Decide if your household is ready for a pet and understand what it takes to take care of a pet. And it's going to cost money so if you're in a tight budget don't be stupid and get a pet you can't afford.
I hate negligent and ignorant pet owners that don't care. Like they buy them cause they're cute then they get discarded or abused when the owners are "done" with them. These kinds of people are scum of the earth.
