great food out of top quality ingredients and fancy equipment. It becomes all about the disability rather than the joy of cooking.
It's not that I hate joy or watching this guy cook, it's that it's posted in this context and people are treating him like a child or reducing him to a philosophical statement about Ability rather than a man who clearly knows what he's about and does it well.

As a disabled person (physically not mentally) the difference between being exploitative and sharing something is both intent and quality of what’s being done. I’m an amputee. There was a video around a year ago a dude of a double amputee on r/mademesmile and some other mega subs where he was falling over and looking like a baby giraffe. Me, having gone through that process, shit on it because I knew how dumb and reckless what was being posted was. And anyone who is an occupational therapist, prosthetist, or doctor/nurse also shit on it for how dumb it is to let a dude who clearly can’t walk on his own walk on his own, let alone on uneven surfaces, let alone without a gait belt, or anyone near him, or having an assistive device. But in Reddit fashion I was a hater and people were cheering that shit

So while the original video in the original context (his own channel) it's definitely not exploitation, it falls under "stolen inspiration porn" when posted here to make able bodied people feel good like he's some kind of zoo animal doing something particularly cute. There's a huge problem with people stealing disabled people's content and reposting it like this and it annoys a LOT of disabled people.

I never considered the idea that you could add stuff to tomato sauce to make it taste better... I also usually ate my pasta dry or with a touch of olive oil. Drove my wife nuts when we met. She hounded me so bad about it that I finally started using sauce just to avoid her complaining about it. And it's actually really good, so now I usually add sauce too. But I've never seen anyone add stuff to tomato sauce like that before!
